Meet Jamison This poor boy was adopted from the rescue as a puppy. A couple years later he was returned due to a divorce. He came back to the shelter scared of new people and unsure of dogs. The volunteers worked with him to build his confidence back up and he was adopted again to only be returned a year later due to another separation. My wife and I were excited to adopt Inverness last March and welcome her into our family. Since that time, both of our work schedules have become more demanding, making it very difficult to give Inverness the attention that she needs. She is very high energy, and loves to run around the yard. She is crate trained, and house-trained, going potty outside before each meal and once again 2 hours after. We have had her on a vegetarian diet since we got her, and she's thriving on it.

Name: Yumi Age: About 2-3 years Weight: About 66 lbs Likes/Favorite Activities: • Belly Rubs • Giving High-5 • Walks • Treats • Meals! • Running in the yard • Being near her people • ATTENTION! • Chewing on bones • Sleeping next to someone • Snoring • Wiggling her butt Dislikes: Being alone (without people) & baths Personality/Temperament: VERY fun loving and super sweet. Listens well and takes correction from other dogs. Happy girl! Energy Level: Moderate (rather typical for a dog her age) Favorite Treat(s): ANY, she isn’t picky! Eating Schedule: Twice per day (approx. 6 am & 6 pm) She is good with our dogs and cats. She has also been good with the kids she has been around (kids of all ages). She is housetrained with the occasional accident but that is decreasing the longer she is with us. She goes to the door if she has to go out. However, we tend to let our pups out more often than “normal” due to our other pups (not due to Yumi!) Crate Trained: She was using her crate when we were not home, however she does not love it. She tends to carry on when in the crate. Challenges: Honestly none that we have identified yet Medical Issues: Thankfully, none that we have identified. She does have an old injury to her back left leg, likely a partial tear that wasn't treated and has healed. This can cause some soreness with extended exercise. The BEST Home: One where she will be able to enjoy some activity and have companionship, with shorter periods of time when her humans aren’t home. Our adoption process starts with our application. Once the application is approved, a member of Legacy will contact you to set up a home visit. The home visit usually last 1-1.5 hours and is to make sure our dog and any current dogs/cats are getting along, as well as both of us agreeing it's a fit. At this time the adoption fee is due, and begins the 2 week trial. We will check in during the 2 week trial. If it's not working, our dog is returned to the foster home and all except $100.00 {$75 if Senior} of the adoption fee is returned. At the end of the 2 week trial, you decide if you will finalize the adoption - if finalized, the Adoption Contract is signed and all medical records are turned over to you. If at any time you need to rehome the dog it contractually needs to be returned to Legacy Dog Rescue. Our baby girl came to us right from her mommy at 8 weeks old as a companion for our granddaughter (who lives with us) during a difficult time in her life. She absolutely brought great joy and healing over the two years they spent growing together. It is with a heavy heart that I have come to this place but I am convinced it is the right thing to do for Remi. Our granddaughter has just finished high school, and is more consumed with the her friends, activities and work. She is rarely home so little time is being spent with her friend who craves attention and needs interaction. With my husband's and my work schedule, I feel badly that she spends so much time home alone. Being that we are older now we just don't have the energy to accomodate what she needs and it would be better while she is still young to adjust to a new family. She is house trained but may have an accident now and then. Ten, fifteen minutes a day of playtime makes her the happiest doggie ever. She is a very sweet girl!

My husband and I adopted Nash while living in Nashville in 2018. At the time we didn’t have any kids and could focus on Nash a lot more. He has been a great dog for 7 years and he is so patient and kind with our 2 year old. We are having another baby in January and it’s becoming too much with the dog to manage. We can’t have a fence at our home because of the HOA And Nash doesn’t get good exercise like he needs. Though it is a very hard decision because we love Nash deeply, We feel rehoming him is best for our family and for Nash at this time.

Abbi came into our home 2 years ago and stole our hearts! She's about 3 years old. She’s patient with everyone (adults, teens, and kids). She gets super excited to go for walks, outside, car rides, for visitors and is amazing in her crate. She’s a massive cuddler but also enjoys laying alone. She’s a sunshine puppy but will not hesitate to shove her nose in the snow and hop around. She doesn’t chase animals (birds, cats, squirrels, etc) and does great with cats of all ages/sizes. She’s our personal door bell, letting us know someone’s at our door but also knows how to use her inside voice when asked. She hasn’t shown any aggressiveness besides a barking at strangers who get too close, but she also does it for attention. We're looking for a loving home with a family who can handle a strong energetic dog. While she has a lot of energy, she likes spending her days on the couch sleeping while we work. Fun fact: She has a fear of Altoid mints and will take off running if she smells them
