Story
(DOB 07/29/2021) **SWEET DOG ALERT** Meet Evie, the charming American Bulldog mix with an abundance of love to share! This sweet girl is always eager to receive affection and is ready to shower you with kisses. You can count on her to be your biggest cheerleader, joyfully greeting you when you return from work or school. Evie is great with kids--she is amazing with the foster home's 4-year-old.  While she has a gentle spirit, she can be a little shy in new environments and around unfamiliar people. With a slow approach and some patience, she will quickly warm up and shower you with love. Fabulous with other dogs, Evie enjoys romping around with her furry friends and is a fan of doggie daycare. She loves having the opportunity to run and play in her foster's fenced yard, but a fenced yard isn’t a necessity for her as long as her family is active and can provide plenty of walks and adventures. After her daily exercise, Evie is content to relax in her crate or snuggle up beside you for a cozy nap. While she thrives on companionship, she would also be perfectly happy as an only dog, relishing all the one-on-one attention from her family. Evie is excellent on a leash, making her a wonderful companion for your daily strolls. Plus, she’s crate and house trained—what a bonus! She also loves car rides, so feel free to pack her up and take her along for the journey, as being your co-pilot is one of her favorite pastimes. Evie enjoys her food and treats but isn’t overly motivated by high-value snacks. She takes treats gently and is a real sweetheart, allowing you to easily take toys from her without fuss. If you’re looking to add a loving and delightful member to your family, Evie is the perfect match. She truly embodies sweetness and would thrive in a nurturing environment. As part of Evie’s $300 adoption fee, she will be spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little girl, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Evie, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2149816##

Story
(DOB 5/20/2024) Due to Zuma’s young age, he has not yet been neutered.  For this reason, we are only considering local placement (within 1 hour drive time of Wake Forest NC).  First and foremost, Zuma will need a home with at least one PLAYFUL dog. A dog young and patient enough to want to be a fun and gentle playmate for him as well as a good doggie-role model. Puppies naturally learn from other dogs and build confidence, bite inhibition and boundaries from their older doggie siblings. Zuma has happily adjusted to his new foster family and has a calm confidence at his young age. Though, he is a bit more reserved than his two brothers and is quieter and more observant. As if, he is" reading the room". Zuma is a puppy that is always happy and appreciative of everything you do for him. He enjoys affection like any other puppy would. He is quite the love bug and will snort and snuggle up to you; he is adorable!! If you have the time and energy for a brand new puppy which includes positive and lots of different adventures and activities to start their young development, ready for adolescent behavior, and want to help cute Zuma to grow into a well-behaved adult dog, then let's chat! Puppies need a lot of time attention, so someone who is at home the majority of the day is neeeded. No 8+ hour work or school days away from home. They need lots of potty breaks to quickly work on proper potty training and lots of interval play time. He is at the pee, poop, play, eat and sleep routine of life. Plus, it is already a great time to begin basic manners. They are sponges and their little brains are growing rapidly at this age. We encourage LOTS of activities outside of the home. The more places, people and things young Zuma is introduce to early on the better his socialization skills become. Positive reinforcement puppy classes are a great opportunity as well. Zuma is good with kids and if there are children in his forever family, it is best if they are older. Puppies are teething and are notorious for putting everything in their mouths (just like young children) and their mouths have very sharp baby teeth. Little kids fingers, toes, or other body parts are fair game as Zuma is playing and having a good time. Zuma wouldn't want to accidently hurt a toddler. This is a good reminder to have a variety of toys and different daily activities to keep Zuma's young mind and body active. As we like to say, a well behaved puppy is a tired puppy...once Zuma has had is interval playtimes throughout the day, he will be happy to nap and snuggle. To that end, his new family should have a least one person home most of the time for several reasons; puppies not only need regular playtimes, they need a solid routine for potty training, and they need socialization. Puppies need to meet, do, see, go to as many new places, things, etc. in their 1st year to build their personalities and overall confidence. Ready, willing, able; then so is Zuma!! As part of Zuma’s $325 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. In addition to the adoption fee, a $100 spay/neuter deposit and puppy spay/neuter agreement will also be required. The deposit will be returned once the puppy is altered.  If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Zuma, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2149823##

Story
(DOB 5/20/2024) Due to Marshall’s young age, he has not yet been neutered.  For this reason, we are only considering local placement (within 1 hour drive time of Wake Forest NC).  First and foremost, Marshall will need a home with at least one PLAYFUL dog. A dog young and patient enough to want to be a fun and gentle playmate for him as well as a good doggie-role model. Puppies naturally learn from other dogs and build confidence, bite inhibition and boundaries from their older doggie siblings. Marshall is literally the Big Brother of his litter. Marshall is the largest of the litter, and he let's his baby sister know who's the boss! But just like the others, he wants love and affection and is happy to return it!! Adorable, confident, and adventurous is how we would describe Marshall. He enjoys being the “voice of the group” and is very playful. Marshall loves to engage in playful banter but when it’s time to relax, he will grab his chew toy and chill out for a relax for a bit. Cuddles and playing is the name of the game for Marshall! If you have the time and energy for a brand new puppy which includes positive and lots of different adventures and activities to start their young development, ready for adolescent behavior, and want to help cute Marshall to grow into a well-behaved adult dog, then let's chat! They need lots of potty breaks to quickly work on proper potty training and lots of interval play time. Though Marshall is good with kids, older children are best due to his young age, sharp baby teeth, and teething period. Little toes, fingers and just about anything else may find its way into Marshall mouth. He is at the pee, poop, play, eat and sleep routine of life. Plus, it is already a great time to begin basic manners. They are sponges and their little brains are growing rapidly at this age. We encourage LOTS of activities outside of the home. The more places, people and things young Marshall is introduce to early on the better his socialization skills become. Positive reinforcement puppy classes are a great opportunity as well. Marshall has the cutest pink and black speckled nose and just the happies, smile that reaches from ear to ear. If those to things don't just brighten up your day, we don't know what will! He is absolutely adorable and will wiggle his way right into your arms and heart. Ready, willing, able then so is Marshall! As part of Marshall’s $325 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. Story
Love and Harmony too! Peace is bringing it all and she is just the cutest boxer mix girl wrapped up in a petite body with all of the lovable and adorable features of a boxer. Lean and with a squared off black nose, Peace is an adult who weighs about 28 lbs but is a bit on the lean side still. This gal has a great energy level and will be able to keep up and be on the go with you and yours as easily as she will be able to hang out on a cool Sunday afternoon and make the most of snacking and Netflix-ing at the same time. She does well with other dogs but could also fly solo and could fit in most any home. She is a gorgeous chick waiting to bring the trio of Peace, Love and Harmony to your house! She is legit groovy!

Story
Cha cha cha...to the left cha cha cha....to the right....cha cha cha....it's all the Cha Cha all the time and we LOVE it! Cha Cha is a brindle Boxer mix lady who is an adult weighing about 50 lbs on the lean side. Cha Cha has done the momma thing and now she is ready to do the "Me Dancing Thing" with some great forever peeps. Cha Cha may not been a teenager but she sure can keep up. She loves to run the fields at the farm and does great with other dogs but definitely does not need a doggo friend to be happy. She is so appreciative of attention and a good meal and will likely be your shadow in short stay. Cha Cha is ready to dance the dance of a free woman, with no more mothering duties and with a life time of spoiling ahead of her. You may be her perfect partner!
