Story
This kid is an absolute riot! He is a year old going on 3 months! Those long, clumsy legs of his gets him places so swiftly he’ll probably knock you down if you are in his way :)He is full of enthusiasm, playfulness, joy and absolute glee :) Every day is a good day for JuJu. Every day you will find JuJu romping around, exploring all he can explore, taking in all the sniffs and sights. When JuJu isn’t exploring, he is snuggling right next to you. He is noticeably more comfortable with women than men. Perhaps there was some mistreatment in his past by a man ? Treats with slow approach seems to be the trick at initial meets with men. Watch the puppy in him come out and soon his innate bouncy, happy self comes alive :) JuJu is about a year old, 60lbs Boxer Staffy mix. He is looking for an active home where his silly, bouncy, enthusiastic ways are embraced, cuddles and snuggles afterwards are met. JuJu has so much potential to be dynamite. He is a shiny star. He wants to shine with you.

Story
Dolly, the playful pup in training, loves to mimic her big sister Stevie while mastering the art of potty time! When playtime's over, you can find me cuddled up on the couch, soaking up TV time with my foster mom. 🐾💕 I am a little shy at first, once I get into your arms I melt right in. I am learning to like my “room” crate, and have been doing great through the night.

*SPECIAL NEEDS GIRL IN SEARCH OF SPECIAL HOME for PALLIATIVE CAREMeet our special needs girl Zoey. While under our care, Zoey had a soft tissue sarcoma tumor surgically removed from her leg. It may or may not come back. For that reason, we are asking for a permanent foster who is willing to open up their home to Zoey for as long as she has on this earth. The Shelter will continue to pay for all her vetting while she is in the permanent foster’s home. Zoey is a female Boxer mix that weighs 56 pounds. She is 8.5 years young. This girl came to us as an owner surrender after her loving owner passed away. Zoey is a very good girl and would make a great family dog. In the home, Zoey is very calm and easy going. She will follow you around and keep you company, whether you want it or not (LOL). She is very much a Velcro dog. Zoey thoroughly enjoys car rides. She is housetrained and has a medium energy level. She is dog selective meaning she likes some dogs, and others, not so much especially small dogs.. Zoey also does well with certain cats. If you have a resident dog, you must schedule a meet and greet to make sure everyone gets along. Zoey would be perfectly fine being the only dog too. Zoey is already spayed and microchipped. Please email dogadoptions@parmashelter.org and fill out an adoption application online to meet Zoey. Zoey lives her life day by day. She just needs a loving home.

Story
Please note: King is in a volunteer foster home and not at the shelter. Every once in a while, a dog like King comes along. King is a male Boxer mix that weighs 60+ pounds and is approximately 2 years old. King came to us as a stray. He is in horrible shape-very thin, skin infections, and little hair. We don’t know what happened to King but we can assure you, he is so grateful for all the love and TLC given to him. He is happy and ready to put his past behind him. This boy is so friendly and delightful. He just needs a home with a family that will promise to treat him like the King he is. He is a fairly easy dog- he curls up on his bed at the end of the night, licks the bowl after he finishes his food, and walks ok on leash. This holiday season is about appreciation and love. And while the dog volunteers always have a secret favorite shelter dog, I think we all agree that King is our absolute favorite. Because of King’s unknown background, we don’t know his compatibility with other dogs, cats, or children. At the shelter, he is unphased by the other dogs. A meet and greet is required with any resident dog to ensure that everyone gets along. We believe that once King recovers, he will be a spunkier different dog in the home. He is already such a good boy. King is available for our foster to adopt program which means you can foster him in your home until he finishes his vetting which includes neuter, vaccines, heartworm testing, and a microchip. For now, King needs to gain much-needed weight and let his skin heal. Please email dogadoptions@parmashelter.org and fill out an adoption application online to meet King. His adoption fee is $160. All of us have promised King that it’s only the best for the rest!

Are you looking for a low maintenance dog that thrives on a laid-back routine? Check out Randall! This 40lb, 1.5-year-old love bug just wants to be with his people. Randall is always trying to be a part of the family and will snuggle all day if you let him. If no one is available for cuddle time, he will find a comfy little spot to curl up and relax. Randall does great with his foster brother and loves to lay close to him. Randall is housebroken and is quick to go out, do his business, and then come in from the cold. Although he walks well on a leash, Randall would much rather be inside snuggling than outside in the winter weather. Randall really enjoys going for car rides and would make a great co-pilot. He rarely barks and has not chewed or destroyed anything in his foster home. Randall would really thrive in a home where he can be with his people and stick to his chill routine. If Randall sounds like the perfect match, get your applications in soon. This cuddle bug is sure to be adopted fast. All dogs available for adoption are in foster homes. Please do not visit the location as it is a privately run boarding, training, and grooming facility. Meet and greets are scheduled by appointment only for approved adopters. Age: 1.5 Years Adoption fee: $350

Story
Hello! I'm roscoe, a 3 year old male whose ready for his forever home. I'm a very sweet and loving boy who loves cuddles and kisses. I really love any stuffed animal type of toy. I walk really well and listen to commands. I am very goofy and love to play. However I may need some time to decompress since I've been moved around a little. I might get confused. It will take a little time for me to warm up to the sweet side of me, so please be patient and give me a little space to adjust. Being an only dog to be spoiled would be best as well. I don't really like being petted by strangers, it scares me. But that's okay. I'm really worth the extra effort. I just need the right people to find me. Thank you for considering me to be part of your family!

Story
Little Tabitha is looking for her forever home. She’s a spry young girl who is Anzio awaiting her spay surgery. Do you love to cuddle? Do you love to have fun? Do you love excitement? Do you just want to take hikes in the park? If you answered yes to any of those questions, this girl is for you! She craves human affection and loves to play with other dogs! She has not yet been tested with cats but we’re thinking she may be too much for them as well as young children because of her energy. She is crate trained and housebroken. She is current on all her vaccines as well. She rides beautifully in a car as well!November 4, 2024, 7:46 pm
