Story
This beautiful girl joined Petrescue, and we named her Noelle. To say that Noelle had a difficult start in life, is an understatement. As incomprehensible as this sounds, Noelle was thrown out of a moving car. A Department of Transportation worker happened to witness this tragedy, and brought her to the police station. Fortunately she was not hurt and Petrescue was notified by the police. We picked Noelle up, brought her to Petrescue and she is now enjoying a new lease on life with us and doing well. She is a sweet girl, friendly with humans and other dogs. Her foster mom says she is PERFECT...sweet, playful, easy to train, housebroken, ...just the BEST. Be sure to complete an application on line and, come to our Meet & Greet Saturday 11:30-1:30. If you are interested in this dog, please submit an application directly to our website at www.ny-petrescue.org. Only applications submitted directly to Petrescue will be considered.

Story
Hi there! I’m Yogurt! I’m a sweet and playful 3-4-year-old boxer mix, weighing in at a lovable 60 pounds.  I’m super, super friendly, and I love other dogs, but would probably do best in a home as the only pup. I was patiently waiting at a shelter in Tennessee, but it’s gotten crowded because of all the dogs displaced by Hurricane Helene. I came in a stray, and nobody has come for me, so now I'm thrilled that I was lucky enough to come to NJ and find you! I am currently living with a foster family with older kids and I love them, but its not a forever kind of thing and I'm still on the hunt for my fur-ever. I'm looking for a very patient and low energy home, as I can sometime get anxious (especially when being outside - I'm still learning the ropes!) I recently learned how fun toys and balls can be. And then there's the nightly couch cuddle I can't resist. I do great in the crate when my family is not home and at night. I also know some basic manners like sit, paw and leave it.  If you’re looking to open your heart and home to a new best friend, please consider adopting me. When you bring me home, you’ll also make space for other dogs who are still waiting for help. You can apply at www.peace4paws.org/adoption-application. I can’t wait to meet you! Let’s make room for more friends in need.If you have specific adoption or foster questions, please email: judy.atchison@yahoo.com THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN RESCUING A DOG! Story
Meet Rusty, a lovable 6-year-old Boxer/Pitbull mix who is ready to find his forever home. Weighing in at 68 pounds, Rusty is a gentle giant who has spent the last few years in a loving home in South Carolina. Originally rescued from Kentucky, he’s had a life filled with care and affection but sadly his owner has recently fallen ill and can no longer care for him. While this is heartbreaking, it’s important to note that this is *no fault of Rusty’s own*—he’s simply a dog who is ready to find a new family to share his love with. Rusty is a smart, playful, and beautiful soul who is all about showing affection. His excitement is contagious—he does a full-body wiggle when he's happy, and he always greets you with a smile! He’s a well-mannered boy who will sit patiently while you put on his leash and waits politely for his dinner. Rusty is not destructive, and he doesn’t chew on things that aren’t his—he’s a calm presence in the home, making him a great fit for a more low-key environment. He’s great with other dogs and would thrive in a household with low-traffic teens or adults. Rusty isn’t recommended for a home with younger kids due to his size and strength, but in the right setting, he’ll be the loyal companion you’ve been looking for. Rusty is fully housetrained, up to date on all vaccines, and neutered. He loves car rides and is always up for an adventure, but after a day of fun, he’s happiest when he’s curled up next to his people, enjoying a quiet moment. Rusty is looking for a family that can offer him the love, stability, and comfort he deserves as he enters this new chapter of his life. If you're ready to open your heart to a dog who will bring nothing but love, joy, and loyalty into your home, Rusty is waiting for you. Apply to adopt him today at https://peace4paws.org/adoption-application. Rusty can’t wait to meet you and start this exciting new journey together! If you have specific adoption or foster questions, please email: judy.atchison@yahoo.com THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN RESCUING A DOG! Story
Introducing Brinda, a 5-6 year-old Boxer mix with a heart full of love and resilience. At 46 pounds, she’s a gentle and sweet girl who’s already proven herself to be a true gem. Despite a rough start—facing euthanasia due to overcrowding and a lack of interest in her—Brinda is ready to start fresh and find her forever family. Her journey hasn’t been easy. Brinda’s past left her with some scars, including the loss of her top teeth, possibly from being chained. But that doesn’t stop her from living her best life. She’s incredibly sweet, loving, and has quickly adapted to new experiences, like joining her first hike and doing wonderfully. She’s incredibly loyal and eager to share affection. Brinda is housebroken, crate trained, and knows how to sit on command. She's a chill girl who loves her walks and adventures, so she’d do well in a slightly active home. Brinda has been with a foster family in Kentucky for the time being and is said to be doing wonderful. There are 2 other pups in the house who she loves the company of, and has even taken on the nurturing motherly role with. She’s also great with cats and kids, making her a wonderful family companion. Her foster also mentioned she's not food aggressive in the slightest, and doesn't jump or bark. Brinda really is the full package. Thanks to her foster family in Kentucky, Brinda got the love she deserves but she’s now made her way to NJ and is still waiting for the perfect home where she can thrive. If you're looking for a sweet, loyal, and affectionate companion, Brinda might just be the perfect match for you. Apply today at https://peace4paws.org/adoption-application to meet this incredible girl and give her the second chance she’s been waiting for.If you have specific adoption or foster questions, please email: judy.atchison@yahoo.com THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN RESCUING A DOG! Story
Sage is two years old. She’s what she would call a pocket pity she’s about 32 to 35 pounds. She was surrendered only because the owners couldn’t have a dog any longer. She loves people she likes to sit next to you on a bench and just enjoy your company she likes to be pets, she likes most of the dogs but not every dog she could live with children, but they should be over 12. She’s the cutest little thing in the video. It will say she loves all dogs, but we found the dog she didn’t like after I made the video so I’m updating it , but I would say she was more than not

Story
Peteyhas been at the Shelter for a long time. He originally came in as a stray and it took him a while to settle in. He was very nervous and afraid when he first came in, but once he settled, we found that he was probably the smartest dog at the shelter, everyone loves him however he’s very strong and although he is dog friendly and people friendly, he needs basic manners. He needs to learn things like how to behave in the house how to not pull on the leash things that are easy to learn if he has some training, he could live with kids over 13 and of course he would have to meet another dog to make sure they got along before , he could live with them

Story
Trudi has been here about two weeks. This dog obviously had puppies and then was dumped dumped on a rooftop where Thank goodness a good Samaritan saw her and called the authorities as you can expect. She’s very shy but she’s getting better every day. She’s gained about 8 pounds since she’s been here as she was without food for a few days apparently, she’s a beautiful dog who with the right Owner, who has some patience for her, will be loyal and loved companion
