If you want to see some cute videos of me, scroll to the end of the pictures and watch right from here! If I do not currently have any videos up, just have some patience. Maynard will be at the shelter waiting for his forever family. Meet Maynard, a 1.5-year-old Boxer mix with a personality as unique as his name! This sweet, silly guy is the definition of happiness and social charm. Maynard has a quirky habit of doing excited air chomps, which are totally harmless and just his way of expressing joy-it's silly, but in the best way possible! He's a gentle soul with no signs of food aggression or resource guarding. Maynard is comfortable in his cage and handles leash walks like a pro. When meeting others, he shows a soft, puppy-like demeanor that makes him easy to get along with. If you're looking for a fun-loving, affectionate companion with a touch of quirky charm, Maynard might just be your perfect match! If you think Maynard has stolen your heart, please bring your family and canine companions to the shelter during our open hours. Maynard also was cat tested and wasn't bothered by the felines he saw. Please note that a meet and greet with other dogs in the home is required before adoption can be completed.

Story
Hello! I'm roscoe, a 3 year old male whose ready for his forever home. I'm a very sweet and loving boy who loves cuddles and kisses. I really love any stuffed animal type of toy. I walk really well and listen to commands. I am very goofy and love to play. However I may need some time to decompress since I've been moved around a little. I might get confused. It will take a little time for me to warm up to the sweet side of me, so please be patient and give me a little space to adjust. Being an only dog to be spoiled would be best as well. I don't really like being petted by strangers, it scares me. But that's okay. I'm really worth the extra effort. I just need the right people to find me. Thank you for considering me to be part of your family!

This is Mia. She is about 5 years old. She loves to cuddle, sun bathe, chew on bones, and play fetch. She is good with kids. She loves to be comfortable with a pillow or blanket. She does not do well with dogs she doesn't know. She does warm up eventually, but it can take time. She's the sweetest girl and loves to sleep in bed pressed up against your back. You'll never have to convince her for cuddles, she will always be the first to hand them out!

Story
Meet Gunner: Loyal, Hilarious, Adventure Buddy! This is heartbreaking to write because Gunner is my favorite dog I have ever owned. He is loyal, loving, and absolutely hilarious. Gunner loves adventures, riding 4-wheelers, running through the woods, and especially swimming. He could spend all day in the water, and watching him swim for the first time was unforgettable. He even loves fire and embers; the white on his face is from fur growing back after one of his curious adventures. After two years, we had to make the tough decision to rehome him. Gunner struggles with other animals and kids. While he loves his dog siblings, playtime can get too rough. After numerous incidents with his sister we had to make this tough decision. Gunners perfect home: Adults only, no other pets, and someone who loves the outdoors as much as he does. He is smart, goofy, and full of love.

*SPECIAL NEEDS GIRL IN SEARCH OF SPECIAL HOME for PALLIATIVE CAREMeet our special needs girl Zoey. While under our care, Zoey had a soft tissue sarcoma tumor surgically removed from her leg. It may or may not come back. For that reason, we are asking for a permanent foster who is willing to open up their home to Zoey for as long as she has on this earth. The Shelter will continue to pay for all her vetting while she is in the permanent foster’s home. Zoey is a female Boxer mix that weighs 56 pounds. She is 8.5 years young. This girl came to us as an owner surrender after her loving owner passed away. Zoey is a very good girl and would make a great family dog. In the home, Zoey is very calm and easy going. She will follow you around and keep you company, whether you want it or not (LOL). She is very much a Velcro dog. Zoey thoroughly enjoys car rides. She is housetrained and has a medium energy level. She is dog selective meaning she likes some dogs, and others, not so much especially small dogs.. Zoey also does well with certain cats. If you have a resident dog, you must schedule a meet and greet to make sure everyone gets along. Zoey would be perfectly fine being the only dog too. Zoey is already spayed and microchipped. Please email dogadoptions@parmashelter.org and fill out an adoption application online to meet Zoey. Zoey lives her life day by day. She just needs a loving home.

These pups are in Grafton, Ohio too!

Story
**COME SEE ME at our next ADOPTION EVENT on Saturday, February 8 from 11 am - 2 pm at Tractor Supply in Columbia Station, 24100 Royalton Road. If you have an already approved application, it's possible you take your new friend home that day.** Hiya! I'm Holton, a 30lb Pit mix puppy, and I'm looking for my forever family. I found my way to this wonderful dog rescue after being thrown out of a moving car and suffering a spinal injury. I am mostly healed from that, but now I walk a little funny, almost like I'm drunk. I don't think I'm any different than other dogs, though, so it doesn't really bother me. At a follow-up appointment for my spinal injury, the vet noticed my heart sounded funny, so I went to see a specialist for hearts. They said I have a defect and will require medications for my whole life plus yearly visits to the cardiologist. Luckily, the problem with my heart shouldn't affect my life any. The amazing rescue I'm with said they will cover the costs of the medication and cardiologist visits for the rest of my life so that my forever family doesn't overlook me! I'm a puppy who is very toy-motivated. I especially like the ones that are good for chewing! I'm already crate-trained and almost fully potty-trained, but will need a patient family who can help me learn to walk properly on a leash. I sometimes think the leash is a toy, so I'll bite it when we are trying to walk! I would love to belong to a home that has another dog I can play with! I haven't been around cats or kids enough to know if I like them yet but probably should avoid super young kids because I'm still into puppy nipping. Despite my rough start to life, I am a silly young dog who loves everyone and is looking for an active family. If a goofy puppy with a wobbly walk sounds like a good fit for your family, then I'm the pup for you! Fill out an application to meet me ASAP! All dogs available for adoption are in foster homes. Please do not visit the location as it is a privately run boarding, training, and grooming facility. Meet and greets are scheduled by appointment only for approved adopters. Story
Hi, my name is Rae! I’m a 75lb, 1-year-old Pit mix and I’d love to have a family to call my own. I’m crate-trained and potty-trained, but I’m not a fan of going outside alone. My foster mom always walks me outside so that I can do my business. I’m very cautious with everything and it takes me a little while to warm up to new people and situations. During the few weeks I’ve been with my foster mom, I have started to gain some confidence. I will need a patient family with a calm household to help me continue to come out of my shell. I’d prefer not to have any young kids in the house, as their activity makes me too nervous. When my foster mom has her grandkids over, I tend to retreat to my crate to avoid the commotion. I’m sure one day I will overcome my nerves, but I still need a little more time to gain some confidence in myself. My foster mom says that I’m still learning how to be a dog. I don’t play much and I’m not a huge fan of toys. I do love to chew on bones, though! They are my favorite. I do get the zoomies on occasion and boy am I fast! I love to snuggle with my foster mom. It took me a little time to warm up to her but I sure do love curling up next to her now. Hopefully, you have room in your house for a big snuggle bug! Fill out an application to meet me ASAP! All dogs available for adoption are in foster homes. Please do not visit the location as it is a privately run boarding, training, and grooming facility. Meet and greets are scheduled by appointment only for approved adopters. Age: 1 Years Adoption fee: $ 250
