Story
Meet Gunner: Your Loyal and Hilarious Adventure Buddy This is heartbreaking to write because Gunner is my favorite dog I’ve ever owned. He’s loyal, loving, and absolutely hilarious. From his goofy underbite to how he “talks” about his day, he’s one of a kind. Gunner loves adventure—riding 4-wheelers, running through the woods, and especially swimming. He could spend all day in the water, and watching him swim for the first time was unforgettable. He even loves fire and embers; the white on his face is from fur growing back after one of his curious adventures. After two years, we’ve had to make the tough decision to rehome him. Gunner struggles with other animals and kids. While he loves his dog siblings, playtime can get too rough, and he’s shown aggression toward cats and young children. Gunner’s perfect home: Adults only, no other pets, and someone who loves the outdoors as much as he does. He’s smart, goofy, and full of love.

Story
Are you looking for a low maintenance dog that thrives on a laid-back routine? Check out Randall! This 40lb, 1.5-year-old love bug just wants to be with his people. Randall is always trying to be a part of the family and will snuggle all day if you let him. If no one is available for cuddle time, he will find a comfy little spot to curl up and relax. Randall does great with his foster brother and loves to lay close to him. Randall is housebroken and is quick to go out, do his business, and then come in from the cold. Although he walks well on a leash, Randall would much rather be inside snuggling than outside in the winter weather. Randall really enjoys going for car rides and would make a great co-pilot. He rarely barks and has not chewed or destroyed anything in his foster home. Randall would really thrive in a home where he can be with his people and stick to his chill routine. If Randall sounds like the perfect match, get your applications in soon. This cuddle bug is sure to be adopted fast. All dogs available for adoption are in foster homes. Please do not visit the location as it is a privately run boarding, training, and grooming facility. Meet and greets are scheduled by appointment only for approved adopters. Age: 1.5 Years Adoption fee: $350

Story
This kid is an absolute riot! He is a year old going on 3 months! Those long, clumsy legs of his gets him places so swiftly he’ll probably knock you down if you are in his way :)He is full of enthusiasm, playfulness, joy and absolute glee :) Every day is a good day for JuJu. Every day you will find JuJu romping around, exploring all he can explore, taking in all the sniffs and sights. When JuJu isn’t exploring, he is snuggling right next to you. He is noticeably more comfortable with women than men. Perhaps there was some mistreatment in his past by a man ? Treats with slow approach seems to be the trick at initial meets with men. Watch the puppy in him come out and soon his innate bouncy, happy self comes alive :) JuJu is about a year old, 60lbs Boxer Staffy mix. He is looking for an active home where his silly, bouncy, enthusiastic ways are embraced, cuddles and snuggles afterwards are met. JuJu has so much potential to be dynamite. He is a shiny star. He wants to shine with you.

Story
Hello! I'm roscoe, a 3 year old male whose ready for his forever home. I'm a very sweet and loving boy who loves cuddles and kisses. I really love any stuffed animal type of toy. I walk really well and listen to commands. I am very goofy and love to play. However I may need some time to decompress since I've been moved around a little. I might get confused. It will take a little time for me to warm up to the sweet side of me, so please be patient and give me a little space to adjust. Being an only dog to be spoiled would be best as well. I don't really like being petted by strangers, it scares me. But that's okay. I'm really worth the extra effort. I just need the right people to find me. Thank you for considering me to be part of your family!

Story
Sophie is still available for adoption. She’s the same sweet, playful, snuggly girl she has been since we pulled her, but she does have a new medical diagnosis. She was diagnosed with Tricuspid Valve Disorder and Pulmonic Stenosis - both congenital. The cardiologist graded her heart murmur a 5/6, which is significantly worse than when she was pulled 8 months ago. Sophie has a severe obstruction of 178 mm of mercury (80 is needed to be classified as severe). Because of this her life expectancy will be reduced, and more clinical symptoms could become present as she ages. She is now on daily medication, will require regular follow ups with a cardiologist, and monitoring activity/play since bursts of activity can increase her risk of collapse. We understand that her condition may limit homes that she may be suitable for, but we know her perfect place is out there! She is estimated to be around 3.5 years old, but that is just an educated guess. We cannot guarantee how much time you will have with Sophie. We cannot predict how her body will respond to changes over time, and if her treatment plan will need altered along the way. What we can tell you though is that Sophie is 100% worth the extra care and monitoring! Her foster always has great things to say about her. She loves showing off her tricks for people. She is well behaved in the home and enjoys taking walks. If you have a place in your heart for a girl whose heart isn’t perfect but will love you just the same - please consider Sophie! You can submit an application at www.mercysdoorpetrescue.org.

Story
From Rufus' foster mom - "We rescued Rufus from Cleveland Kennel a few months ago. He was hit by a car and a nice lady called the dog warden because she heard him crying in the woods for 2 days. He had a fracture his left hip (which we surgically repaired) and a broken right leg that healed with a cast and crate rest. After recovering for 3 months he is ready for a home. He is housebroken, crate trained, lives with other dogs and cats. Loves them. He is a little shy when you first meet him, but give him a treat and a ball and he's ur new friend. Knows sit and shake. Very smart young man" Apply to adopt Rufus at www.mercysdoorpetrescue.org.
