"Buddy" is definitely a kennel favorite. Even though we all adore him, after months of waiting, he finally got adopted, only to be returned within 48 hours for "Pulling on the lead." Even though he was probably confused as to what was happening, "Buddy" came back to the ESPCA with his "smile," and hasn't lost it. He is a smart boy who loves to play out in the yard. He does get along well with other dogs that are respectful and not in his face. This guy is always happy, and one we question why was a stray we pulled from Animal Welfare. "Buddy" was heartworm positive and completed his treatment. The ESPCA will ensure he is heartworm negative before finalizing adoption, but he can be placed in a foster to adopt home. "Buddy" is medium sized and steady at 40 lbs. You definitely need to visit him in our kennels Tuesday - Saturday 12 pm - 3 pm, and submit your application at enidspca.org

We got "Simon" from an out of area animal control after he was removed from a property with several other dogs. "Simon" does not trust people, and he does have physical scars as well as internal scars. "Simon" needs, time, patience, and understanding. He's actually a little comical in his kennel when he's trying to intimidate you with his barking while his tail is wagging a million miles a minute waiting for you to expose a hidden treat. The key to gaining "Simon's" acceptance of you is treats, and thankfully, he never seems to lose interest in treats. No matter how much you give him. This guy is young, and shouldn't only know what his life once was, or life in a kennel. If you have a soft spot for the more special pups, please come meet "Simon." The kennels are open Tuesday - Saturday 12 pm - 3 pm, and submit your application at enidspca.org.

Sam is an amazing loving dog; he has the energy to play with you but also will love to cuddle with you on the couch. He is housebroken and socialized with many other dogs and even horses. Sam is 1 year old and very eager to learn, he listens very well and wants to make you happy he loves walks and does so well on the leash. I have listed a price but I would give anything for him to have a happy home and family he only wants to love someone who can give him hugs. There is nothing wrong with Sam, my allergies have gotten so bad my allergy specialist has me carry an EpiPen for when my throat closes. I have tried so much to keep Sam but it has become too much.

In one month, Ember will have been with us for 1 year!!! We just know that her forever family is out there!!! Because she has been at the shelter for so long and considers it her home, her new family will need to be very patient and understanding. Our precious girl is about 10 years old and is a Boxer mix. Ember is very very picky about her furry friends so she would do best in a home with no other animals. Ember is very sweet with people and wants to always be in your company. She loves any toy that squeaks!! Ember unfortunately came into our care with some old injuries. She has two torn ACL’s which could have been repaired way back when it first happened. But now that she is 10 years old, her hips have arthritis. Her knees are too weak to do surgery on her hips, and vice versa, her hips are too weak to do surgery on her knees. The best thing for Ember at this point is for pain management which is simply done with one one pain injection monthly. She has been sponsored so she is free to an APPROVED HOME. "Persephone" became our dog after months of a complicated situation. Something from her past has impacted her, but she has really blossomed. She will react behind her kennel at certain people, and even outside of her kennel there are people she would rather avoid. However, "Persephone" has never shown any real major concerns. She loves to run, jump, and play in the yard, and flop on her back for belly rubs. She is a gentle and loving girl with a quirky personality. "Persephone" came in with her "brother," "Bloo," but we aren't listing them as a bonded pair. They are in separate kennels and have done just fine. If interested in meeting "Persephone," kennels are open Tuesday - Saturday 12 pm - 3 pm.

He will react behind his kennel, and even outside of his kennel he is not a dog to allow just anyone to approach. However, once "Bloo" considers you his person, he is all puppy like. He loves to run, jump, and play in the yard with his person, and flop on his back for belly rubs. He's gentle and loving, but, again, this is AFTER you become his person. "Bloo" came in with his "sister," "Persephone," but we aren't listing them as a bonded pair. They are in separate kennels and have done just fine.
