Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. ARCHIE is a courtesy listed dog. He is not a part of Best Friend Pet Adoption. We are helping to find a new home for him. You must contact his owner directly. Please contact Katie at kbelton95@gmail.com  if you are interested in finding out more about sweet ARCHIE.   Archie is a 7  year old, 60 lb boxer mix who needs a new home.  His owners adopted him from the SPCA when he was around 2 years old. He is fearful of strangers and now that they have a one year old child, Archie is fearful of the child. He may act assertive around new people but is not aggressive. With a child this young, the owners feel that he would be much happier in a home without children.  Perhaps older, experience children who understand a fearful dog, but not young  children.   Archie gets along fine with the small dog in his current home. He could also be an only dog.  He hasn't had exposure to cats.  He is crate trained and housebroken. He used to sleep in his crate but doesn't need to be crated at night now. He is also neutered  and microchipped.   Archie is used to staying outside or n his crate while the owners are away from the house. He has moderate energy and loves walking, hiking but also enjoys his sleeping time!   What are is favorite pastimes.... walking, hiking, tennis balls and stealing blankets off couches to make nests . He is probably not a good fit for living in an apartment,   He would prefer a fenced yard because he’s used to it but he would be ok with regular walks and potty breaks.  Archie is a very sweet boy once he trusts you.  He loves scratches and treats! He is very smart and knows a few tricks and will do anything for cheese! His first and strongest love is for blankets, which he hoards as often as possible. He loves to make nests and snuggle into them! He is very obedient, doesn’t get on furniture and walks well on a leash! He just needs an experienced owner who will love him and help him with his fears! You must contact his owner directly. Please contact Katie at  kbelton95@gmail.com   if you are interested in finding out more about sweet ARCHIE.   ARCHIE  is a courtesy listed dog.  This means that he is not a part of or associated with Best Friend Pet Adoption (BFPA). The bio information listed for him was provided by his owner and not generated or verified by BFPA. Adoption arrangements will be a private arrangement between you and the owner.  As with any dog adoption, BFPA encourages potential adopters to gain as much information as possible before adopting. This includes temperament testing and verification of vet records to ensure the dog is in good health, UTD on vaccinations and has been sterilized.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 6, 2024, 4:27 pm

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All Best Friend Pet Adoption dogs require an approved Best Friend Pet Adoption application. The link to our application is  https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=WHMSYCNC.  It can also be found on bfpa.org.    FOSTER COMMENTS:   Meet 3-4 month old Eno.  She is one of the Hawaiian Litter puppies.  Her momma, Tiki, is a 3 year old 30 lb rat terrier mix who is also pictured above.  We feel that Eno will be larger and probably at least 50 lbs when full grown.   Eno is very friendly with other people!  She loves everyone she meets.  Eno has been around, 4 yo and a 10 yo children.   She gets very excited but I insist “No jump” and she will sit down.  Puppies may nibble, bite and mouth so may not be appropriate for very young children unless they have had experience around dogs/puppies. We are working on potty training for Eno and she is getting better every day.  We use a crate for her but she can cry in it for hours.  I Leave her loose in the house for 2-3 hours and there are no accidents, and no damage, except an occasional magazine.  She has good house manners and can grow into not needing the crate.  Eno is very friendly with other dogs. I have introduced her to my pitbull and my girlfriend’s CaviPoo. No trouble at all.   We have two failed foster cats and they are all figuring it out.  A hiss from the cats tells Eno to back off.  Eno barks when the cats hiss at her but then they go their separate ways.  Eno loves to potty and play in her little fenced in courtyard best but is learning to walk gently on a leash.  I walk her with my 70-lb pitbull, Charlotte, and they stick together.  Eno’s activity level is high energy though she does sleep through the night and takes a nap with us every afternoon.  She is a gentle pup (though mouthy while her teeth are coming in).  She can occupy herself for long periods of time with her sisters’ toys. She especially loves a small deer antler to gnaw on.  Eno’s new home can have a furry friend or she would do well being the center of attention too.    Eno can't wait to see what exciting adventures life has waiting for her once she finds her forever home! She is packing up her toys already and can't wait to meet you. Please consider making Eno a part of your family.  She is a joy!  EVERY DOG HAS A STORY:   Eno's mother (Tiki) was rescued from a shelter and we didn't know she was pregnant. Her foster came home and discovered she had a litter of four sweet girls waiting for her.  What a surprise! Maybe you can open your home for one of these lucky puppies. They love dogs and all people.      Puppies may nibble, bite and mouth so may not be appropriate for very young children unless they have had experience around dogs/puppies.  Some of the information contained in this biography includes approximations based on our expertise and is not guaranteed.  Applicants for puppies should ideally live 30 minutes from Cary NC (no further than one hour) since Eno must receive medical care in the Cary area. Best Friend Pet Adoption will cover all medical cost for Eno until she is spayed when she is 6 months old. Eno can start a trial adoption now and the adoption will be finalized after she is spayed.       INTERESTED IN ADOPTING ENO? Story
Meet Selena! This super sweet, energetic, and loving girl is ready for her forever home! She is an absolute goofball and is welcoming to any and everyone. It's hard not to fall in love with her. Selena is fully potty trained and has had no accidents despite recently living in a boarding facility. Selena is a high energy dog who loves to run around and burn off lots of energy! Her favorite thing to do is go on a long walk at the end of the day. Selena would thrive with an owner who can dedicate a couple of hours a day of exercising her. Selena would best fit in a home with no cats or small animals given her history of liking to chase small animals. Selena is quite the escape artist and can break out of a normal wire crate. She is also super snuggly and loves getting lots of attention. She does have a heart murmur that has been assessed by a cardiologist - she has no symptoms, so she is currently on a twice a day pill that she takes in a treat! If you're looking for a sweet, cuddly, and energetic pup, Selena might be the perfect match for you!Adoption fee of $150 includes spay, microchip, vaccines, deworming, heartworm testing, and heartworm/flea/tick preventionApply here: https://2pawsup.org/applications/adoption-application/November 3, 2024, 1:08 am

45lbs. She is very smart and picks up on new tricks very quickly. She knows basics like sit, down, stay, bed, shake (her favorite) and is beginning to learn to heel and center. She is very cuddly and eager to please for a treat! She loves food, especially cheese and peanut butter. Lola generally does well with people and dogs, but tends to not do as well with small dogs. She loves attention. Overall, she is a very sweet pupper and just wants to play with balls, be outside, and receive affection. I cannot keep her because I now work long days and don’t have the time/space to play with her as much as she deserves. Adoption fee is just to ensure she goes to a good home.

Story
I adopted Molly in July of 2023. Not much was known about her history other than she was used purely for breeding and she is 3 1/2-ish. She was kept outside in a very small wire cage, was severely malnourished, and dehydrated. The number of litters she had is unknown. Once rescued, she was spayed but tested positive for heartworms. She has finished her heart work meds and I will be taking her to the vet for a checkup within the next week. When I met Molly I fell in love with her. Despite all the horror I can o it Imagine she has experienced, she is so loving. Being with people makes her smile (so do mashed potatoes…they’re her favorite). She is still skiddish around loud noises or quick movements. She has loved every 2-legged friend she has met so far. And she is ok with my male dog (that’s the only male she has been around so I’m not sure if she is ok with all males). But…she is NOT female dog friendly. I have 4 other female dogs in my home so unfortunately Molly can’t stay. I want to find her a home where she can be the Queen! She deserves nothing less. Please email amanda.zimmer1983@gmail.com with any questions!

Story
Meet Niko, a vibrant 4.5-year-old Boxer mix, brimming with energy and a fun-loving spirit. This lively pup adores car rides and delights in indulging in pup cups from his favorite coffee shops. Niko is well-mannered, being both house and crate trained, proficient in basic commands, and always gentle when taking treats.Enthusiastic about walks, Niko is quite skilled on a leash, but could benefit from further training in this area. A secure, fenced-in backyard would be the perfect space for him to thrive. As an eager learner, Niko's food motivation makes him all the more endearing and devoted to his human companions.Niko yearns to be your best friend, following you around, cuddling, and giving affectionate kisses. His loving personality truly stands out and will win your heart. He will flourish with an attentive owner who can provide the attention he craves. While Niko's compatibility with cats remains uncertain, he bonds well with his foster sibling, but can be selective when it comes to meeting new dogs. At his core, Niko is a gentle giant, with a tender heart that is easily frightened by thunder and lightning. If you are interested in this animal please start by filling out an adoption application at http://www.CFP-NC.org/adoptions and we will get in touch with you.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All dogs on the Best Friend Pet Adoption  website ARE available and require an approved Best Friend Pet Adoption application before you can be considered or meet any of our dogs.  The link to our application is   https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=WHMSYCNC      Pluto is an affectionate, 70 pound, neutered male dog.  Pluto is very sweet, healthy, and happy. He is up-to-date on his vaccinations and the vet estimates his age as 6 years old.   Pluto is great with people (including kids) and most dogs. His favorite things include pets, cuddles, naps, and chew toys. He keeps himself entertained but will chase after toys and gets excited when we take him for walks or on a drive.    Pluto plays well with our other dogs, however, we have noticed that he can be possessive  over toys if boundaries are not set. He is house-trained and not possessive over food. He is quiet and will only briefly bark when we have a package or visitor. He will use the bathroom in a fenced yard or on a leash.  He has met one cat. He was not aggressive but seems to have a prey drive so he would do best in a home without cats. He is fine in the yard with our chickens even without supervision. We feel Pluto could be with other dogs or as an only dog.   Pluto is crate trained; however, he does not need a crate. He prefers to be out of his crate. He is well mannered so he is allowed to free roam even when we are not home.  He knows where he is allowed to go and what toys he can play with.  He is used to us being gone during that day for work. We check up on him on the dog camera and he is usually sleeping.    At night, Pluto sleeps on a couch, recliner, or dog bed depending on his preference. He does prefer to sleep with us but snores way too loud.  Pluto is a wonderful dog who is gentle, and friendly. He is always ready to snuggle up next to you on the couch and receive pets. He will make a great family pet.  Could you consider giving him the loving home he  deserves?  EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Pluto was found abandoned on the side of the road in October 2023. A BFPA volunteer found him and took him in.  We are helping this sweet boy find his forever home.      Some of the information contained in this biography includes approximations based on our expertise and is not guaranteed.    Applicants should ideally live no further than one hour from Cary NC.  Our foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize adoptions.  For the perfect home for Pluto, we will considered approved applicants who live a bit further away from the Triangle area of NC.    INTERESTED IN ADOPTING PLUTO? Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.  All dogs on our website ARE available and require an approved Best Friend Pet Adoption application before you can be considered or meet any of our dogs. Please consider this sweet girl today! Here is our application:    https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=WHMSYCNC Frannie is a sweet and beautiful, Blue Brindle Pittie. She's about 2 years old and weighs around 45-50lbs. She is gentle natured with lots of personality. She's super cute and will give you a silly, full body "giggle" wag! She loves being with her people and is a wonderful companion. Frannie has done well with her crate training and house breaking. She needs to be crated when left home alone (6-7 hours), and as of now she is crated overnight. She's food & toy motivated, eager to please and is learning basic manners. She is gentle with food and waits patiently for her meals. At times, she still acts like a puppy but also likes to chill on a dog bed and entertain herself with a bone or toy. Frannie overall has great leash manners. She can be an alert barker and would do best in a home not an apartment. Although, she goes potty well on leash, she would really enjoy a fenced yard to get her "zoomies" out. She has a moderate energy level and after playtime with her foster siblings, she enjoys exploring the yard and sunbathing on porch or lounging on couch/bed. She also likes to play fetch and is learning to bring back. Frannie would do best with good natured, neutered male dog that could help guide her when she's unsure. She would do OK as a solo dog also as she loves getting attention from her humans. She would do best with older kids (8+). She's good with "dog savvy" cats, but if kitty is shy and runs, the chase may be fun. Slow and appropriate intros are always recommended with kitties. Frannie had an unstable start to life and has some insecurities, but she will open up quickly with treats and sweet talk. She would succeed greatly with an experienced owner that can continue to build her confidence. Please consider adopting (or fostering) this sweet little lady! Check out Frannie's videos below!
