Bear Home Needed – Long Island, NY area Meet Bear. This sweet, social, older gentleman is looking for the perfect home to spend what’s left of his life. Bear is a large mixed breed weighing approx. 50lbs. He was surrendered by his people because they were moving, and Bear was not welcomed to move with them. He is slightly underweight and shows signs of neglect. Bear is a 12-year-old sweetheart who is looking for a retirement home; he has some health issues which PAWS will help support. Bear would do best in an initially calm and quiet home environment where he can be given time to acclimate to his new surroundings. He is low energy and spends most of his day napping….when he’s not asking for treats. Bear loves puzzle toys. He's really come out of his shell in the last few days, now that he’s safe and cared for. He’s friendly with dogs and seems to enjoy dogs with his energy level. He hasn’t had any exposure to cats. We'd love to see Bear spend his final years in a comfy and calm environment. This adorable little guy is Denver and we think he's a small Boxer & Hound mix who is approximately 2 years old and fully grown at 32 pounds although we think he could use a few extra pounds. He's a very sweet and loving guy who has a medium-low energy level. He gets along great with everyone he meets and all sizes of other dogs. He's very affectionate but can be a little shy when he first meets you but warms up quickly and then wants to be your best friend. He's a smart little guy who loves car rides and going for walks. He pulls a little on the leash but is getting much better with practice. He's such a great size and has a wonderful demeanor so he'll be a perfect family dog. He's fully vetted and crate trained too so he'll be easy to live with. He deserves a great family and we think he'd be great with kids. He'd love a fenced in backyard.
