Story
Meet Rosie, a super sweet girl with a heart as big as Texas! Rosie had a bit of an adventurous stint as a stray, but now she's all set to find her perfect forever home.Rosie is a furry socialite who gets along wonderfully with her fellow doggie pals. However, she does have one little quirk—cats and Rosie aren't exactly a match made in heaven. Those frisky felines tend to trigger her playful chase instincts! When it comes to humans, Rosie is a total cuddlebug. She's convinced she's a lap dog and won't hesitate to hop right up for some quality snuggle time. But here's the fun part: Rosie's got a spirited teenage attitude. When she's told "no" or caught doing something she shouldn't, she's not one to back down quietly—she'll talk back with all the sass!If you're ready to bring a sweet and silly addition to your family, Rosie is more than prepared for her forever home. And yes, she's absolutely transportable, so don't let the Texas distance discourage you, transport only costs $230. Apply today and let the fun begin! Online Application: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=ch2817&method=online_form_html&formid=41*Disclaimer: This pet is located in Texas. Once adoption is finalized the pet will be transported to the adopters location for an additional fee (currently $230-$250).* The adoption fee helps to cover some of the cost of vetting the animal prior to adoption (spay/neuter, microchipping, and up to date vaccinations). Please fill out an adoption application to be considered for adoption. https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=ch2817&method=online_form_html&formid=41

Story
Bubbles is an adult female Boxer Mix She is a stray who came in very underweight and depressed. Just during her short time with us, her “bubbly” personality has come alive! She is a sweet and playful girl who needs a little TLC. Bubbles will be spayed prior to adoption. This Path to Home group starts 11/14/24 for 8 weeks. Volunteers For Animals and Orleans Correctional Facility have developed a Dog Training & Fostering Program within the prison that will provide socialization and basic obedience training for the dogs before being adopted. Volunteers For Animals will be pulling dogs from high kill shelters and locally who may be in need of behavioral support to become more adoptable. The dogs will then be transported to Orleans Correctional Facility where they will live with selected inmates who will care for them 24 hours per day for approximately 8 weeks. Each dog will have a crate, bedding, leash, collar, training treats, and food provided by Volunteers For Animals. A certified dog trainer will provide weekly training classes for the dogs and the inmates. The inmates will then work daily to reinforce the formal training with the dogs. Adoption Procedures The adoption process includes an application that is completed by the potential owner. If there are multiple applications on the same animal, the animal will go to the best home for that particular animal - not necessarily the first application. Fees for the Path Home animals are $200 per animal which needs to be cash or a check - NO CREDIT CARDS. All of the dogs are current on vaccines, heart worm tested and spayed/neutered. If you would like to be considered for any of the Path to Home dogs, please email us. Please do not call the Shelter regarding Path Home animals - they do not have any information. Email us at info@vol4animals.org regarding this program.  Here is the adoption process:   To adopt an animal you must complete an application and be approved. There is a $60 fee for any animal which needs to be cash or a check - NO CREDIT CARDS. If the animal is not spayed or neutered, there is a $35 deposit which will be returned upon proof of surgery. All dogs must be licensed before leaving the Shelter. Please note that public offices that issue dog licenses are not open on Saturdays and Sundays. All cats must leave in a carrier.   Thank you for considering a homeless animal.November 10, 2024, 2:23 pm

Story
Hi I'm Nena! I am a mature 6 year old lady that is on the hunt for a family to call my own. I live with a foster mom right now but she says I can't stay here forever! She said I deserve my own family and I must say, I agree. My favorite thing in the world is cuddling up with a human and getting all the belly rubs I can! There are other dogs here with me so I have to share belly rub time... can you imagine if I had my own family? I would get exponentially higher rates of belly rubs, which is why I think you should add me to your family. Think of all the fun we could have! Oh and I don't mind spending time with other animals, dogs are fun to play with for sure, but I've never had a human family just for me so that's what I really, really want! I will be heading to NY soon, maybe you will meet me there? Our adoption fee is $400 and unless otherwise stated all dogs and puppies have been spayed/neutered, 4DX tested (if age appropriate), Put on heartworm/flea/tick prevention, age appropriately vaccinated, dewormed, vet checked and flown from Puerto Rico. For more information on adopting please email madrescueofwny@aol.com and fill out our online application at https://form.jotform.us/70927213338153

Story
Bella is a 2-4 year old pit bull terrier with the biggest smile and the sweetest demeanor! She was found as a stray and no owner came forward to claim her so she has been crashing with us. From what we understand, Bella spent most of her life in a crate prior to being with us. Bella does great with all humans and dogs but she does have a high prey drive so she will do best in a house with no cats or any small animals. She is crate and potty trained but could use some manners. She thoroughly loves going on adventures! Any time she is out in the sun is a good time for her! When she gets excited she makes the cutest awooo noises. If you want a dog that is sure to brighten up your life then Bella is your girl!

Story
Delia was found running at large and her owner decided that she no longer wanted her and surrendered her to us with little information about her. She has recently had puppies and now it’s her turn to find a home of her own! Delia is a sweet girl who just wants to spend time with her humans. She is great with kids and other dogs but we are unsure of how she is with cats. She could use some work on her manners but she is incredibly food motivated so training her should be a breeze! Delia is a pretty new addition so we will update with more information once we learn a little more about her.
