Story
This beautiful girl joined Petrescue, and we named her Noelle. To say that Noelle had a difficult start in life, is an understatement. As incomprehensible as this sounds, Noelle was thrown out of a moving car. A Department of Transportation worker happened to witness this tragedy, and brought her to the police station. Fortunately she was not hurt and Petrescue was notified by the police. We picked Noelle up, brought her to Petrescue and she is now enjoying a new lease on life with us and doing well. She is a sweet girl, friendly with humans and other dogs. Her foster mom says she is PERFECT...sweet, playful, easy to train, housebroken, ...just the BEST. Be sure to complete an application on line and, come to our Meet & Greet Saturday 11:30-1:30. If you are interested in this dog, please submit an application directly to our website at www.ny-petrescue.org. Only applications submitted directly to Petrescue will be considered.

Story
Hi there! I’m Yogurt! I’m a sweet and playful 3-4-year-old boxer mix, weighing in at a lovable 60 pounds.  I’m super, super friendly, and I love other dogs, but would probably do best in a home as the only pup. I was patiently waiting at a shelter in Tennessee, but it’s gotten crowded because of all the dogs displaced by Hurricane Helene. I came in a stray, and nobody has come for me, so now I'm thrilled that I was lucky enough to come to NJ and find you! I am currently living with a foster family with older kids and I love them, but its not a forever kind of thing and I'm still on the hunt for my fur-ever. I'm looking for a very patient and low energy home, as I can sometime get anxious (especially when being outside - I'm still learning the ropes!) I recently learned how fun toys and balls can be. And then there's the nightly couch cuddle I can't resist. I do great in the crate when my family is not home and at night. I also know some basic manners like sit, paw and leave it.  If you’re looking to open your heart and home to a new best friend, please consider adopting me. When you bring me home, you’ll also make space for other dogs who are still waiting for help. You can apply at www.peace4paws.org/adoption-application. I can’t wait to meet you! Let’s make room for more friends in need.If you have specific adoption or foster questions, please email: judy.atchison@yahoo.com THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN RESCUING A DOG! Story
Meet Rusty, a lovable 6-year-old Boxer/Pitbull mix who is ready to find his forever home. Weighing in at 68 pounds, Rusty is a gentle giant who has spent the last few years in a loving home in South Carolina. Originally rescued from Kentucky, he’s had a life filled with care and affection but sadly his owner has recently fallen ill and can no longer care for him. While this is heartbreaking, it’s important to note that this is *no fault of Rusty’s own*—he’s simply a dog who is ready to find a new family to share his love with. Rusty is a smart, playful, and beautiful soul who is all about showing affection. His excitement is contagious—he does a full-body wiggle when he's happy, and he always greets you with a smile! He’s a well-mannered boy who will sit patiently while you put on his leash and waits politely for his dinner. Rusty is not destructive, and he doesn’t chew on things that aren’t his—he’s a calm presence in the home, making him a great fit for a more low-key environment. He’s great with other dogs and would thrive in a household with low-traffic teens or adults. Rusty isn’t recommended for a home with younger kids due to his size and strength, but in the right setting, he’ll be the loyal companion you’ve been looking for. Rusty is fully housetrained, up to date on all vaccines, and neutered. He loves car rides and is always up for an adventure, but after a day of fun, he’s happiest when he’s curled up next to his people, enjoying a quiet moment. Rusty is looking for a family that can offer him the love, stability, and comfort he deserves as he enters this new chapter of his life. If you're ready to open your heart to a dog who will bring nothing but love, joy, and loyalty into your home, Rusty is waiting for you. Apply to adopt him today at https://peace4paws.org/adoption-application. Rusty can’t wait to meet you and start this exciting new journey together! If you have specific adoption or foster questions, please email: judy.atchison@yahoo.com THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN RESCUING A DOG!
