Story
Hi there, I’m Boomer Jr., but my foster mom calls me Boom! I’m about a year old Boxer mix and a total lovebug. I made my way to Minnesota all the way from North Carolina after a hurricane so the shelter there could help more pups in need. Now, I’m ready to find my forever home!   I’m the good boy—fully potty trained, kennel trained, and eager to learn. I’ve already mastered "sit," "lay down," and "get down," and I’m super food-motivated, so teaching me new tricks will be a breeze. I love making doggie friends, especially bigger ones, because sometimes I forget my size and play a little too hard with the tiny pups. I would need a home with another dog because I love to play!   I’m also great in the car—I’ll just curl up and relax while you drive. I do get a bit nervous around new people and might bark or growl at first, but give me a treat or two, and I’ll be your best friend in no time. Because of this, I’d do best in a home without small kids, as sometimes I am anxious.   I’m a playful guy with lots of energy, so a fenced yard would be perfect for me to zoom around in. I love my toys and love antlers and bones to chew on.    If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, and fun companion, I’m your pup. I can’t wait to meet you and start our adventures together!    Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Herman is a sweet, affectionate boy who loves everyone he meets. He has a big heart, a gentle spirit, and a playful side that makes him an absolute joy to have around. Whether he’s running around the yard, playing with toys, or soaking up attention from his people, Herman is always ready to bring a smile to your face. He loves kids and truly enjoys being part of a family. Herman is also house trained and crate trained, making him an easy and well-mannered companion in the home. At the end of the day, his favorite place to be is snuggled up in bed with you, soaking in all the love he can get. Herman would do best in a home without cats, but he makes up for it with how much he adores people. He’s playful, cuddly, and always ready for adventure or a nap — whatever you’re in the mood for. If you’re looking for a loving, loyal dog who gives his whole heart, Herman is your guy!   Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Sweet little Sally is on the hunt for her forever home, and preferably one with a very comfy couch. She’s a professional-level cuddler and firmly believes all laps were created specifically for her. If you sit down, she sits on you. That’s the deal.   She’s also an excellent sidekick, happily following you around as you go about your day. Sally LOVES going for walks, but only if she’s properly bundled up. This girl does not do cold. Her potty training is coming along wonderfully—partly because she likes to get her business done quickly so she can return to warmer indoor climates. She has learned to ring a bell on the door when she needs to go out. Did we mention the girl is smart? And she thinks training activities are so fun (especially when there are treats involved!)   Right now Sally’s living with two adults, two elementary-aged kids, and one giant Newfoundland, and she’s a fan of all of them. Big dog? Small dog? Neighborhood dog she’s never met before? She’s happy to say hello.   Sally is quiet as a mouse… unless she’s in her kennel. Then she’ll file a formal (and loud) complaint until you either lie next to her or come back home. We’re working on it.   Above all, Sally wants to be wherever her humans are—helping, supervising, or simply providing emotional support via lap occupation. She’s a smart little lady who picks up new things quickly and is destined to become someone’s very best buddy! Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Amy is a sweet, soulful 3-year-old Boxer/Lab mix with a gentle heart and a sensitive soul. Most of the time, she’s an absolute love—affectionate, attentive, and happiest when she’s cuddled up with her people (or soaking in some quiet companionship).   Amy can be a bit timid and startles easily, as she’s very alert and aware of her surroundings. Because of that, she sometimes needs space when she’s feeling overwhelmed. While she enjoys playing and cuddling with other dogs, she can occasionally snap if she’s had enough.   She’s fully potty trained, listens very well, and already knows her sit and stay commands. Amy is also a fantastic walking buddy and absolutely loves going for car rides—she’s always ready to be your co-pilot.   Amy would do best with a patient, understanding family who can give her a calm environment, clear boundaries, and lots of love. In return, she’ll reward you with loyalty, snuggles, and a deep, genuine bond.   If you’re looking for a devoted companion who just wants to feel safe and loved, Amy may be your perfect match.      Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $450 plus taxJimmy is a friendly, playful boy with a heart as big as his smile! Jimmy coming to us from an overcrowded shelter where dogs were being doubled and even tripled up in kennels due to lack of space. Despite that rough start, Jimmy has kept his happy spirit and is ready for a fresh start in a loving home. He’s still young, so he’s got puppy energy and is learning about the world around him. Jimmy enjoys meeting new people, gets along well with other dogs, and would love a home where he can stretch his legs, play, and keep building confidence. Jimmy is looking for a family who will give him the time, patience, and love he deserves. In return, he’ll bring endless tail wags, cuddles, and companionship. Ready to give Jimmy the home he’s been waiting for? Update From The Vet:I wanted to send a little update on Jimmy. He has ectropion in both eyes, which means the eyelids roll outwards which is why he has that extra pink tissue showing. It typically is not something that needs to be corrected but we of course can't guarantee that it won't change in the future.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS.  We do not transport to potential adopters. Story
Age: Approximately 4 years Weight: 25 pounds Dog friendly: Yes Cat friendly: Yes Kid friendly: TBD Potty trained: Yes Crate trained: Yes **Physical Fence Required** Hi there!! I’m Jessi. I've been in rescue for 842 days - over 27 months - safe, loved and learning.. but my heart still hopes that someone out there its looking for a girl just like me. My biggest wish is to finally have a forever family to call my own. Yes, those big, beautiful ears you see are 100% real and ready to listen to all your secrets. My favorite thing in the world is snuggling up with my people. I’m truly a champion cuddler! I may be a little shy when we first meet, but don’t worry—I warm up with slow intros. Foster Mom says I’ve been working hard on my confidence, and she’s so proud of how far I’ve come. One of my favorite tools for success is my Confidence Crown (that’s what we call my muzzle). It’s not just gear; it’s my ticket to fun adventures, new friends, and extra treats. I’ve learned to LOVE it because it means good things are coming—like daycare, playtime, or meeting new people. Plus, I can run, pant, drink, and play while wearing it. It’s amazing! I’ve been learning so many things: - Sit, stay, come, and waiting politely at the door - With proper introductions, it’s ok for someone I don’t know to enter the home - How to be a champion squirrel chaser and jumper - Running on a treadmill (yes, I’m that cool) - Making friends at doggy daycare I’m a sensitive and smart girl who thrives with positive guidance. I’d love an experienced forever family that will keep helping me build confidence. A yard & another dog to show me the ropes would be awesome, too! A little about me: - I have lots of energy and love being active. - I take a small daily pill to help with my nerves, and it works wonders. - I’m great with dogs and fine with cats—they’re cool as long as they keep their distance. If you have patience, love, and a knack for snuggling, we might be the perfect match. Fill out an application and come meet me—I can’t wait to see if we’re meant to be! Love, Jessi Adoption Fee: $395
