Update 6.1.24 Zeke has enjoyed being outside the last few weeks with the nice weather, he has no problem going out when it is raining, wiping him off is a challenge though since he doesn't like being touched. He gets the zoomies when he comes in from outside sometimes, that is usually a sign that he has pooped. Him and our resident boxer like to play keep away, it is usually him chasing and eventually getting the toy. Between 9-9:30 pm he has had enough and whines to go outside and will typically put himself in his kennel letting you know that it is bedtime, although he currently is curled up in the dog bed occasionally whining because he thinks he should be in his kennel but for some reason he won't put himself to bed. My husband says that he really likes his walks and that he really only whines when he wants/needs something. Things are going well here. Zeke is a really good dog that is looking for his forever home. He is a curious boy with all the Boxer attitude, and is sweet and playful and does well with our other dogs. He loves his toys and is learning how to fetch. The cat is not an issue for him so a home with a cat could work just fine. He is vocal when he plays and loves to play hard like a typical Boxer. Zeke loves his kennel and puts himself to bed when he is tired. He loves to ride in the car, is independent and food and treat motivated. He is housebroken. He isn't a fan of being touched when he's sleeping - he'll grumble and walk away. We have only had him for a few days and he is doing great. Update 5.14.24 Gunner has been with us for a month now. He has adjusted really well. He has learned the boundaries of our unfenced property. He loves to run free in our yard and show off his impressive speed. He really wants to be a part of everything we are doing. I think they call that FOMO. He loves toys and still favors water bottles. If there is a toy with a squeaker he will spend his time getting it out. He has learned how to shake his paw for a treat. He is so smart! He does very well in his crate. And always needs to go back in when we let him out to get a toy to play with. He is doing very well with no potty accidents in the house. He is a big lover who wants all the attention he can get. He will make you laugh. He will give you his love, trust and big boxer kisses. Update 4.19.24 Meet Gunner, the hilarious boxer full of life and energy! Gunner loves to make people laugh with his silly antics and funny faces. He enjoys going for walks but dreams of having a fenced yard where he can run and play to his heart's content. Although he's strong and could use some leash training, Gunner is smart and even bell-trained to signal when he needs to go potty. He's still learning to control his excitement, but he's making progress with guidance. Gunner is crate-trained, and enjoys playing with his favorite toys, like plastic bottles, balls, and ropes. He's a pro at fetch and tug of war and adores water—though he prefers stealing towels to jumping into baths. With his good manners around food and his affectionate nature, Gunner is sure to bring lots of joy to his forever home. Update 4.27.24 Today is the 7th full day at my bridge to my forever home. When I arrived, I was afraid of everything. Every noise was danger. Since then, I've figured out that not everything is danger and that I love my squeaky toy. I will follow that thing anywhere! I also love slippers and shoes. They all end up in my kennel with me. I'm still very vigilant but getting better. I don't jump every time I'm touched and I've even come up to my foster mom a couple times and given a quick kiss.
