Story
Stan the Man has been at the pound for seven long months already. Despite Stanley’s serious facial expressions, he is a sweetheart, and will let loose and play when he’s given some time outside of his kennel. Stanley was abandoned after his owner got evicted, and has been living at the pound ever since. Stanley is pushing 70 pounds after his Thanksgiving feast. He will need a slow introduction to any cats in the home, but he seemed okay when we tested him. Any kids or dogs at home will need to come meet him prior to taking him home. Come out and take a chance on Stanley, we promise he’s pretty great!

Story
We’ve been told that Hambone looks like the happiest dog in the world. His “smile” reaches from ear to ear, and he never takes a bad picture! Hambone is a medium/large sized dog, and weighs 60 lbs. He’s smart and eager to please. He pulls on a leash and has lots of built up kennel energy but should mellow out in a home! Hambone has done well with cats! He has been picky about other dogs while at the pound which could just be due to kennel stress. Any kids or dogs at home will need to come in to meet him prior to adopting him. Come out and meet the Happy Hambone and add him to your family!

Story
Vada is a very special dog who quickly won over the hearts of our entire shelter staff. She comes from a rough background and is looking for a fresh start. She is terrified of men; we believe there was some abuse present in her past. She has her guard up, but with time and patience she opens up quickly. Vada LOVES cats and would do best with older kids/teens. She does not like dogs very much. She is really looking for a family willing to rescue her and continue to work on her trust building abilities. She knows her basic commands and seems to be house broken. She's eager to please once she breaks down her emotional barriers. She's going to be an awesome dog for someone, she just needs to be given the chance.Age: 6Housebroken: YesActivity Level: MediumKids: Teens 14+Dogs: Not a fan of other dogs Cats: Loves cats!Training Needs: Fairly high, terrified of strangers, especially menLeash Trained: YesMore information? Story
Xavier is the sweetest and cuddliest boy and always wants to be around his human. hes done well around kids age 8 and older, but i think hed also do fine around smaller children as long as hes reminded to be calm. hes been tested with both female and male dogs, big and small and hes done very well. he lives with 2 other dogs, one large senior male and a small female, in my home currently and he gets along with both great and plays well with the female dog. i work at a dog daycare and have trialed taking him and he hasnt shown aggression towards any dogs and did great with a small play group, but were still working towards more socialization with a bigger group. He is not a fan of cats. He would do best in a low traffic home since hes shown some fear towards strangers and men especially, but seems to react better to them when his foster mom is not around. hes easily bought with food though and warms up pretty quickly to women! hes mostly potty trained as long as he gets regular potty breaks and hes done well with crate training so far. he gets in his crate no problem but has some anxiety once i leave but he soon calms down. he needs someone to be patient with him and continue his training, but he already knows sit, paw, take it nice/gentle (when giving treats), we are almost there with down, and he has a good recall.Apply to meet Xavier at ricopetrecovery, org. Adoption fee is $250

Story
Meet Titan! He is two years old and previously lived in a home with other dogs. Titan was brought in as a “stray” by his owner who was moving and couldn’t take him along. He’s a very sweet dog! He’s a little shy with sudden movements but he’s just unsure of himself. He might thrive in a home with a confident dog! If you’d like to meet Titan, please let us know!
