But now he is starting to warm up and is a good boy. He is happiest when he is outside! He loves to go on walks or simply hang out in the back yard!Jasper is truly a special pup with a big hear an an even bigger need for a calm, loving home. The kennel life has been tough on him- he experiences some anxiety and really thrives when he's the center of your attention. He'd love to be your one and only pet, where he can soak up all the affection. Jasper would do best in a quieter home with older or no children as he's sensitive to loud noises and high-energy environments. Jasper loves HARD, and his loyalty knows no bounds. Meet Miss Maggie, a gentle two-year-old girl with a heart that's slowly learning to trust. When she first arrived, Maggie was terrified. She wouldn't make eye contact, trembled when she tried to pet her, and hid under the office desk, unsure of the world around her. Her past has left some scars- she wasn't treated kindly by the humans who were supposed to love her. But even after being let down, Maggie still has so much love to give. Thankfully, Maggie didn't spend long at our facility before a wonderful foster stepped up and welcomed her into their home. And it didn't take long for the real Maggie to shine through! Within an hour, we received videos of her playing, being silly, and feeling relaxed with the other dog in the home. This is who Maggie really is- sweet, playful and full of joy when she feels safe. Maggie is looking for a forever home where she can continue to blossom, with people who will shower her with the love and kindness she deserves. Ash’s story is one that tugs at every heartstring. This sweet Boxer mix was brought to FDHS as an injured stray, likely the victim of a car accident. When we first met him, his eyes were full of pain, but there was still a glimmer of hope. Shortly after being posted as a stray, Ash’s owner came forward, devastated. Life had taken a harsh turn, and after many tears, they made the heart-wrenching decision to surrender Ash so he could get the care he desperately needed.Ash was rushed to the vet, where we discovered he had a severely dislocated hip that required surgery. Without hesitation, we got him the help he needed, knowing that this sweet boy deserved every chance at recovery. Now, Ash is in the midst of healing and is beginning to take adoption applications to find his forever home. Despite everything he’s been through, Ash’s spirit hasn’t dimmed. He’s a younger dog who bonds deeply with his people, and all he wants is to be loved. Ash is gentle, sweet, and friendly with everyone he meets—dogs, cats, kids, you name it. He just needs a home where he can feel safe, loved, and start fresh.Ash has had a rough journey, but we know there’s a happy ending waiting for him. He would love to try his paw at hiking and camping. Heck he might even enjoy a dip in the pond. Davey has so much love to give . He is working on crate training and good manners. He is fine with other dogs and older children. He might be to much for real little children. He is up to date on shots and wormed. He is already neutered. The adoption fee is $200. Laila is a 3yr old spayed female Boxer/ Pitbull mix. Laila came to us as part of a cruelty case. Laila was loved but never received vet care or proper food. She had a terrible flea infestation and was missing a lot of hair. She was also thin and needed wormed. She has now been fully vetted and has put on some much needed weight. For everything she has been through Laila is still a very kind and gentle girl. She eagerly wants to please you and should quickly learn new commands. She has some energy but also calms down nicely. She is good with her food and happily shares toys and treats. She has been through enough and now deserves to live the good life. She seems very well house trained. She is up to date on shots and wormed. She is already spayed. The adoption fee is $200. Our dogs are fostered and located in North Carolina until adopted. Once adopted we can transport to your location or to one of the other north eastern locations. We have a cost effective transporter who runs every other week. This pup was born 12-27-23. This pup was born to an american bull dog mom. Not sure what the dad is but this pup and all the siblings appear to to be purebred. This pup is extremely sweet and loving. This pup is devoted and absolutely loves people. This pup is great with other dogs. cats and even the foster's mini pig. This pup has been started on crate training and potty training. This pup is current in all age appropriate vaccines, preventives, microchipped. The adopter will get all the health records with the adoption. We require a prescreen application to adopt.
