Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. ARCHIE is a courtesy listed dog. He is not a part of Best Friend Pet Adoption. We are helping to find a new home for him. You must contact his owner directly. Please contact Katie at kbelton95@gmail.com  if you are interested in finding out more about sweet ARCHIE.   Archie is a 7  year old, 60 lb boxer mix who needs a new home.  His owners adopted him from the SPCA when he was around 2 years old. He is fearful of strangers and now that they have a one year old child, Archie is fearful of the child. He may act assertive around new people but is not aggressive. With a child this young, the owners feel that he would be much happier in a home without children.  Perhaps older, experience children who understand a fearful dog, but not young  children.   Archie gets along fine with the small dog in his current home. He could also be an only dog.  He hasn't had exposure to cats.  He is crate trained and housebroken. He used to sleep in his crate but doesn't need to be crated at night now. He is also neutered  and microchipped.   Archie is used to staying outside or n his crate while the owners are away from the house. He has moderate energy and loves walking, hiking but also enjoys his sleeping time!   What are is favorite pastimes.... walking, hiking, tennis balls and stealing blankets off couches to make nests . He is probably not a good fit for living in an apartment,   He would prefer a fenced yard because he’s used to it but he would be ok with regular walks and potty breaks.  Archie is a very sweet boy once he trusts you.  He loves scratches and treats! He is very smart and knows a few tricks and will do anything for cheese! His first and strongest love is for blankets, which he hoards as often as possible. He loves to make nests and snuggle into them! He is very obedient, doesn’t get on furniture and walks well on a leash! He just needs an experienced owner who will love him and help him with his fears! You must contact his owner directly. Please contact Katie at  kbelton95@gmail.com   if you are interested in finding out more about sweet ARCHIE.   ARCHIE  is a courtesy listed dog.  This means that he is not a part of or associated with Best Friend Pet Adoption (BFPA). The bio information listed for him was provided by his owner and not generated or verified by BFPA. Adoption arrangements will be a private arrangement between you and the owner.  As with any dog adoption, BFPA encourages potential adopters to gain as much information as possible before adopting. This includes temperament testing and verification of vet records to ensure the dog is in good health, UTD on vaccinations and has been sterilized.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 6, 2024, 4:27 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All Best Friend Pet Adoption dogs require an approved Best Friend Pet Adoption application. The link to our application is  https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=WHMSYCNC.  It can also be found on bfpa.org.    FOSTER COMMENTS:   Meet 3-4 month old Eno.  She is one of the Hawaiian Litter puppies.  Her momma, Tiki, is a 3 year old 30 lb rat terrier mix who is also pictured above.  We feel that Eno will be larger and probably at least 50 lbs when full grown.   Eno is very friendly with other people!  She loves everyone she meets.  Eno has been around, 4 yo and a 10 yo children.   She gets very excited but I insist “No jump” and she will sit down.  Puppies may nibble, bite and mouth so may not be appropriate for very young children unless they have had experience around dogs/puppies. We are working on potty training for Eno and she is getting better every day.  We use a crate for her but she can cry in it for hours.  I Leave her loose in the house for 2-3 hours and there are no accidents, and no damage, except an occasional magazine.  She has good house manners and can grow into not needing the crate.  Eno is very friendly with other dogs. I have introduced her to my pitbull and my girlfriend’s CaviPoo. No trouble at all.   We have two failed foster cats and they are all figuring it out.  A hiss from the cats tells Eno to back off.  Eno barks when the cats hiss at her but then they go their separate ways.  Eno loves to potty and play in her little fenced in courtyard best but is learning to walk gently on a leash.  I walk her with my 70-lb pitbull, Charlotte, and they stick together.  Eno’s activity level is high energy though she does sleep through the night and takes a nap with us every afternoon.  She is a gentle pup (though mouthy while her teeth are coming in).  She can occupy herself for long periods of time with her sisters’ toys. She especially loves a small deer antler to gnaw on.  Eno’s new home can have a furry friend or she would do well being the center of attention too.    Eno can't wait to see what exciting adventures life has waiting for her once she finds her forever home! She is packing up her toys already and can't wait to meet you. Please consider making Eno a part of your family.  She is a joy!  EVERY DOG HAS A STORY:   Eno's mother (Tiki) was rescued from a shelter and we didn't know she was pregnant. Her foster came home and discovered she had a litter of four sweet girls waiting for her.  What a surprise! Maybe you can open your home for one of these lucky puppies. They love dogs and all people.      Puppies may nibble, bite and mouth so may not be appropriate for very young children unless they have had experience around dogs/puppies.  Some of the information contained in this biography includes approximations based on our expertise and is not guaranteed.  Applicants for puppies should ideally live 30 minutes from Cary NC (no further than one hour) since Eno must receive medical care in the Cary area. Best Friend Pet Adoption will cover all medical cost for Eno until she is spayed when she is 6 months old. Eno can start a trial adoption now and the adoption will be finalized after she is spayed.       INTERESTED IN ADOPTING ENO? There's nothing I love more than snuggling up with my humans for some quality bonding time. Get ready for lots of warmth and love, especially during movie time! Leash Learning Pro: I may be new to this whole leash thing, but I'm eager to learn! I'm learning not to pull but every walk is an adventure, and I'm excited to explore the world by your side. Food Enthusiast and Trust Builder: I'm cautious at first, but I quickly warm up to people, especially if they offer me tasty treats! Food is the key to my heart, and once you have my trust, I'll love you forever. So let's bond over some delicious snacks and build a lifelong friendship together! Friendly Socialite: Although I've attempted to engage in playful antics with my doggy brother, he prefers a more laid-back vibe. My parents think I may need to learn the art of sharing affection with other pups who match my energy and enthusiasm. So let's find some new furry friends to romp and play with together, as I navigate the world of canine camaraderie! I do well with small dogs and big dogs if they are not overly energetic. Story
We took Clyde in about 2 months ago from a family friend who was moving away and couldn't take him. We were worried if he would get along with our 9-year-old Maltese/Chihuahua so we immediately put him into a 4-week board & train program. Clyde returned from training as the most perfect dog. He is leash trained and knows commands both verbally and via hand-gestures. He is house trained and sleeps in his crate at night. Unfortunately, our 9-year-old Malchi will not take to Clyde. Even though he is much smaller, he tries to be very aggressive with Clyde. Clyde, in turn, wants to match that energy. We have tried trainers with our older dog too but he's just too set in his ways. Therefore, we sadly must find Clyde a new forever home. Clyde is the sweetest dog ever. He's incredible smart. He loves to play. He's my literal dream dog. But I guess it's just the wrong timing. He comes with his crate, bed, toys, bones, food.

Story
Hi! My name is Cedar! I am a male puppy with a big heart full of love. I am as sweet as can be, always ready with a friendly wag for everyone I meet. There's not a mean bone in my body. I am also confident, smart and curious. I do well with other dogs (my foster home has 3 big dogs and I love hanging out with them!) and I have met a cat but I didn't pay much attention to them. I have not met children. I am starting to learn the house training stuff... I know where to go when I am in my puppy pen and when I am outside I know to go potty. I have not begun crate training just yet but my foster mom thinks since I am so smart that I will take to sleeping in a crate no problem. My favorite thing? Cuddles! Yes, I am a playful and energetic pup but I also love nothing more than a good snuggle. I am still trying to figure out what toys are but I have figured out that the soft, fluffy ones are a lot of fun! I also love a peanut butter filled Kong...that is my favorite snack! I have been to the vet, so I am up to date on my shots and I am microchipped. I've been hearing my foster parents say what a good puppy I have been so I must be pretty special. I love them a lot but I would love anyone who showers me with love and affection. In return I promise to fill your life with joy, love and lots of cuddles! Please come meet me so you can see how special I am!
