Story
Our family will be moving cross-country to California next summer for a one-year work-related obligation. We have been brainstorming ways to transport our 9-yr old Pit Mix, Wilbur, with our vet. We’ve cared for Wilbur since we rescued him from the Wake County SPCA in August of 2018. Since then, he has been a beloved member of our household. We do not know what his background is, except that he has a BB pellet scarred into his ear and foreign bodies in his skin that led us to believe he was not in a loving home. We have two toddler boys, ages 1 and 3, and Wilbur is like a brother to them. Unfortunately, he has severe anxiety when traveling, and we are afraid he will not survive the trip either flying or driving cross-country even with anti-anxiety medications on board. His vet is in agreement and recommends keeping him in state.

Story
45lbs. She is very smart and picks up on new tricks very quickly. She knows basics like sit, down, stay, bed, shake (her favorite) and is beginning to learn to heel and center. She is very cuddly and eager to please for a treat! She loves food, especially cheese and peanut butter. Lola generally does well with people and dogs, but tends to not do as well with small dogs. She loves attention. Overall, she is a very sweet pupper and just wants to play with balls, be outside, and receive affection. I cannot keep her because I now work long days and don’t have the time/space to play with her as much as she deserves. Adoption fee is just to ensure she goes to a good home.

Story
I adopted Molly in July of 2023. Not much was known about her history other than she was used purely for breeding and she is 3 1/2-ish. She was kept outside in a very small wire cage, was severely malnourished, and dehydrated. The number of litters she had is unknown. Once rescued, she was spayed but tested positive for heartworms. She has finished her heart work meds and I will be taking her to the vet for a checkup within the next week. When I met Molly I fell in love with her. Despite all the horror I can o it Imagine she has experienced, she is so loving. Being with people makes her smile (so do mashed potatoes…they’re her favorite). She is still skiddish around loud noises or quick movements. She has loved every 2-legged friend she has met so far. And she is ok with my male dog (that’s the only male she has been around so I’m not sure if she is ok with all males). But…she is NOT female dog friendly. I have 4 other female dogs in my home so unfortunately Molly can’t stay. I want to find her a home where she can be the Queen! She deserves nothing less. Please email amanda.zimmer1983@gmail.com with any questions!

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All Best Friend Pet Adoption dogs require an approved Best Friend Pet Adoption application. The link to our application is  https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=WHMSYCNC.  It can also be found on Eno's bio page at bfpa.org.  Who is looking for an older puppy who has good house manners and is housebroken?  Look no further, Eno is your girl!  Eno is very friendly with other people!  She loves everyone she meets.  Eno has been around, 4 yo and a 10 yo children.   She gets very excited but I insist “No jump” and she will sit down.  Eno is housebroken but still needs to go outside on regular potty breaks. She isn't a fan of being crated but I leave her loose in the house for 2-3 hours and there are no accidents.  She isn't destructive and has good house manners. Eno is very friendly with other dogs. She currently lives with a larger dog and two cats.  She would probably do fine with a dog savvy cat.   Eno loves to potty and play in her little fenced in courtyard best but is learning to walk gently on a leash.  Eno’s has a lot of energy though she does sleep through the night and takes a nap every afternoon.  She is a gentle pup and can occupy herself for long periods of time with her toys. She especially loves a deer antler to gnaw on.  Eno’s new home can have a furry friend or she would do well being the center of attention as a solo dog also.   Eno can't wait to see what exciting adventures life has waiting for her once she finds her forever home! She is packing up her toys already and can't wait to meet you. Please consider making Eno a part of your family.  She is a joy!  EVERY DOG HAS A STORY:   Eno's mother (Tiki) was rescued from a shelter and we didn't know she was pregnant. Her foster came home and discovered she had a litter of four sweet girls waiting for her.  What a surprise! Maybe you can open your home for one of these lucky puppies. They love dogs and all people.      Some of the information contained in this biography includes approximations based on our expertise and is not guaranteed.  Applicants should live no more than an hour away from Raleigh/Durham. For the perfect home, we may consider applicants who live a bit  further away.  INTERESTED IN ADOPTING ENO? Meet Selena! This super sweet, energetic, and loving girl is ready for her forever home! She is an absolute goofball and is welcoming to any and everyone. It's hard not to fall in love with her. Selena is fully potty trained and has had no accidents despite recently living in a boarding facility. Selena is a high energy dog who loves to run around and burn off lots of energy! Her favorite thing to do is go on a long walk at the end of the day. Selena would thrive with an owner who can dedicate a couple of hours a day of exercising her. Selena would best fit in a home with no cats or small animals given her history of liking to chase small animals. Selena is quite the escape artist and can break out of a normal wire crate. She is also super snuggly and loves getting lots of attention. She does have a heart murmur that has been assessed by a cardiologist - she has no symptoms, so she is currently on a twice a day pill that she takes in a treat! If you're looking for a sweet, cuddly, and energetic pup, Selena might be the perfect match for you!Adoption fee of $150 includes spay, microchip, vaccines, deworming, heartworm testing, and heartworm/flea/tick preventionApply here: https://2pawsup.org/applications/adoption-application/November 3, 2024, 1:08 am

Story
Meet *Tricky Ricky*, the little pizza pup with a big heart! Named after a specialty from a local pizza menu, this adorable pitbull mix puppy is as unique and lovable as his name. Tricky Ricky is a curious little guy with a gentle, playful nature, always exploring his surroundings with a wagging tail and bright eyes. His favorite activities include tumbling with his littermates, eating chicken jerky, and snuggling up after a fun day. This guy is such a ham, he'll keep you entertained! Tricky Ricky has a very minor Grade 1 heart murmur that the vet thinks will likely go away with age, but until then it should be monitored. Otherwise he's in great shape! With his sweet personality and eager-to-please attitude, Tricky Ricky is ready to bring a slice of joy to his future family. Could he be the perfect match for you?

Story
Hi everyone, my name is RJ! I'm a 3 month old pittie mix bundle of joy. I'm an energetic, friendly, and loving boy who's looking for his forever home. I'm young, but I'm already on my way to being fully housebroken and know some basic commands. I'm very food motivated and will be easy to train. I play with my foster sister all day long, so I'd do well with other friendly dogs in a home. I'm a puppy, so I have an accident in the house every once in a while, and I might not ALWAYS listen, but I'm so sweet and cute that I make up for it. If you're looking for a smart, loving, and good boy to add to your family, I'd love to meet you!
