Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi, my name is Flash and I am a 5 month old Terrier mix.  My foster mom says that I am a very sweet and smart beautiful boy! I don’t know anything about that I just know that I love to be around humans. I get along great with my canine foster sister too! We love to run and play in the yard and when I am tired I find my foster mom’s lap to snuggle up on. I love to play with my toys but my favorite is the ball!  I really love when my foster mom’s grandson comes to play!  My foster mom says I am very smart and am doing so good going potty outside. I like to go for walks too and am doing well on the leash. I don’t mind my crate at all and I know to go into it to get a treat! I am told that I am 25 pounds of pure sweetness! I am so snuggly and cuddly and I love to run and play with my foster sister! If you are looking for the bestest boy to snuggle with and make you laugh then I am your boy! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi, I’m Mr. Bojangles (Bo for short). I’m about 4-years-old, 65-pounds and an easygoing guy. I love humans the most, and I happily greet everyone I  meet with a wagging tail and a big smile. Some of my favorite pastimes include belly rubs, chewing on toys, and relaxing in the grass - but my favorite is being your snuggle buddy. I’m crate-trained, housebroken, and non-destructive when left out, I do try to be the perfect gentleman around the house. While I can be friends with other dogs, I do prefer to be the only dog in a home.  If you’re looking for a loyal companion in the who’s equal parts playful and cuddly, I’m your guy. Story
Bubbles is a beautiful spayed female Boxer Mix She just graduated for our Path To Home Program which involves obedience training for 8 weeks. Bubbles is housebroken, crate trained and good with other dogs but no cats please. She LOVES to play ball and would probably do it all day if she could. Bubbles is a very affectionate dog with a sweet personality. She is  currently at the Shelter. Volunteers For Animals and Orleans Correctional Facility have developed a Dog Training & Fostering Program within the prison that will provide socialization and basic obedience training for the dogs before being adopted. Volunteers For Animals will be pulling dogs from high kill shelters and locally who may be in need of behavioral support to become more adoptable. The dogs will then be transported to Orleans Correctional Facility where they will live with selected inmates who will care for them 24 hours per day for approximately 8 weeks. Each dog will have a crate, bedding, leash, collar, training treats, and food provided by Volunteers For Animals. A certified dog trainer will provide weekly training classes for the dogs and the inmates. The inmates will then work daily to reinforce the formal training with the dogs. Adoption Procedures The adoption process includes an application that is completed by the potential owner. If there are multiple applications on the same animal, the animal will go to the best home for that particular animal - not necessarily the first application. Fees for the Path Home animals are $200 per animal which needs to be cash or a check - NO CREDIT CARDS. All of the dogs are current on vaccines, heart worm tested and spayed/neutered. If you would like to be considered for any of the Path to Home dogs, please email us. Please do not call the Shelter regarding Path Home animals - they do not have any information. Email us at info@vol4animals.org regarding this program.  Here is the adoption process:   To adopt an animal you must complete an application and be approved. There is a $60 fee for any animal which needs to be cash or a check - NO CREDIT CARDS. If the animal is not spayed or neutered, there is a $35 deposit which will be returned upon proof of surgery. All dogs must be licensed before leaving the Shelter. Please note that public offices that issue dog licenses are not open on Saturdays and Sundays. All cats must leave in a carrier.   Thank you for considering a homeless animal.March 2, 2025, 3:08 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Max is just over one year old and knows his basics, he's just coming out of his puppy era.  He is very eager to please and just needs a little further guidance and consistency to make him the perfect dog! Max is hilarious and the easiest dog his foster has ever fostered.  Wants to play with everyone and will try to initiate, but is respectful of boundaries once they are set.  Loves to play and run and has the energy and plenty of endurance. Would be an excellent companion for someone with an active/outdoorsy lifestyle.  Mindful in the house and happy to entertain himself with a toy.   Loves to snuggle and will do so with every inch and pound of himself if allowed to.  He is such a love and very good time.  Very friendly and trustworthy dog.  Crate and house trained, but also makes an excellent bed warmer.  Curious with cats and wants to play, will chase, but recalls easily and with further conditioning we imagine that will subside.  Has not displayed any aggression, just a curious goofball!!  Max gets along great with other dogs and would probably love a canine sibling to run and play with.  But also would be well suited to be your one and only super spoiled best friend.    Is Max the boy you’ve been looking for ? Put in an application for this handsome boy! Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. &#226&#150&#186 We do not adopt to Canada  due to border restrictions and breed-specific legislation &#226&#150&#186 We adopt & foster locally only ; within an approximately 55 mile radius of Lockport, NY 14094 USA Adoption donation includes Spay/Neuter, Vaccinations, deworming & flea treatment.
