We recently discovered rocky does not do well with small children. I have a 1 year old and we live in a small space, we can no longer live as a cohesive unit ,due to some of rocky's fear aggression based behavior. He is a sweet dog with some weird quirks. He is scared of his own shadow. He loves to lay down and snuggle. He is a sweet boy but we need to find him a new home with no children. He has never acted on these aggressions, but I'm afraid our house is too small for him and it's not fair to keep him outside all day or locked away. He gets along great with other dogs of all sizes. He has never been around cats. He doesn't eat very much and he does not require alot of exercise. He's a bundle of love and joy in the right setting. He does pretty well on car rides and he isn't scared to go to the vet! He does have some skin issues, lots of itching and redness around his paws during allergy season. Story

Aruba is a beautiful, blue-eyed girl of about 2 1/2 years old. In May of 2023, Aruba was removed from an unfit home and when she arrived at our Newark shelter, she was dehydrated and unhealthy, and she spent some time getting back on her feet. She came to us later and continued on her road to recovery. Then, she had to learn to trust people all over again. Aruba is like a whole new dog! YES, she still needs to get to know you before she'll trust you but that doesn't take long at all and once she knows you, you're her buddy for life. Aruba is deaf but has been learning hand signals which she follows very well. She's received a good deal of training and she's so smart and knows perfectly well how to behave. She will need a home where her training is reinforced, and also where there are no young kids or cats. BUT, she loves other dogs and she also loves car rides, playing, and just getting silly! We cannot image how come EMMY is constantly being overlooked. She is a 3yo, 40 lb Boxer mix. She loves to be with her "people". She can be shy when first meeting new people but with patience she warms up. knows "sit" especially when coming inside for her treat. She is crate trained but no longer uses it. She is house trained, goes out in the yard, does her business and wants to come right back inside. Unless, of course, you happen to stay outside with her. She does walk on a leash but is very strong which also has to be worked on. If interested in EMMY the a doption process consists of an application, home visit, contract and adoption fee. Introducing The Dukes of Hazzard Litter! Momma Daisy is about a year old and 65lbs. She came up from a shelter in Virginia. She was one of four boxer mixes that were surrendered from a bad situation. The rescue didn't realize she was pregnant until she came off of transport. Daisy is looking for a foster or a foster to adopt situation. She is very afraid of people so she needs someone who can teach her people are safe. She must go with another dog to show her the ropes. At this time, someone with no kids since she is terrified of them too. She is housebroken. Once she learns to trust you so she sweet, loveable and playful. Daisy had 4 beautiful boys on May 6, 2024, Hank, Duke, Bo, and Jed. All four puppies are loving, playful, sweet and adventurous. They are typical puppies who will need time and training. They know sit and “puppy” which means come. They love their crate and are good in the car. They love playing with toys or being cuddled. They are learning to walk on a leash and potty outside.
