Story
Meet Revere, a 5-year-old Boxer/Terrie mix who’s ready to charm his way into your heart with his lovable quirks and resilience. Revere’s journey to us began after a summer thunderstorm, leaving him in need of medical care. Underweight and nursing a fractured right rear leg, this courageous adventurer has proven himself to be a fighter with a goofy grin that’s impossible to resist. Revere also sports a distinctive head tilt, which has been diagnosed as idiopathic meaning its exact cause remains a mystery. Despite extensive testing ruling out common issues like ear infections and vestibular disease, this adorable tilt has become Revere’s signature look. It doesn’t slow him down one bit; instead, it only adds to his charm! He may not look like your average dog due to his special needs, but this spirited guy takes it all in stride and is one of the happiest dogs in our care! Revere’s ideal home will be one that understands his unique needs. His medical conditions may require ongoing care, and we’re happy to discuss his journey in detail with you. He’s an affectionate, people-loving pup who thrives on attention and praise. While his heart is big, his social skills with other dogs aren’t quite there yet, so Revere will need to be the only pet in the home. This leggy, slanty walker is ready to share his zest for life with a family that will embrace his quirks and provide him the love and care he deserves. Are you ready to give Revere his happily ever after? Reach out to us to learn more about this one-of-a-kind guy! Please note Revere resides in a foster home and is not available for same day meet and greets. If interested in learning more about Revere or scheduling a meet and greet, please contact the foster team at foster@cuyahogacounty.gov today!

*SPECIAL NEEDS GIRL IN SEARCH OF SPECIAL HOME for PALLIATIVE CAREMeet our special needs girl Zoey. While under our care, Zoey had a soft tissue sarcoma tumor surgically removed from her leg. It may or may not come back. For that reason, we are asking for a permanent foster who is willing to open up their home to Zoey for as long as she has on this earth. The Shelter will continue to pay for all her vetting while she is in the permanent foster’s home. Zoey is a female Boxer mix that weighs 56 pounds. She is 8.5 years young. This girl came to us as an owner surrender after her loving owner passed away. Zoey is a very good girl and would make a great family dog. In the home, Zoey is very calm and easy going. She will follow you around and keep you company, whether you want it or not (LOL). She is very much a Velcro dog. Zoey thoroughly enjoys car rides. She is housetrained and has a medium energy level. She is dog selective meaning she likes some dogs, and others, not so much especially small dogs.. Zoey also does well with certain cats. If you have a resident dog, you must schedule a meet and greet to make sure everyone gets along. Zoey would be perfectly fine being the only dog too. Zoey is already spayed and microchipped. Please email dogadoptions@parmashelter.org and fill out an adoption application online to meet Zoey. Zoey lives her life day by day. She just needs a loving home.

Story
Cubby is curious, cuddly, and cute. This young, strapping pup has been described as a great mix of active but chill. Currently living in a foster home, he enjoys his play time, and will happily romp and leap after toys in the yard. Or he`ll merrily join you for a meandering adventure walk, leading with his nose. But he`s also nicely attentive to his person. He listens well and you can tell he has a bright mind that`s just waiting for the chance to shine outside the kennel. He also has solid house manners.Cubby also prefers to take plenty of breaks for pets and cuddles. He`ll lean right in to encourage you - or he might hop invitingly up on the bench (or couch) and wait for you to join him. Cubby loves other dogs and seems like he has cat potential too! Cubby is estimated to be around 2 and a half years old and weighs 52 lbs.Visit www.tinyurl.com/meetacitydog to set up a meet!

Are you a cat lover but would like to try out something new, like a dog!? If so, Dorver is perfect for you! Not only does he have delightfully short cat ears and a long tail, but he also enjoys curling up in laps for kisses. He has been introduced to other dogs in our playgroups and would do best as an only pet or in a home with a low energy dog of similar size. We do not recommend him in a home with smaller critters. Due to how nervous he can be around new things; we would not suggest he live with children under the age of 12. Come on down for some Dorver kisses and see if he would be a good fit for you!

Don’t let her 7½ years fool you—Miss Domino is no couch potato! This delightful Pit Bull still has plenty of pep in her step and can keep up with the youngsters in any playgroup. With her classic black-and-white coat and those wonderfully expressive ears, Miss Domino always looks ready for a formal event, but she’s just as happy enjoying casual adventures. Miss Domino is as close to pit-bull perfection as it gets. She’s an easy-going lady who keeps a tidy kennel and is a polite walking partner, making her a joy to have by your side. While she’s social and enjoys the company of other dogs, her ideal home would be one without cats. If you’re looking for a classy, fun-loving companion to brighten your days, Miss Domino might be your perfect match. Story
Patience is a 3 1/2 -year-old Bulldog mix who is equal parts energy and affection. This lovable girl is looking for a home that will not only meet her high energy needs but also help her build confidence as she navigates her fears. Despite her name, Patience is a bit of a scaredy-cat at heart, and many of her behaviors stem from fear. Her ideal family will take the time to understand her, help her feel safe, and provide the structure and consistency she thrives on. Patience recently went through a training program with Miracle K9 training and comes with follow up training for her new adopter. Here’s why Patience`s foster mom thinks she will make a wonderful companion: Housebroken and Crate Trained: She’s got the basics down! Patience is fully housebroken and feels comfortable in a crate or crated area.Great Routine Buddy: She loves having a routine and would do well with a family committed to training and creating structure.Chill at Home: While she has lots of energy outdoors, she also knows how to relax. She’s happy to snooze in the mornings or lounge on the couch while her person works.Ultimate Lovebug: Patience adores snuggling in bed or curling up on the couch and doesn’t mind acting like a lapdog – tail wagging all the way!Respectful of the Home: She doesn’t get into things she shouldn’t, with the exception of sneaking into trash cans without lids (watch out for those tissues!).The ideal home for Patience is an active and committed adopter. She’d thrive with an active person or family who can meet her energy needs through walks, playtime, or a fenced yard where she can zoom around.A patient adopter willing to help her navigate her fears and triggers; while giving her time to settle into her new home (she typically adjusts around week two). While she hasn’t been around children, her energy level and size might be better suited to homes with older kids or adults. Patience is a truly wonderful dog who just needs the right environment to flourish. While she has been introduced and interacted with other dogs in a controlled environment, her ideal forever home would be with male dogs of similar size and play style. Patience does require a forever home without resident small animals. She’s been doing amazing in her current foster home, and her foster highly recommends a foster-to-adopt arrangement to ensure the right fit. Email us at foster@cuyahogacounty.gov to learn more about this sweet pup and our foster-to-adopt p
