Story
Delilah is very much a puppy with a lot of energy! She is still learning manners & can be rough when playing with other dogs. Delilah is crate & potty trained, & can be a bit scared in new situations. Delilah is heartworm positive & not a good fit for young kids or small animals. Although she is heartworm positive, it is treatable and not contagious. Friends of Wake County Animal Center has provided a $600 sponsorship to help cover the cost of treatment. Story
Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to introduce you to the gorgeous Natasha! A beautiful 4 year old boxer mix dog that life has not treated very well; however, and despite how much she has suffered in her short life, her heart has had the ability to forgive and love people again, especially teenagers. And she proves it by giving you her paw when you get home, wagging her hips and tail at a speed that will surprise you!Tasha loves toys! She enjoys chewing on them and her greatest trophy is to find the squeaker and destroy it! She is also very good at playing fetch, making her an excellent playmate. That is why it is very important for her future family to have a fence yard and a male dogs to play with, considering that she gets along better with our dog Copper than with Maggie. When we are sitting at the table, Tasha will sit next to you and start talking, making sounds that will convince you to give her something from your plate, giving her paw as a thank you.We don't know what has happened in her past, but she gets very nervous when she sees someone running, so you must get her attention using a pet corrector and she will obey you immediately. Tasha also reacts to squirrels and bunnies, so it is recommended to be careful when walking. She is potty trained, spayed, vaccinated, heartworm free and ready to fill your life with pure love and tenderness. If you are strongly interested to give this diamond in the rough a second chance, please write to her foster mom at joshei@hotmail.com.Thank you for reading the story of a baby girl of which it is impossible not to fall in love with! Story
Meet Selena! This super sweet, energetic, and loving girl is ready for her forever home! She is an absolute goofball and is welcoming to any and everyone. It's hard not to fall in love with her. Selena is fully potty trained and has had no accidents despite recently living in a boarding facility. Selena is a high energy dog who loves to run around and burn off lots of energy! Her favorite thing to do is go on a long walk at the end of the day. Selena would thrive with an owner who can dedicate a couple of hours a day of exercising her. Selena would best fit in a home with no cats or small animals given her history of liking to chase small animals. Selena is quite the escape artist and can break out of a normal wire crate. She is also super snuggly and loves getting lots of attention. She does have a heart murmur that has been assessed by a cardiologist - she has no symptoms, so she is currently on a twice a day pill that she takes in a treat! If you're looking for a sweet, cuddly, and energetic pup, Selena might be the perfect match for you!Adoption fee of $150 includes spay, microchip, vaccines, deworming, heartworm testing, and heartworm/flea/tick preventionApply here: https://2pawsup.org/applications/adoption-application/March 17, 2025, 2:39 am

Story
I adopted Molly in July of 2023. Not much was known about her history other than she was used purely for breeding and she is 3 1/2-ish. She was kept outside in a very small wire cage, was severely malnourished, and dehydrated. The number of litters she had is unknown. Once rescued, she was spayed but tested positive for heartworms. She has finished her heart work meds and I will be taking her to the vet for a checkup within the next week. When I met Molly I fell in love with her. Despite all the horror I can o it Imagine she has experienced, she is so loving. Being with people makes her smile (so do mashed potatoes…they’re her favorite). She is still skiddish around loud noises or quick movements. She has loved every 2-legged friend she has met so far. And she is ok with my male dog (that’s the only male she has been around so I’m not sure if she is ok with all males). But…she is NOT female dog friendly. I have 4 other female dogs in my home so unfortunately Molly can’t stay. I want to find her a home where she can be the Queen! She deserves nothing less. Please email amanda.zimmer1983@gmail.com with any questions!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Hey there, I'm Kobe and I'm on a mission to fill your life with endless cuddles and tail wags! I was recently rescued off death row from Rowan County. Here's a little peek into what makes me special: Cuddle Expert: I'm a certified cuddle connoisseur! There's nothing I love more than snuggling up with my humans for some quality bonding time. Get ready for lots of warmth and love, especially during movie time! Leash Learning Pro: I may be new to this whole leash thing, but I'm eager to learn! I'm learning not to pull but every walk is an adventure, and I'm excited to explore the world by your side. Food Enthusiast and Trust Builder: I'm cautious at first, but I quickly warm up to people, especially if they offer me tasty treats! Food is the key to my heart, and once you have my trust, I'll love you forever. So let's bond over some delicious snacks and build a lifelong friendship together! Friendly Socialite: Although I've attempted to engage in playful antics with my doggy brother, he prefers a more laid-back vibe. My parents think I may need to learn the art of sharing affection with other pups who match my energy and enthusiasm. So let's find some new furry friends to romp and play with together, as I navigate the world of canine camaraderie! I do well with small dogs and big dogs if they are not overly energetic. Road Trip Ready: I'm a pro when it comes to car rides – no motion sickness here! Let's embark on some fun adventures together! Potty Prodigy: Good news – I've got this whole potty training thing down! Say goodbye to accidents because I'm a pro at doing my business in all the right places. Crating Expert: I'm crate trained. Just make sure to leave me with a Kong and some treats! Ready to welcome some love, laughter, and tail wags into your life? Then look no further – I can't wait to become your new best friend! Let's make memories together that will last a lifetime. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Hello! My name is Tank! I'm a 4 year old boxer mix that is ready to be your one true love!  Life has not been the best for me. I had a home but my owner had to give me up. He couldn't care for me, and I had significant hair loss. I was at the shelter for a long time and then this weird thing happened, my shelter home started flooding. I hear people say it was something about a hurricane named Helene. Anyways, this nice lady rescued me, but then her home flooded too! Long story short, Pawfect Match took me in and here I am, looking for a home.  So now that you know my story let me tell you a little about me. I currently live with my foster dad. It's just me and him. He gives me the best belly rubs, which I love sooooo much! He also plays tug-of-war with me and fetch. Those are my favorite games. In return, I'm a good boy. I use the potty outside and make sure to get in his lap for cuddles so he knows how much I love him!  Foster dad says I'm a funny guy! I can be a bit dramatic sometimes. Like when foster dad is busy and can't pet me or play with me, I give him a little huff so he knows I'm still here. When foster dad finally remembers me, I do this funny thing when foster dad pets me and I bend my whole body over his leg. I will also stand on him while he sits on the couch just so he remembers I'm there.  I do all the things most dogs do like potty outside. I'm good in a crate and I never destroy anything in the house. I really don't know why I'm not adopted! I do need to be an only dog but trust me, I'm all the love you need. Please consider adopting me today. I really want to know what a forever home feels like! If it's half as good as a foster home, then I know I'll love it! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Zoe is a boxer mix (Boxer, Beagle, and Great pyrenees). She is 4 years old and weighs 36lbs (medium size dog) She is a very sweet, playful girl with lots of personality. She likes to play with the other animals, toys, will be talkative when in a good mood, loves to cuddle, be lazy and take naps, and will be your best friend if you allow her to sleep on the bed with you! She eats twice a day, good appetite. She is a gentle, non aggressive eater. She does get anxiety when it storms where she will pant and tremble. We give her trazodone for this (vet recommended). She has separation anxiety and would do well in a home that someone is home more vs being left alone for long periods of time. She is house broken and doggie door trained. She uses a crate when left home alone, so she doesn’t chew anything (due to separation anxiety). She does well on the leash and enjoys going on walks. She does well in the car, with kids, adults, other dogs, and cats. Being that she’s social, but shy at first around new people, she prefers to be around people and other animals, vs sitting alone. Story
(DOB 01/02/2024) Dozer, the energetic, playful, and cuddly superstar who’s ready to bring fun and laughter into your home! Dozer is a bundle of joy with a BIG personality. He thrives in an active environment where he can burn off his boundless energy and show off his wrestling skills – this guy’s an MMA champion in the making! He loves to play with his doggy friends at daycare, but he prefers to be the boss, so he’d do best with a submissive dog who doesn’t mind letting him take the lead. Dozer is kid-friendly and thinks everyone he meets wants to be his best friend. The word, stranger, means nothing to him and is a social butterfly disguised as a dog. His tail is almost always wagging and wags even faster when he sees people; he is ready to say, "HI!" and get a quick little rub from anyone! He is ready to go anytime, anywhere, just pack him in the car and let's go! Dozer is doing good mastering the loose leash walking thing so be ready to spend some time with him and some good leash training. Dozer wouldn't mind living in an apartment or condo as long as his family has plenty of time and activities for him. No fence is required but if you have one - great, Dozer will enjoy running and playing with his furry siblings. If you’re looking for a solo companion, Dozer is happy to be your one-and-only, as long as you’re ready to give him the attention and love he craves. He’s also crate-trained, so no worries there. When it’s time to wind down, Dozer is all about cuddles and snuggles with his people. He’s a real sweetheart who loves to shower you with affection after a good play session. If you have an active lifestyle and are ready to keep up with this lovable ball of energy, Dozer will be your loyal sidekick, making every day an adventure. He’s fun, playful, and will definitely keep you on your toes – but don’t worry, he’ll always be there to cuddle after a long day of play! Dozer has the most squishable, kissable little face! And he's happy to get any and all affection you want to share. He also has the silkest soft ears that you will love to just rub! This guy is an awesome catch - so don't wait! As part of Dozer’s $300 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Dozer, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2282675##
