Story
Looking for an older pup to share your home with? Meet Ricardio! This sweet boy came to us as a stray, and we're not sure why no one came looking for his handsome lad. But Ricardio doesn't let that get him down, he's just as spritely and happy as ever! Ricardio is in good shape for an older middle aged pup, and aside from his handsome salt-and-pepper face you'd never know his age. He is out of all that high energy puppy stage, but more than happy to accompany you for a walk or a lap around the yard. Ricardio is ready to find his retirement home and a family he can give all his love to! If you have other animals in your home, we recommend bringing them in to do a meet and greet before taking Ricardio home. If you are interested in meeting Ricardio, please submit an adoption form on our website: fairfieldcountydogs.com and we will contact you to arrange a time to visit. Story
Bones was found on a back road in November. It was clear she had been dumped. She had recently been spayed and was estimated to be about 1.5 years old. She is a Boxer Pitbull mix. They believe she is more Boxer than Pit, with her underbite being prominent. She is a very energetic, playful girl but also very anxious. She does not like to be left alone, but she has been semi-crate trained. She does better in a smaller crate rather than having space to move about. She will be your best friend and protector, though she isn't aggressive towards people. She has not been friendly with our other dog, but she is not aggressive either. She has been great with our five children, but as I said, she is high-energy and would probably do best in a home without very small children. Our youngest is five. She is house-trained if she is being watched, if not, she is questionable. She loves to chew and is great at fetch! She has been dewormed (as a precaution) and treated for fleas.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Introducing Freddie!! This handsome fellah is ready to wiggle his way right into your family to find a family to grow up with. He has entered our DASH Prison Training Program where he is learning his puppy manners and basic commands. He is working on (& getting pretty good with) sit, stay, down, wait & leave it. Freddie is great on a leash, is (mostly) housebroken in the prison environment but will need continued training & encouragement to get these down while he acclimates to his new home. He will go into his crate but whines if he is left alone because he'd rather be with his person. He likes playing with the other dogs but has not been cat tested. His handler says Freddie is a happy, playful, affectionate, energetic little boy. With all that puppy energy a meet and greet is recommended especially with younger children. He'd love to come home with you, apply today! Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 10, 2025, 2:35 pm

Story
Meet this incredible survivor! Found in Tipton County, this sweet boy was skin and bones, hairless, and overlooked by so many. We couldn’t leave him behind, and he’s come so far—from 17 to 36 lbs! With love, warmth, and plenty of food, his personality has blossomed. He adores other dogs, all people, his crate, and especially toys and sweaters. He’s house-trained, food-motivated, and ready for his forever home. Could it be with you? Once adopted he will travel via the Rescue Transport to his new family. They travel every weekend from Memphis, Tennessee to the north east, delivering pups along the way as far north as West Greenwich, Rhode Island. Transport is an additional $185. If you would like to make this cutie part of your family please follow the link below to our adoption application. Our turnaround time is typically less than 24 hours so please be prepared before you submit your application. https://forms.gle/APKvbgFJcaRvgKgk9

Story
Gypsys DNA test results are mostly Boxer, Husky, and German Shepherd. She bounces on her front legs when she is excited or wants something (we now know that comes from the Boxer in her). Gypsy is around 5 years of age and weighs around 75 pounds. Gypsy has been with us for 3 years, and we don't know why she has not been adopted yet. She is a very good girl and is the most obedient dog we have ever seen. She knows how to sit and comes when called. She is housetrained and very well behaved in the house. She likes her crate and sleeps in it with the door open. She walks well on a leash and rides well in a vehicle. Gypsy loves her toys, especially squeaky ones, and she loves playing fetch. Gypsy is active - she loves to run and play with toys and other dogs. She loves water and lays in the wading pool when it is hot, and we bet she would love snow. She gets excited about squirrels, cats, and critters on the other side of the fence. Gypsy loves human attention and is good with older children. Gypsy is smart and might benefit from more obedience training from someone firm, patient, and loving. Gypsy is a sweet dog. She gets attached to her human and likes to lay under my desk when I work on the computer. Gypsy must be in the house as a loved family member. She must be walked on a leash and have a yard with a 6' fence to run and play. To emphasize...although Gypsy generally gets along with all dogs (she currently lives in a home with 14 other dogs both large and small and there are no problems), She either needs to be the only dog in the house or only paired with one other large male dog. Gypsy has been with the rescue for 3 years and a change will be scary. She needs an experienced adopter who is patient understanding, and willing to give her the time she needs to get comfortable in a new home. She is a great dog for a single person or couple. Any children should be over 10 years of age. Gypsy spayed, tattooed, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. Gypsy had a light case of heartworms when we first got her. She is now heartworm-free and receives monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Gypsy is located in Texas but can be transported after she is adopted. Her adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport by a reputable and trusted transport company to several scheduled stops in Ohio - including but not limited to - Columbus, Cincinnati, and Akron OH Please email 2manydogstx@gmail.com if you are interested in adopting this very good girl. Story
Mariposa is a sweet baby at the lovely age of 7. She loves to be lazy and sleep on the couch, in her dog bed and bed out in the backyard on sunny days. She enjoys walks, runs and exploring. She loves cuddling with adults and is very protective of her space. She doesn’t eat food off the counter, she doesn’t steal food from your hands. She will sit and wait to see if you drop something. Mariposa is anxious and doesn’t like other dogs. Children make her nervous. She would be best in a home with older children (high schoolers) and no dogs. She is our baby and full of love to give, we just have little children that make her super nervous creating an unsafe space for both children and dog.

Story
Meet Milkbone! This tall, dark, and handsome guy has been in the shelter for far too long. Milkbone has had a rough time since entering the shelter, has was very nervous when he first came in. But with some tasty milkbones and love he came around and is now a total lovebug! Though Milkbone can be nervous and shy when meeting new people, give him a treat and he warms right up. Once he's comfortable with you he's ready to romp and wrestle, and would love to be your new best friend. Milkbone does not always understand his size and strength, and would greatly benefit from positive reinforcement based training. Milkbone would like to be the only dog in the home so that he can have all your love to himself! If you are interested in meeting Milkbone, please submit an adoption form on our website: fairfieldcountydogs.com and we will contact you to arrange a time to visit. Story
Looking for somebody to keep you active during the day, and cuddle up with you at night? Sage is your girl! This sweet lady is still a puppy at heart, and wants nothing more than love and affection paired with some good ol' play. She's such an awesome girl that she is our resident test doggy for new dogs! Sage does not always understand just how big she is, so she would prefer a home with older children. Despite her puppy-like disposition, Sage loves to learn and already knows "Sit" and "Down', and would benefit from continued reward-based training. If you have other animals in your home, we recommend bringing them in for a meet and greet before taking Sage home. If you are interested in meeting with Sage, please submit an adoption form on our website: fairfieldcountydogs.com and we will contact you to arrange a time to visit.
