Story
Meet Goldie! Goldie is 1-2 year old Boxer mix who was found roaming the streets in Columbus. Luckily, she found a wonderful family to take her in and reached out to PetPromise to help find her forever family. Goldie loves to play with other dogs, toys and cuddle. She is learning to love crate time and is currently working on house training. She gets along well with other dogs and cats. She quickly learned how to “sit” and we have no doubt she can learn many more tricks. She would do well in an active home with another active dog to play with. She is working on potty training and doing well with consistent positive reinforcement. She is very treat motivated and learning very quickly. She has already mastered sit! Goldie is also working on her crate training. She is doing excellent and is great with other dogs! She will ready for obedience classes when she is adopted. We HIGHLY encourage obedience/behavior training for all of our pups once adopted into their forever homes. If you live an active lifestyle and are ready to bring this adorable girl into you home, please apply to meet her at PetPromise.org Please fill out an adoption application at PetPromise.org We only adopt out in Columbus, Ohio area only. Adoption fee is $400

Story
MoxieFemaleAge: 6Weight: 58 lbsBreed: Boxer Hi! I’m Moxie! I am a quiet and loving lady who gets along with other dogs. I have not been around cats to know how I would do around them. Even though I am a gentle girl, I am very nervous so small children in the home may not be best for me. I am house trained and crate trained (my crate is definitely my safe space) and I am learning to walk well on a leash. I enjoy lounging in the sun and running around my fenced yard. I am a bit skittish yet, so a house with a fence is best for me. I have a squeaky puppy toy that I like and have learned that I enjoy soft small treats. Because of my past I am honestly still learning to be a dog, so a home with another dog who can help me figure out what that means would be great.  I cannot wait to find my very own family who will love me and show me the patience I need so that I can continue coming out of my shell.  If you are interested in meeting this quiet, sweet, loving girl, apply to adopt her at: www.causeforcanines.org. Adoption fee: $350 Must be an Ohio resident and 23 or older. Children must be 10 years old or older.  ##2065267##

Story
ABOUT ME... Hi there, I'm Posie! I'm one of seven spunky little boxer mixes. After some time with my foster mom, I'm looking for my forever family. My brothers and sisters and I were discovered tucked away in a cardboard box, and the humans at the local pound knew we'd feel and do a lot better in a foster setting. That's how we ended up with COPAW, where we're all soaking up love and cuddles while learning all about the world with our fosters, who like us a lot! I'm already microchipped, de-wormed, and up-to-date with my vaccines (bordetella and two rounds of DHPP), so I'm set to be a healthy, happy pup. My future family will just need to bring me back to COPAW the week of 12/2/2024 for my spay appointment, including my final DHPP and rabies shots-all covered in the adoption fee. I can't wait to meet my new family and share all my puppy love and energy with them! I AM GREAT WITH... Every sound, smell, and sight is fantastic! My foster mom's dog and two cats are fun, even if they can't keep up with my energy. I think they secretly adore me, though! I understand potty time and do great if you let me outside regularly-my foster mom says I'm a fast learner! I love being outside in the sunshine, rolling in the grass, jogging inside the house, and playing with squeaky toys. Treats? OMG, those are so good! I'm comfy in my crate and happy to snooze there, but I'm always up for a cuddle. I AM NOT GOOD WITH... Walking on a leash. Walking for more than a few feet on a leash seems silly and boring to me at this point-there's so much to sniff and explore out there-I hope my new family will be patient with me while I work on this. I AM STILL WORKING ON.. I'm a little nippy (What can I say? It feels so good to nibble on everything!), but my foster mom is helping me understand that soft, gentle play keeps everyone happy. I'm getting better every day! *Adopters must reside within 2 hours of Columbus, OH. No transportation assistance is available.*

Story
ABOUT ME "Hi there! I'm Honey, a boxer mix who started life in a cardboard box with my siblings but was rescued and brought to a loving foster home. I'm a sweet, friendly girl who loves everyone I meet-whether they walk on two legs, four, or even if they're a stick! My favorite activities include playing fetch with sticks, hanging out with other dogs, and cuddling with my people (especially in their laps). Once I'm snuggled in, I usually can't resist a cozy nap right there in your arms. At night, I sleep in my crate like a champ when it's in the bedroom, and I'll even let you know if I need a potty break!" I'm already microchipped, de-wormed, and up-to-date with my vaccines (Bordetella and two rounds of DHPP), so I'm set to be a healthy, happy pup. My future family will just need to bring me back to COPAW the week of 12/2/2024 for my spay appointment, including my final DHPP and rabies shots-all covered in the adoption fee. I AM GREAT WITH I love people, including kids, other dogs, and sticks, they make great friends and toys! I AM STILL WORKING ON I am still working on my potty training. I am learning quickly but need a bit more guidance and patience. Leash training - I am still getting the hang of it. I am working on my crate training during the day, especially when I am left by myself. I AM NOT GOOD WITH Nothing so far-I am still a young pup with a lot to learn, but I'm up for anything with a family who'll love and guide me! *Adopters must reside within 2 hours of Columbus, OH. No transportation assistance is available.*

Story
Connie is quite the underdog. Living chained to a trailer and sleeping in deep mud, Connie produced litter after litter of puppies while never receiving any vet care whatsoever. The family finally agreed to surrender her and her only surviving pup (who was living in a small crate outdoors, and has now been adopted).Connie came to us emaciated and positive for several internal parasites, including heartworm and tick diseases. After several months of vet care, Connie is now heartworm free!!!Everyone at the vet loves Connie and her happy personality. Connie is good with other dogs but often intimidates dogs with her strong personality until they get to know her.Connie is approximately 45 pounds. She does have 'weak knees' which cause her to walk with stiff back legs on occasion. This is managed with oral medication as needed for pain. In general, Connie gets around really well and loves going on leash walks.Connie has been on restricted exercise while going through her heartworm treatment and can't wait to run and play again!Apply for Connie at ricopetrecovery.org Her adoption fee is $250.

Story
This beautiful girl is Cocoa. Cocoa is 4 yrs old and has a pure velvet coat. She is very smart and PERFECTLY house trained. She has not had any accidents, has no desire to get on furniture, she is curious, but not at all destructive. She is also a very gentle dog that loves her toys, but does not destroy them. She can sit and give you her paw like a champ. Cocoa would love an active family that would take her for car rides, hikes and runs. She is an athletic girl that excels at ZOOMIES and TWIRLS. Cocoa needs some leash work and would need slow introductions to new dogs. Please consider fostering or fostering to adopt Cocoa so she can continue her great progress! Ricopetrecovery.org/help.
