My name is Heidi, full of youthful exuberance for life, innocence and curiosity. Ready to crawl right into your heart (won't take long either!!) and be a part of a family...YOUR family! I am still a youngster yet, a big puppy at heart! I have lots of energy and am quite agile. I could be a great candidate for obedience classes and maybe even some fun ones like agility classes. I'm a smart cookie (i know cuz my foster mom tell me so!) and catch on quickly. At 11 months and around 45lbs, I shouldn't get much bigger at my adult weight. What a perfect size for...everything! Neighborhood strolls, nature hikes(aaaah, all those wonderful tantalizing smells), camping, being a co-pilot for errand runs or trips to the park! You name it, I'm ready to give it a whirl and have a blast too (with whatever it is) just cuz we're doing it together!! And the bestest part is that I'm also small enough that I don't hog the whole couch for my cherished cuddle time!! My foster mom wanted you to know this about me - -she is housebroken -she wants to be a lap dog; -she would fit well with an adult home with older children; -with her high prey drive she should be in a home without small dogs or cats but will do well with her size or larger size breed of dogs; -she is a fast learner and will shine with an owner that will include her in their everyday life adventures; -she is crate trained; -she follows basic commands and walks well on leash; -she thrives on daily walks; -she’s a family dog and will make a fabulous family member; -she loves walks, hikes, exploring, tug of war and games using her nose and sparking her intelligence; -she’s quite agile and shows ability in figuring out how to jump over or crawl under set obstacles. From the Foster: Ajax is a gentle, sweet guy approaching 9 years old. He requires moderate levels of daily exercise and has pep in his step! His favorite activity is fetching his rubber ball in the yard. He is a solid guy that might pull a little on walks to sniff something special so the handler must be strong enough to redirect him. Ajax is indifferent to other dogs, he will walk past them with barely a look. In our home, he is very respectful of our grumpy 11 year old small dog and they basically ignore each other. Ajax has recently begun a veterinary prescribed weight loss plan with the goal of losing 13 pounds to get him to his ideal 53 pound size. This will require a potential adopter to feed twice daily at the prescribed quantities and limit treats during the day. He has been doing great on this plan and enjoys hugs and "good boy" pets rather than treats anyway! He is very much motivated by food and will lay in the kitchen watching intently while the humans are preparing food however, he does not beg or try to jump up. Ajax will thrive best in a home where the humans are home most of the day. He would be a great companion to empty nesters, retired and work from home parents that enjoy multiple daily walks to keep him stimulated. He is a quiet dog and only barks as appropriate to alert us to a delivery van, someone at the door, unusual noises, thunder/lightning. He follows us around the home often throughout the day and has displayed a little anxiety/panic whining when he is left alone for short periods but hoping this improves once he's been here longer and more comfortable in his new environment. He has a few old guy "lumps and bumps" on his belly but all have been tested and nothing of concern. Ajax is taking a daily joint supplement Dasuquin for joint health as he ages. This supplement can be purchased at pet stores and over the counter. Ajax is not tested with Cats and it is unknown if he is crate trained. He is a champ at going to bed and sleeps quietly on his orthopedic bed for a solid 8 hours until his humans get up.

Turbo was adopted as a puppy and is now being returned because his family is moving to a place where they cannot have pets. He's a great guy, who loves being around other dogs and kids. He's used to being crated and is housetrained. He hasn't really been around cats. From his foster: 1st day: He is a friendly happy big boy! Walks okay(needs work) on the leash, house trained, and can relax on his own. He's very playful but not annoying to my large resident dog, he's a little rough for my little one (10 lbs). His bio had said he's okay with cats but he is too interested in them, he's seems to have a strong prey drive, it's not aggressive but a no-cat foster is needed for him. I'm not sure smaller children would be in his best interest either. Again, not aggressive but gets playful and he's a big guy! He's SUPER sweet and 90% chill. I do feel another large resident dog that plays or someone that is active with him; long walks, dog daycare, daily dog park visits, is his best choice. Happy Holidays!

Hi I'm Peggy!  I'm a gorgeous lady on the lookout for the perfect family.  I'm a loving girl with my family and I'm always ready for belly rubs, booty scratches and hugs and kisses.  I love to go on walks, but if I smell something interesting I've been known to pull so I can go investigate.  Sorry not sorry haha!  In my foster home I enjoy curling up in front of the fire on my blankie and chewing on bones.  Bones are the best!  I also enjoy car rides.  My foster mama lets me tag along with her and I quietly chew on bones while she runs into the store for a minute.  I'm potty and kennel trained.  I like kids, but sometimes I get a little too excited and might knock down little ones.  I'm not very good with dogs so I'd prefer to be the only princess in my new home.  This applies to kitties and those squirrels outside too.  It's my yard and they need to know they aren't allowed!  When I came into rescue I had a belly full of babies.  I raised them and then it was my turn to go to the vet to make sure I was forever done being a mama.  I had a couple lumps that were removed at the time and they were found to be cancerous.  The doctor says they got good margins and I can now find my happily ever after and hope that I don’t develop anymore pesky lumps.   Please  note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Welcome Tucker to CCPAL Rescue Foster Program. Tucker is a 1-year-old Pitbull dog. He was found as a stray on the construction site and a wonderful good Samaritan found him and is fostering him until he finds his forever home. His hair is super soft and his is gushy sweet. He warms up slow to new people and is very bonded and loyal to his human. He has an adorable underbite. He would be willing to wear outfits and hats if it is what his human wanted. He is great on leash and doesn’t pull and he is good in a car. He doesn’t shed and is a very very clean boy. He likes to keep his feet clean and really manages to stay out of any messes other dogs would normally get into. He is good in his crate and he is potty trained. He currently lives with other dogs but he is jealous of attention. His best home would really be where he can be the only dog and get all the snuggles from his family. I think a quieter home over the family that has a loud bustling group of people in it. He would be perfect for the single woman or man who would like a companion animal to walk, jog hike or cuddle with. He doesn’t need lots of exercise for happiness. He is an inside dog and loves to be in the house next to his person. He can stay in his crate while you work. He can also be trusted outside his crate. He is healthy, vaccinated, neutered and ready for his forever home. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally. Welcome Buddy to CCPAL Rescue. He is a 2-year old American Bulldog and Australian Cattle dog is our best guess on the mix. He has a lower coat and does shed. He is a bit of a puller on leash when he first gets out of his kennel. He is intelligent, affectionate and ready to learn. It doesn’t appear he would be hard to train but may have not had a lot of training in his first home. He would be great for a runner, jogger or hiker. He is sturdy and could keep pace and would love to join his human. He is in my opinion a perfect man dog. He loves men naturally and leans in to show his affection. He hasn’t been reactive on leash when walking around other dogs. He is social and not afraid of new people. He is exuberant so we think he would be best around children that are 8 or older. He would do great with an active family that wants an active companion. He does slow down and likes to chill out as well. He is not perpetual motion. He is getting neutered soon and is already getting his vaccinations and will be chipped. He is hw negative and ready for his forever home. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast.
