Hi there, I’m Opha May, a happy and energetic Boxer puppy weighing in at 45 pounds (I’m still growing!). I’m about 6 months to a year old and full of life, always ready for adventure. I came to Underdog when my previous family could no longer care for me, but now I’m loving my new foster home and learning all about my new routine. I’m a big fan of snuggling on the couch, but don’t let that fool you—I’ve got loads of energy to burn! I love my daily walks, and I’d thrive in a home where I can get regular exercise, like a trip to the dog park or some playtime in the yard. If I don’t get enough activity, I might get a little mischievous, so keeping me active is key to making sure I’m a happy girl! I also love chewing on bully sticks, playing with my Kongs filled with treats, and solving dog puzzle toys. I’m really well-behaved when it comes to leash walking, and I sleep well in my crate (although I do love my couch snuggles when I can get them). I’m getting close to being fully potty trained when I’m on a good schedule, but I’ll need a little more time and patience to perfect it. I also have a strong prey drive, so I’m not a fan of cats (sorry, feline friends!). However, I’m great with other dogs of all sizes and would love to have doggy friends to play with. I’ve been through a lot, but I’ve healed up completely from pneumonia and am doing great in my foster home. I absolutely love kids and enjoy going on walks and playing with my foster siblings. I greet other dogs respectfully and am always up for a fun game of tug or fetch. I walk well on the leash, so as long as I get plenty of exercise, I don't need a fenced yard.  I promise to be your loyal and loving companion! Let’s meet soon and see if we’re meant to be!  **Obedience classes are required when adopting this puppy from Underdog Rescue. Many of our puppies have a mama who was not properly socialized before coming to Underdog Rescue. Since coming to Underdog, this puppy has been in a socialized and loving home, but that needs to be continued with its Adopters. Training classes teach puppies the ins and outs of being a pet while creating a bond with their new Adopter. Obedience classes are key to creating a relationship with your puppy while having it be a happy and successful member of society. Proof of Obedience Class registration is required for this puppy before adoptions can be finalized. If you would like some suggestions, we would be happy to send some trainers who have experience with Underdog Rescue, but a Basic Obedience class in your area should work! P lease note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.  We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion. Hi there, I’m Boomer Jr., but my foster mom calls me Boom! I’m about a year old Boxer mix and a total lovebug. I made my way to Minnesota all the way from North Carolina after a hurricane so the shelter there could help more pups in need. Now, I’m ready to find my forever home!   I’m the good boy—fully potty trained, kennel trained, and eager to learn. I’ve already mastered "sit," "lay down," and "get down," and I’m super food-motivated, so teaching me new tricks will be a breeze. I love making doggie friends, especially bigger ones, because sometimes I forget my size and play a little too hard with the tiny pups. I would need a home with another dog because I love to play!   I’m also great in the car—I’ll just curl up and relax while you drive. I do get a bit nervous around new people and might bark or growl at first, but give me a treat or two, and I’ll be your best friend in no time. Because of this, I’d do best in a home without small kids, as sometimes I am anxious.   I’m a playful guy with lots of energy, so a fenced yard would be perfect for me to zoom around in. I love my toys and love antlers and bones to chew on.    If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, and fun companion, I’m your pup. Meet Lady Earabelle an approximately 18 month old Boxer mix. She is an extraordinarily sweet, loving, kind pup that loves to cuddle. She also does fine with other dogs. She will absolutely be your best friend.  She cares about what her humans think and feel and wants to please them.  She has been super easy to train to sit and stay.  She is house trained and she has no problems in her kennel and goes in there freely without any whining. She loves to chew on her bones and other toys.  She's still a puppy so she loves to be active outside as well.  A tie out or a taller fence would be good for her because she's super agile and athletic. Her favorite thing though is to curl up next to you on the couch and give you love.  Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Dental, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. She is young and busy, but she is quick to offer you her belly for rubs. She does best with dogs similar to her size. She prefers to be in an adult only home. Malibu spent several months living in a shelter and it has taken some  time to acclimate back to living in a home. Malibu loves to go on walks and does great with loose leash walking with someone that will give gentle reminders. She loves being outside and playing chase with her foster brother. Dakota was adopted in 2019 from a rescue that brought her up from Alabama. She loves everyone and everything. She is obsessed with comfort so she needs a nice dog bed, human bed, or pile of blankets to sleep on. She truly believes she's a lap dog and will never leave your side. Here are the cons... if you cannot provide your undivided attention or a comfy place to sleep she will follow you and cry. She also has anxiety towards anyone touching her paws. You can't clip her nails so she has to take 2 different sedation medications and use anesthesia to be out under for a nail trim. She truly is a good dog but she needs someone who can give her enormous amounts of love and patience.
