Story
COURTESY POST: Please call Tracy at 505-901-1378 for more information or to meet Emmy. Emmy is a Boxer/Pittie mix whose owners can no longer take care of her. She is about 6 years old and loves to run and play tug-of-war, but they can't play these days. For her first two years with her original owner, she was left crated constantly and not well-socialized. She is still afraid of crates and anything that looks like a crate. Then she was in a series of shelters before being adopted from Los Alamos shelter about three years ago by her current family. Emmy loves people, including children. When she greets a new person she curls her lip and tucks her tail to show her submissiveness, but some people don't get this and are afraid of her at first. She likes to talk to people she knows and also likes to keep the wild animals away from her people and house. Emmy is housebroken and lets you know she needs out by getting fidgety. She will be sad to leave her owners, but has many good years left and will be a joy to the right family. If you have other animals, it will be best to schedule a meet and greet with current owners as Emmy has been an only for the last few years. She is not a dominant dog, so should do well with most dogs once she gets to know them.  October 29, 2024, 3:33 pm
