We have a cost effective transporter who runs every other week. This sweetie was born 12-1-22. She is a boxer mix. She is a bit shy until she gets to know you. However, she warms up fast. This pup is current in all age appropriate vaccines, preventives, heartworm tested and on prevention and microchipped. She will be spayed prior to going to her new home. The adopter will get all the health records with the adoption. We require a prescreen application to adopt. With her always-wagging tail and eager-to-please personality, she’s your personal fan girl, ready to shower you with love and excitement. This sweet, fast little rocket could thrive in dog sports like fast CAT or agility but has a medium energy level—ready for play and exploration, then happy to settle as a couch hippo when it’s time to relax. Dog-friendly and a bit goofy around awkward pups, Aggie enjoys playing with her foster sisters and boyfriends, like Toby and the neighbor’s dogs. She’s making great progress on potty training and house manners, proving her intelligence and adaptability. Whether you’re looking for a yardwork buddy, a loyal companion, or a dog with the potential to earn ribbons, Aggie might be the perfect fit for your family. Thank you for checking out our wonderful orphans. We try to post videos for each pet so you can really get to know them. Story
Foxy is 9 months old, and she weighs about 30 pounds. This shy little girl would love a family to help her come out of her shell! Here at the shelter, Foxy is sometimes leery about being leashed for walks - but once she's got her leash on, she is ready to go. She quickly warms up, with lots of tail wags, and she responds well to gentle encouragement. Foxy must meet any resident dogs in a potential new home, to make sure they get along.

Story
Bubbles is an adult female Boxer Mix She is a stray who came in very underweight and depressed. Just during her short time with us, her “bubbly” personality has come alive! She is a sweet and playful girl who needs a little TLC. Bubbles will be spayed prior to adoption. This Path to Home group starts 11/14/24 for 8 weeks. Volunteers For Animals and Orleans Correctional Facility have developed a Dog Training & Fostering Program within the prison that will provide socialization and basic obedience training for the dogs before being adopted. Volunteers For Animals will be pulling dogs from high kill shelters and locally who may be in need of behavioral support to become more adoptable. The dogs will then be transported to Orleans Correctional Facility where they will live with selected inmates who will care for them 24 hours per day for approximately 8 weeks. Each dog will have a crate, bedding, leash, collar, training treats, and food provided by Volunteers For Animals. A certified dog trainer will provide weekly training classes for the dogs and the inmates. The inmates will then work daily to reinforce the formal training with the dogs. Adoption Procedures The adoption process includes an application that is completed by the potential owner. If there are multiple applications on the same animal, the animal will go to the best home for that particular animal - not necessarily the first application. Fees for the Path Home animals are $200 per animal which needs to be cash or a check - NO CREDIT CARDS. All of the dogs are current on vaccines, heart worm tested and spayed/neutered. If you would like to be considered for any of the Path to Home dogs, please email us. Please do not call the Shelter regarding Path Home animals - they do not have any information. Email us at info@vol4animals.org regarding this program.  Here is the adoption process:   To adopt an animal you must complete an application and be approved. There is a $60 fee for any animal which needs to be cash or a check - NO CREDIT CARDS. If the animal is not spayed or neutered, there is a $35 deposit which will be returned upon proof of surgery. All dogs must be licensed before leaving the Shelter. Please note that public offices that issue dog licenses are not open on Saturdays and Sundays. All cats must leave in a carrier.   Thank you for considering a homeless animal.November 10, 2024, 2:23 pm
