You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Yukon (Yuki) was dumped at a high kill shelter in West Texas. He is deaf, but that does not slow him down. Best fit home would have a fenced in yard to keep him safe and a companion dog. He is good with other dogs, kids, and cats (dog savvy ones because he likes to chase to play and lick them). All dogs and puppies require supervision and training.  Yuki can be shy at first but don't let that fool you, he quickly warms up and is the best boy. He is a smart boy who learned signs and schedules fast. He loves to run and play with dogs (and cats but he doesn't understand his size to theirs). He loves everyone he meets and thinks all dogs are his friends. He is working on leash skills, but he doesn't quite understand it yet. He is a gem and anyone would be lucky to have him as part of their family  Please put in your application on our website mattysheartandsoulanimalrescue.rescuegroups.org.      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 9:49 am

Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. //

Meet Rosie, a super sweet girl with a heart as big as Texas! Rosie had a bit of an adventurous stint as a stray, but now she's all set to find her perfect forever home.Rosie is a furry socialite who gets along wonderfully with her fellow doggie pals. However, she does have one little quirk—cats and Rosie aren't exactly a match made in heaven. Those frisky felines tend to trigger her playful chase instincts! When it comes to humans, Rosie is a total cuddlebug. She's convinced she's a lap dog and won't hesitate to hop right up for some quality snuggle time. But here's the fun part: Rosie's got a spirited teenage attitude. When she's told "no" or caught doing something she shouldn't, she's not one to back down quietly—she'll talk back with all the sass!If you're ready to bring a sweet and silly addition to your family, Rosie is more than prepared for her forever home. And yes, she's absolutely transportable, so don't let the Texas distance discourage you, transport only costs $230. Apply today and let the fun begin! Online Application: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=ch2817&method=online_form_html&formid=41*Disclaimer: This pet is located in Texas. Story
From the Foster: Ajax is a gentle, sweet guy approaching 9 years old. He requires moderate levels of daily exercise and has pep in his step! His favorite activity is fetching his rubber ball in the yard. He is a solid guy that might pull a little on walks to sniff something special so the handler must be strong enough to redirect him. Ajax is indifferent to other dogs, he will walk past them with barely a look. In our home, he is very respectful of our grumpy 11 year old small dog and they basically ignore each other. Ajax has recently begun a veterinary prescribed weight loss plan with the goal of losing 13 pounds to get him to his ideal 53 pound size. This will require a potential adopter to feed twice daily at the prescribed quantities and limit treats during the day. He has been doing great on this plan and enjoys hugs and "good boy" pets rather than treats anyway! He is very much motivated by food and will lay in the kitchen watching intently while the humans are preparing food however, he does not beg or try to jump up. Ajax will thrive best in a home where the humans are home most of the day. He would be a great companion to empty nesters, retired and work from home parents that enjoy multiple daily walks to keep him stimulated. He is a quiet dog and only barks as appropriate to alert us to a delivery van, someone at the door, unusual noises, thunder/lightning. He follows us around the home often throughout the day and has displayed a little anxiety/panic whining when he is left alone for short periods but hoping this improves once he's been here longer and more comfortable in his new environment. He has a few old guy "lumps and bumps" on his belly but all have been tested and nothing of concern. Ajax is taking a daily joint supplement Dasuquin for joint health as he ages. This supplement can be purchased at pet stores and over the counter. Ajax is not tested with Cats and it is unknown if he is crate trained. He is a champ at going to bed and sleeps quietly on his orthopedic bed for a solid 8 hours until his humans get up.

Story
I am looking for a foster family on 12/21! Please email fostersupport@thebondbetween.org if you can help! Hello my name is Turbo, I'm from Minnesota! Turbo was adopted as a puppy and is now being returned because his family is moving to a place where they cannot have pets. He's a great guy, who loves being around other dogs and kids. He's used to being crated and is housetrained. He hasn't really been around cats. From his foster: 1st day: He is a friendly happy big boy! Walks okay(needs work) on the leash, house trained, and can relax on his own. He's very playful but not annoying to my large resident dog, he's a little rough for my little one (10 lbs). His bio had said he's okay with cats but he is too interested in them, he's seems to have a strong prey drive, it's not aggressive but a no-cat foster is needed for him. I'm not sure smaller children would be in his best interest either. Again, not aggressive but gets playful and he's a big guy! He's SUPER sweet and 90% chill. I do feel another large resident dog that plays or someone that is active with him; long walks, dog daycare, daily dog park visits, is his best choice. Happy Holidays!

Story
Hi there! I’m Heidi, and I’m excited to share a little about me!I like the slow life - sitting in the sun, listening to the birds, and feeling the breeze. I’ve gone through some tough things, but I’m now in a wonderful environment and have met so many loving people along the way! I make friends with everyone, and I do think I’m the best lap dog around! I like kids, but I do get nervous around high energy kids. So I would do best around older ones. I’m the most affectionate pup, and I’ve never met a stranger! My way of saying hello is to fall into you and give you lots of kisses! I’m just the most friendly girl.Part of my story is that I am a mama of eleven pups who have found their forever homes! I’m a caring girl and just want to be right next to my people. I like most dogs, but really I mostly like the other calm dogs. I like slow intros to other pups as well. I would do well in a home either as an only pup, or with another pup who is respectful of my desire to just chill out. If I’m bothered by something, I usually just get up and move. You should also know, I'm a really good jumper! I would do well in a yard with a tall fence, or if there isn't a tall fence we can just walk outside on a leash. I'm the best co-worker for my foster mom as she works from home. I don't make a sound while she's working! And I'm a great sleeper! I haven’t had one accident in the house, and don't look for things to get into either. I’m pretty good with walking on a leash, I like to take my time to check out what is around me first. I absolutely love riding in cars! My foster mom says I’m just the best girl and that I deserve a best friend who will stop and smell the roses with me.Are you my forever snuggler?***FOSTER TO ADOPT***Heidi is heartworm positive and not yet spayed. She has completed her heartworm treatment and is now just waiting for a negative test result which can take place 9 months after treatment per our veterinarians recommendations in order to get spayed. She is no longer needing to be on exercise restrictions. Heidi will also need continued use of monthly heartworm preventives going forward. These medical needs will be the responsibility of the adopter. Once her spay is complete, her adoption can be finalized. If you are interested in adopting Heidi, please fill out an adoption application. --------------------------------------------All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption. Please note that the majority of our dogs in rescue are from shelters where they have been found as strays or abandoned. Their breed description is based on our very best educated guess based on physical characteristics and their dispositions. If they came to our rescue as an owner surrender, the breed description will be listed as provided by the previous owner.Adoption Fee - $400To apply for this pup, please submit an Adoption Application at http://warriordogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application/

Story
This boy was surrendered due to the wife not wanting him around a newborn. Bob did nothing wrong and is a well behaved boy. He does need time to get used to new people but warms up pretty quickly. He gets along with other dogs and likes to play. He loves tennis balls and loves to chase them... he can fit 2 in his mouth at a time. He does well on a leash and is house broken. He does like children but will need time to adjust to their energy. He can get a little protective over what he considers "his" but is not a mean protector.... more bark than bite. Some added people socialization would probably help him. He is a good boy who was given a raw deal by his supposed family so he;s now looking for a new chance. He is located in Tennessee but can be transported through Rescue Riders.

Story
This poor girl was just abandoned and left at the fosters house. The owner said she would be back for her but never came back or heard from again. Sally loves people but as far as kids go, she is better with older kids than younger kids. She is still working on being housetrained but is doing really well with it. She is good with other dogs but would recommend that they feed separately as she is very protective of her food dish. She is up to date on all shots, fixed and ready for a nice forever home with someone to love her so she can return that love. She really just needs a forever home - are you the family for Sally? If you're willing to love and care for her she will do the same for you. She would be a great family member for the right person. She is being fostered in TN but the transport to your area is included in her fee. We use Rescue Riders Pet Transport, the most animal-friendly transport on the road.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Can you say photogenic or what?! Just look at that face - and those ears! This sweet guy is a selfie pro, always ready for the camera, especially if there’s a treat involved. When he`s not hamming it up for photos, Benji’s other passions include a good game of fetch, plush toys, and topping both of those… his absolute favorite thing in the world: treats! Benji is a rockstar at keeping his kennel clean, and he’s quite the social butterfly! At the shelter, we’ve observed that he has an enthusiastic, confident, and spirited playstyle with other dogs - he’s often found following the fun around the play run! If he gets a bit too jumpy, he responds well to redirection, especially when treats are part of the deal (obviously!). On walks, Benji sometimes gets a little too excited about the leash at first, but a bit of patience and a tasty treat usually do the trick, and he’s off and strolling! He’s still perfecting his “no-pulling” skills, but hey, no one`s perfect, right? Benji would thrive in a home with consistent expectations, a structured routine, and maybe a dog buddy to share the fun (though he’d also be happy as the solo superstar!). With his energy and love for treats, agility training could totally be in his future. All this little guy needs are plush toys to play with, humans to follow and adore, continued training, and, of course, a steady treat supply - then there’s nothing he can’t achieve!Come meet Benji during Walk-in Adoption Hours!Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 1:00 – 5:00 PMThursday 1:00 – 7:00 PMSaturday 11:00 – 3:00 PM
