This handsome dude would love to find a home of his own!    Grouse is from a local impound. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. She is young and busy, but she is quick to offer you her belly for rubs. She does best with dogs similar to her size. She prefers to be in an adult only home. Malibu spent several months living in a shelter and it has taken some  time to acclimate back to living in a home. Malibu loves to go on walks and does great with loose leash walking with someone that will give gentle reminders. She loves being outside and playing chase with her foster brother. Malibu will be a great sidekick for someone looking for a buddy. If you have previously applied with us please email adoptionatmars@gmail.com to reactivate your application with new interest. All fees are subject to MN sales tax and a processing fee at the time of adoption. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. //

Story
Hi there, I’m Boomer Jr., but my foster mom calls me Boom! I’m a 6-month-old mix and a total lovebug. I made my way to Minnesota all the way from North Carolina after a hurricane so the shelter there could help more pups in need. Now, I’m ready to find my forever home!   I’m the goodest boy—fully potty trained, kennel trained, and eager to learn. I’ve already mastered "sit," "lay down," and "get down," and I’m super food-motivated, so teaching me new tricks will be a breeze. I love making doggie friends, especially bigger ones, because sometimes I forget my size and play a little too hard with the tiny pups.   I’ve been polite around cats and can happily share a home with them. I’m also great in the car—I’ll just curl up and relax while you drive. I do get a bit nervous around new people and might bark or growl at first, but give me a treat or two, and I’ll be your best friend in no time. Because of this, I’d do best in a quieter home without kids, as loud noises make me anxious.   I’m a playful guy with lots of energy, so a fenced yard would be perfect for me to zoom around in. I love my toys and have a funny habit of pulling all of them out of my toy bin and bringing them to my spot on the couch—my foster mom says it’s the cutest thing ever!   If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, and fun companion, I’m your pup. I can’t wait to meet you and start our adventures together!       Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee:  $525.00Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 8, 2024, 9:49 am

Story
Hey, I’m Cherokee, I believe we can be best friends! I’m a Mountain cur, boxer mix but my momma thinks I’m just a mega mutt which is like the best breed ever in my opinion. I am such a sweet lover boy - who doesn’t love a lover boy? I am a little bit more of an emotional boy. I love hugs and cuddles. I am a typical puppy who loves to play. I love other doggos and would do best in a home with another dog friend. I am a smart pup who is kennel trained and doing so well on potty training. I sleep through the night in my foster momma's bed and will not move or have an accident; I just cuddle up as close as I can get to her. I am very food motivated and have learned to sit and then wait. I should be able to learn any trick you have the patience to teach because I would do anything for a treat. I have started playing catch with a ball as well and will even bring it back! I’m basically the best dude ever and look at me aren’t I adorable?? Anyway, I can’t wait to meet you!!!! Love, Cherokee    Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Meet Avery!  Avery traveled with her siblings from North Carolina after the hurricane. She was born in late August and we believe she is a  Mountain Cur/Boxer mix. Avery is full of puppy energy and loves to give puppy kisses. Avery loves her food but isn't possessive. She is learning to go outside to do her business and is using the doggy door. Going in her kennel can be hard but will settle down after a little bit of whining. She is sleeping almost through the night as well.  She is starting to explore more and gaining her confidence.  Avery got along with other dogs at her first foster home. Currently, there are cats but they don't like puppies. Avery checks them out and is learning to give them space. Avery loves kids and is trying to figure out that they are not puppies. She loves toys and is constantly finding things to play with. She loves interactive/brain toys.  If you're an active person who enjoys exploring, Avery would be the perfect companion to join you on your journeys. This sweet girl is ready to find her forever home!     Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue.
