Hi, my name is Montgomery but my friends call me Monty! I'm a pretty handsome fella. I'm quite the mix of breeds but they all equal AMAZING! Take a look at my pics to see my DNA test. I'm good with kids and other dogs. I'm super energetic and love to play fetch. I had a rough start to life and have some medical issues - nothing major! The nice people at MVPC and MedVet have taken great care of me. I had an FHO in hopes of bettering my quality of life. I had what their vet is describing as birth deformity’s in both his back leg/hip, and front leg, and while I do walk and run a little funny, the Vet has assured us all that my quality of life is good and with the right owner I should be able to live comfortably for a long time. I also have arthritis in his front leg and may require anti inflammatories to be comfortable for the long term. BUT, I have been cleared for adoption and is “as good as it gets” moving forward. Even though I may move a little funny it doesn't slow me down one bit! I'm ready to find my forever family to love and live my best life! Meet Beast! Despite his scary and intimidating name, Beast is a huge softy. He is very loving, attentive and sensitive. Beast loves to snuggle and play and benefits from lots of attention. He does struggle with some anxiety issues and has a couple of nervous habits like biting his tail and crying when nervous. As Beast has aged he has become a little stand-offish to strangers. Although he does not have a history of biting he does seem aggressive before he warms up to people. After he gets to know someone, he’s their best friend. I have a child with special needs who overwhelms him at times and causes him stress so a house without small children may be best. Connor is the last of his litter that’s left with us here at APARC and as much as his foster family loves him, they know his forever family is out there waiting for him. Connor is an absolute sweetheart who loves children and is even so gentle with them that the neighborhood children break into his backyard to visit him, and even though he’s excited he’s so smart he waits for the 18 month old to approach him first so that he won’t scare them! He takes a small amount of time to warm up to adults, but children are the perfect bribe for winning him over.
