Story
We'd like to re-introduce you to Winnie, a remarkable dog who's come a long way since we last introduced her a few months ago. If you remember she rescued by a Good Samaritan and had an an iliac fracture and MAJOR ear troubles. Thanks to the unwavering support of our incredible community, we were able to provide her with the necessary medical care, granting her the gift of a pain-free life through total ear canal ablation surgery she needed. Now, the time has come for us to find Winnie her forever home. At around 5-6 years old, Winnie is not just any dog; she's a TOTAL SWEETHEART! She has been living with a foster and has shown great compatibility with their other large dog, Scottie. Day by day, she's making huge strides in meeting new people. Instead of being terrified, she now greets strangers with excitement. Her transformation is nothing short of inspiring. Winnie does reasonably well around cats but may need some separation when left alone. She's learning to understand them, but she’s not aggressive towards them. When it comes to children, we believe she would thrive best in a home with older kids, as her playfulness can be exuberant, akin to a bull in a China shop. She also can be a bit mouthy when she wants attention, but it’s more gentle and nothing major. For Winnie, a fenced-in yard would be ideal, she would thrive in an active home and one that can continue nurturing her newfound confidence. Is that with you? If you are interested in potentially meeting Winnie, send us a message!

Story
Meet Revere, a 5-year-old Boxer/Terrie mix who’s ready to charm his way into your heart with his lovable quirks and resilience. Revere’s journey to us began after a summer thunderstorm, leaving him in need of medical care. Underweight and nursing a fractured right rear leg, this courageous adventurer has proven himself to be a fighter with a goofy grin that’s impossible to resist. Revere also sports a distinctive head tilt, which has been diagnosed as idiopathic meaning its exact cause remains a mystery. Despite extensive testing ruling out common issues like ear infections and vestibular disease, this adorable tilt has become Revere’s signature look. It doesn’t slow him down one bit; instead, it only adds to his charm! He may not look like your average dog due to his special needs, but this spirited guy takes it all in stride and is one of the happiest dogs in our care! Revere’s ideal home will be one that understands his unique needs. His medical conditions may require ongoing care, and we’re happy to discuss his journey in detail with you. He’s an affectionate, people-loving pup who thrives on attention and praise. While his heart is big, his social skills with other dogs aren’t quite there yet, so Revere will need to be the only pet in the home. This leggy, slanty walker is ready to share his zest for life with a family that will embrace his quirks and provide him the love and care he deserves. Are you ready to give Revere his happily ever after? Reach out to us to learn more about this one-of-a-kind guy!

Story
One of the best dogs you`ll ever meet, is Taz. He has the biggest heart possible and friendliest soul that could fit in his body. Taz knows sit and paw, he will very eagerly give you both of them and is so smart with catching on to new things! The way to his heart is toys but he does not discriminate! He loves tennis balls, squeaky toys, tug ropes and anything else imaginable. In a yard, he loves to do his zoomies, give out hugs to the people with him and just have a good time! While Taz loves the company of other dogs, he is a bull in a china shop and most dogs don`t appreciate his love to play. With another high energy friend, they`d be a perfect fit! We cannot believe Taz is still with us, he truly has so much love to give and ways to make you smile. Interested in providing him with a foster break? Yes, please!!! Stop on in or email us at foster@cuyahogacounty.gov.
