Story
Chloe was born on November 22, 2023. She’s a good dog, just doesn’t get along with my other dog. She just needs to be the only pet. She has a lot of energy and needs a yard or a lot of walks. She is great around kids and babies.

Story
Our beautiful Gracie Ann... what can we tell you about her in this short bio? She was found some months back, dumped in a grocery store parking lot. Alone and scared. No idea why she was dumped, no idea what she had done wrong to be deserted. One of our rescue partners called us and we jumped into action! While, we normally cannot take dogs larger than 35#, we couldn't say "no". She needed us! Gracie joined the pack of one of our fabulous fosters and fell into the role of loving life, indoors and warm! When Gracie came to us, we thought she was pregnant. Her stomach was full like she was ready to give birth. We waited. No puppies. She ate a lot.... still no puppies. We took her to the vet and confirmed, not pregnant but was in heat. Her foster mom would be out of town for a few weeks, and we would have her spayed when she returned. Gracie started losing weight rapidly. We rushed her to the vet and found out that she had pyometra. This is life or death! One vet wanted to put her to sleep because the procedure is so costly! For a rescue, $5k is a lot to absorb! We got a second opinion and are so glad that we did! Our vet gave us hope! Gracie had the surgery that afternoon and it was touch and go for a while. She stayed in the hospital for days. Today, she is fully healthy! Her bloodwork is perfect! Gracie is 23 months old. She is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative and on prevention. She is spayed and chipped. Gracie is housetrained and can be trusted outside of a crate. She is such a great dog! She will do best in a home with another dog as she LOVES to play, and we do not feel that placing her without a companion is in her best interest. If you have room in your home and your heart for this sweetheart of a girl, please complete the adoption application, below: https://acfrescue.weebly.com/adoption-foster-and-volunteer-applications.html

Story
Our dogs are fostered and located in North Carolina until adopted. Once adopted we can transport to your location or to one of the other north eastern locations. We have a cost effective transporter who runs every other week. This sweetie was born 12-1-22. She is a boxer mix. She is a bit shy until she gets to know you. However, she warms up fast. She likes everyone and is good with kids. She does well with other dogs but she does not like cats. She is potty trained and crate trained. She really is the sweetest humble soul ever! This pup is current in all age appropriate vaccines, preventives, heartworm tested and on prevention and microchipped. She will be spayed prior to going to her new home. The adopter will get all the health records with the adoption. We require a prescreen application to adopt. You can get that on the website at www.saveamuttkennel.net

Story
**Meet Monkey Bread – The Sweet and Shy Companion** Monkey Bread is a timid and gentle pup who may take some time to adjust to new environments, but once he feels safe and trusts his human, he blossoms into a loving and loyal companion. While he’s naturally nervous at first, a little patience and some tasty treats help him become braver and more confident in his surroundings. On walks, Monkey Bread is a joy to take along. He walks beautifully on a leash, only pulling mildly when he gets excited. When he spots other dogs from a distance, he’s more curious than reactive, offering a slight tail wag before easily returning to his own exploration. He enjoys taking his time on walks, sniffing and discovering, making him the perfect companion for those who enjoy a leisurely stroll. After his first walk, Monkey Bread quickly warms up and transforms into a snuggle bug once he’s in a familiar space. He thrives on the bond he forms with his human and, when he feels comfortable, he’s all about cozying up for some quality cuddle time. Although he’s a bit scared of the car, he allows you to gently pick him up and settle him in, showing his trust in you. Monkey Bread is looking for a patient, loving home where he can continue to grow and build confidence. With time, love, and reassurance, he will become the most affectionate and loyal companion, ready to offer all the love and cuddles he has to give. As always, we strongly recommend bringing any resident dogs to the shelter for a meet and greet with potential new family members to be sure it's a good match. If bringing a dog for a meet and greet, please bring proof of up to date rabies, bordetella, and DHPP vaccines. To meet your future pet, come to Guilford County Animal Services between 12 and 4 any day except Tuesday!
