Story
Jalene is a 4-year-10-month old Boxer/Bulldog mix weighing 38 pounds. She came to the shelter as a stray so her history is unknown. Jalene is a petite girl with a large personality! She is full of sassiness, cuddles and kisses! She likes to go for walks but pulls, needs leash training and a harness is required to prevent trachea damage, she's especially crazy and pulls when squirrels are near! She is very smart and curious. She is quick to learn. She loves treat puzzles and knows commands sit and paw. She is selective with treats and loves stuffed toys. Plays fetch and and enjoys other outdoor toys, lots of energy. She thinks she is a lap dog and wants to be with you all the time. Loves car rides, especially if there is a pup cup-minus the cup! No cats permitted in her new home. Jalene does well with other dogs but should be the only dog in the home due to her not wanting to share attention (jealous). Her adoption fee is $150, this includes her spay, heartworm test, vaccines current, deworming, heartworm/flea prevention and micro chipped. Her dog license is also required to be purchased for Sandusky County residents at time of adoption, which is an additional $21.00. Please visit the shelter to meet her, we show dogs Monday through Friday 1pm-4:30pm and Saturday 1pm-3:30pm. Once you have visited the shelter, you are then eligible to submit an adoption application for review. Hermione arrived after her previous owner faced some health hiccups, and boy, did we hit the jackpot with this snugglebug! She’s a pro at lap-hogging, belly-flopping for rubs, and dishing out kisses like they’re going out of style. This little love machine has a playful streak too—her favorite pastime is terrorizing a squeaky rubber ball, which she treats like her arch-nemesis. Hermione’s got charm for days and is just waiting to unleash hereness on her forever family.

Story
Hi, I'm Ace! I am a super loving boxer boy and my owner just didn't want to keep me with all of my issues. I love to play and snuggle, I am good with dogs, kids, and cats. I am just your typical boxer boy... but with a few challenges. I came into the rescue with a non-contagious form of mange that is being treated so I'm not so itchy. It has triggered some allergies for me that we are also treating. The biggest issue is that I have so pretty bad hip dysplasia. My right hip socket is very shallow so it is pretty sore. There aren't a lot of fixes for this but not I am on several supplements and building some muscle to help ease this! It doesn't really slow me down. I have so much love to give the right people and will likely be a foster to adopt situation while my skin and joints heal a bit. But I would love to find people who can commit to me despite these things. I deserve the best life! Adoption Application: https://www.nickensfamilyrescue.com/adoptionapplication

Story
Cactus is a sweet, lovable pup who sadly found his way back to us after his family moved and had a baby. It wasn’t his fault—they just couldn’t keep him—but he’s ready to find his forever home this time. Cactus is great with kids and other dogs, and he’s happiest when he’s part of the action—playing, cuddling, or going for walks. He hasn’t met cats before, so we’re not sure how he’d do, but slow, careful introductions could work just fine. He’s a gentle, affectionate boy who’s been through a lot of change but still has so much love to give. Cactus is ready to put down roots with a family who won’t leave him behind
