I’m about 6 months to a year old and full of life, always ready for adventure. I came to Underdog when my previous family could no longer care for me, but now I’m loving my new foster home and learning all about my new routine. I’m a big fan of snuggling on the couch, but don’t let that fool you—I’ve got loads of energy to burn! I love my daily walks, and I’d thrive in a home where I can get regular exercise, like a trip to the dog park or some playtime in the yard. If I don’t get enough activity, I might get a little mischievous, so keeping me active is key to making sure I’m a happy girl! I also love chewing on bully sticks, playing with my Kongs filled with treats, and solving dog puzzle toys. I’m really well-behaved when it comes to leash walking, and I sleep well in my crate (although I do love my couch snuggles when I can get them). I’m getting close to being fully potty trained when I’m on a good schedule, but I’ll need a little more time and patience to perfect it. I also have a strong prey drive, so I’m not a fan of cats (sorry, feline friends!). However, I’m great with other dogs of all sizes and would love to have doggy friends to play with. I’ve been through a lot, but I’ve healed up completely from pneumonia and am doing great in my foster home. I absolutely love kids and enjoy going on walks and playing with my foster siblings. I greet other dogs respectfully and am always up for a fun game of tug or fetch. I walk well on the leash, so as long as I get plenty of exercise, I don't need a fenced yard.  I promise to be your loyal and loving companion! Let’s meet soon and see if we’re meant to be!  **Obedience classes are required when adopting this puppy from Underdog Rescue. Many of our puppies have a mama who was not properly socialized before coming to Underdog Rescue. Since coming to Underdog, this puppy has been in a socialized and loving home, but that needs to be continued with its Adopters. Training classes teach puppies the ins and outs of being a pet while creating a bond with their new Adopter. Obedience classes are key to creating a relationship with your puppy while having it be a happy and successful member of society. Proof of Obedience Class registration is required for this puppy before adoptions can be finalized. If you would like some suggestions, we would be happy to send some trainers who have experience with Underdog Rescue, but a Basic Obedience class in your area should work! P lease note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. She is young and busy, but she is quick to offer you her belly for rubs. She does best with dogs similar to her size. She prefers to be in an adult only home. Malibu spent several months living in a shelter and it has taken some  time to acclimate back to living in a home. Malibu loves to go on walks and does great with loose leash walking with someone that will give gentle reminders. She loves being outside and playing chase with her foster brother. Hi there, I’m Boomer Jr., but my foster mom calls me Boom! I’m a 6-month-old mix and a total lovebug. I made my way to Minnesota all the way from North Carolina after a hurricane so the shelter there could help more pups in need. Now, I’m ready to find my forever home!   I’m the goodest boy—fully potty trained, kennel trained, and eager to learn. I’ve already mastered "sit," "lay down," and "get down," and I’m super food-motivated, so teaching me new tricks will be a breeze. I love making doggie friends, especially bigger ones, because sometimes I forget my size and play a little too hard with the tiny pups.   I’ve been polite around cats and can happily share a home with them. I’m also great in the car—I’ll just curl up and relax while you drive. I do get a bit nervous around new people and might bark or growl at first, but give me a treat or two, and I’ll be your best friend in no time. Because of this, I’d do best in a quieter home without kids, as loud noises make me anxious.   I’m a playful guy with lots of energy, so a fenced yard would be perfect for me to zoom around in. I love my toys and have a funny habit of pulling all of them out of my toy bin and bringing them to my spot on the couch—my foster mom says it’s the cutest thing ever!   If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, and fun companion, I’m your pup. Meet Avery!  Avery traveled with her siblings from North Carolina after the hurricane. She was born in late August and we believe she is a  Mountain Cur/Boxer mix. Avery is full of puppy energy and loves to give puppy kisses. Avery loves her food but isn't possessive. She is learning to go outside to do her business and is using the doggy door. Going in her kennel can be hard but will settle down after a little bit of whining. She is sleeping almost through the night as well.  She is starting to explore more and gaining her confidence.  Avery got along with other dogs at her first foster home. Currently, there are cats but they don't like puppies. Avery checks them out and is learning to give them space. Avery loves kids and is trying to figure out that they are not puppies. She loves toys and is constantly finding things to play with. She loves interactive/brain toys.  If you're an active person who enjoys exploring, Avery would be the perfect companion to join you on your journeys. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Yukon (Yuki) was dumped at a high kill shelter in West Texas. He is deaf, but that does not slow him down. Best fit home would have a fenced in yard to keep him safe and a companion dog. He is good with other dogs, kids, and cats (dog savvy ones because he likes to chase to play and lick them). All dogs and puppies require supervision and training.  Yuki can be shy at first but don't let that fool you, he quickly warms up and is the best boy. He is a smart boy who learned signs and schedules fast. He loves to run and play with dogs (and cats but he doesn't understand his size to theirs). He loves everyone he meets and thinks all dogs are his friends. He is working on leash skills. Whiskey was born July 15, 2023. He came into rescue at 8 weeks old when the owner couldn’t find him a home. His mother is boxer and father Black and Tan hound. (Pictures of parents attached.) He is a sweet playful pup that has done great with small and large dogs. He is crate trained and doing very well with his house training. He loves toys and sticks to chew on. Do you want a pint size of happiness and love to call your own?  If so, keep reading and meet Pandora. She is a muscly short-legged ginger girl, who is just waiting to be found so she can sashay her wiggling behind all the way to greet you with every chance she gets.  Her tail wags non-stop once you give her a smidge of time to know you and once it starts, it never stops!  Sadly, she was left to her own devices in a local park and needed some medical attention quickly. Thankfully the Rescue Crew provided that care and she is healed almost completely. She is kennel trained and social with other dogs - she LOVES to play and would be hard pressed to live with another dog who didn’t enjoy her playtime antics. She has also loved every person she meets.  We have not had any exposure with small kids and cats at this time, so unsure of that dynamic. Though most probably she would need some supervision in those circumstances as she is on the young side of life and needs her box of toys and bones to chew on to pass her time. However, she also relaxes and snoozes fairly readily - making the most adorable little bear cub sounds as she settles in next to you. She is quite frankly pretty perfect - super attentive & focused, smart, affectionate and an all-around lovely girl whose amber eyes match her beautiful soft amber-red coat.
