This 3-month old, 26 pound (as of 12/13) Boxer/Hound mix is an exceptional blend of everything you’d ever want in a handsome young pup…and THEN some! An ultimate love bug, Volbeat is a super sweet fella who doesn’t have a mean bone in his furry little body. He’s affectionate to the max and no amount of cuddling, petting, or snuggling is too much for him. He adores all humans, young and old, and he’s terrific with other dogs. He is playful and upbeat, and never met a toy he didn’t like. He also has the ability to self-entertain, which is quite remarkable for a dog so young. Volbeat is making fantastic progress in the housebreaking department, and in between outdoor walks, he’s becoming more reliable in his use of the wee-wee pads. He enjoys being outside, loud sounds don’t seem to startle him, and he is rather well-mannered on a leash, especially for such a beginner! Volbeat sits on command, he’s treat-motivated, and he is eager to keep learning. Friendly, warm, funny, and curious, Volbeat is VERY easy to fall in love with. Give a warm welcome to Prodigy, a 3-year old, 38-pound Beagle/Boxer mix who is extremely affectionate and friendly with humans of all shapes and sizes. Wanna pet him all day long? He’d absolutely love it! Prodigy is a minimal shedder and an infrequent barker. He really enjoys the outdoors, but this country mouse isn’t a big fan of loud noises. He’s house-trained and he's making progress with his leash manners. Prodigy travels well and is probably the type of dog who would love to run errands with you. And what a cutie-potutie to have by your side! A toy maniac, Prodigy likes to chew on his squeakies and play fetch with a ball. He runs around with his toys at lightning speed, and he gets so excited, he sometimes looks like a bucking horse! He tries to bury sticks, even when there’s nothing to bury them with, and at times, he rolls around on his back while on the floor, as if he’s trying to give himself a deep tissue massage. What a goof ball! Prodigy is opening up more and more with each passing day. He’s learning how to socialize with other dogs, he’s learning how to eat from a bowl, he’s learning how to accept a treat by hand, and he’s learning how lovely it is having a bed to sleep in. He still has a ways to go, but in a very short time, Prodigy is discovering the beauty of love and the power of trust. Dinosaur Jr., or Dino for short, is a 2-month old, 17-pound Boxer/Shepherd mix who is such a love, that everyone who meets him falls immediately under his spell. He’s charming beyond words! Just about fully housebroken, Dino loves being outside and going for walks. If he has access to a fenced yard, he enjoys romping, roaming, and chasing leaves. He also has a blast playing with other dogs. Dino has a lot of energy, but once he’s gotten his yaya’s out, he passes out and sleeps like a zombie. Dino is lovely around all humans, including small children and the elderly. A mushy meatball, Dino is a major cuddler, and you can pet him from his head to his tail, as no place is off limits. He loves it all! Dino is a great sharer, he’s an infrequent barker, and he’s comfortable in his crate at nighttime or when he can’t be watched. If you give him something to chew on, he’s able to occupy himself rather well. Dino also absolutely lovvves car rides! Attentive, intelligent, and treat-motivated, Dino is learning a few basic commands, and will be a pleasure to continue to train. But please don’t ask him to sign any autographs! ;-) Def Leppard, or DL for short, is an absolute bundle of love. No matter who you are, the moment you step through the door, he greets you like you’re his favorite person. Friendly toward kids, the elderly, and other dogs, DL sees everyone as a potential new pal. Curious, affectionate, playful, and unafraid, DL embraces new experiences with enthusiasm, excitement, and ease. He enjoys toys, romping around in the yard, being pet, sprawling out on your lap, and staying as close to his humans as possible. He displays a nice balance of going from high energy to super snuggliness. DL’s also a world class napper! Pad-trained and crate-trained, DL has gotten the hang of both, although he’d much rather hang out with you than be left alone in his crate. Hey, can’t blame him for that! Treat motivated, incredibly smart, and eager to please, DL is learning the commands sit, come, bed, and down. This bright boy shows amazing potential and has a helluva future ahead of him.
