Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Kie, or Big Mike as he is affectionately called in his foster home, is a big dog with a big personality! He is listed as a lab/shepherd mix based on what is listed on his rabies certificate, but we are told he is actually a known mix of Boxer and German Shepherd. We have not confirmed that with any DNA test, however. He currently weighs about 65 pounds and is a tall, leggy dog. Big Mike is a young, spunky, and comical dog who is a natural athlete. His foster mom is a runner and he easily keeps up for 6-7 miles at a time and could go much further as he comes home with plenty of gas in the tank. He also adores toys and will self entertain with a good squeaky toy (though he needs toys that are built to last!) or would be happy to engage in a session of tug or fetch. His foster family has two kids who love his enjoyment of toys. Big Mike provides endless giggles as they toss the ball and he happily runs and pounces after it. After a good day, there is no better snuggle bug than Big Mike! He simply wants to be with his people. Big Mike is dog friendly and integrates easily with other dogs of various sizes. He has shown no resource guarding tendencies with dogs or people and generally is quite social with people, though can occasionally get spooked by a hat or hood. He handles vet care and nail trims well and is fully crate trained. He does well with house training, but on occasion has an accident when he is in a new place or overly distracted.  Big Mike is a great dog, but like everyone, he does have some areas to work on. He does live with a cat, but he does not understand why he cannot wrestle, chase and generally pester him. He is not out to do harm, but he needs to learn boundaries with cats. Big Mike is 100% in the teenage stage of life and will need someone who understands this. He is busy, impulsive, and will need to continue to learn boundaries with someone who can continue to give him positive real world experience. Big Mike is capable of jumping a 4 foot chain link fence, though stays contained in his 4 foot wooden fence and isn't a runner. If his yard is fenced, it will need to be wooden or 6 feet tall. Overall, Big Mike is a fantastic, fun, playful pup looking for a home of his own.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in adopting this lovable animal? Story
Bailey is a 6, almost 7, year old dog who is still a puppy at heart. She is smart and will fetch a tennis ball until she drops. She knows a ton of tricks and will gladly learn more if you have a toy in front of her. She makes the perfect snuggle buddy and LOVES being under the covers. While Bailey is a lover, she isn’t quite fond of other dogs. This doesn’t make her a bad dog but it does mean that she would be best suited in a home where it’s just her. Unfortunately she is no longer getting along with our older dog so with the best interest of both in mind we had to make the tough decision to rehome her.

Story
My friends taking care of me are hoping to find me a home so they can make room in foster homes for more pups in need.I give you my very best “awoooo” as a hello! My name is Janet, and I was probably named after Ms. Jackson since we’re both such fabulous ladies. My siblings and I were strays down south before we were found by some lovely people. Turns out pets and kisses are about the best thing! I recently came to MN with my brother. Our sister came up before us and has been adopted already. I’m only a little bit jealous!A little bit about me: before coming to MN I had never been in this thing called a “house” so it’s been a little bit of a learning curve for me. I’m learning things like stairs, the TV, and other household items aren’t so scary. I need a family that will be patient with me and help me continue learning. Even with just coming up to MN I already sleep all night in my kennel without a peep! My foster mom says I’m just the smartest girly! I’m so proud to announce that I still haven’t had a single accident in the house. Go me!!Otherwise, I’m pretty chill! I have lived with many other dogs and get along with them really well. I’ve been great at sharing my toys and having chew things around with other dogs, which is amazing since I started life on the streets of Alabama. My foster mom says I have a perfectly squishable face, which I think is a compliment. I come out my shell a little bit more every day and am excited to see what new things I’m going to learn tomorrow.Hope to sniff you soon!!***FOSTER TO ADOPT***Janet is Heartworm positive and is currently going through treatment. Once her treatment is complete, the adoption can be finalized. Once her adoption is finalized, it is the responsibility of the adoptive family to get a Heartworm test every 2 months to follow up on her treatment progress until she has a negative result which can take 2-9 months. During these months, you will need to make sure her heart rate is not elevated due to high energy play or exercise. Janet will also need continued use of monthly Heartworm prevention going forward. These medical needs will be the responsibility of the adopter. If you are interested in adopting Janet, please fill out an adoption application. --------------------------------------------"Clear the Shelter" PromoFor applications received from 6/15/2024 through 6/30/2024, Warrior Dog Rescue is reducing the adoption fee of all pups over 1 year old. Story
Hi, I'm Bree. My sisters and I came to Minnesota from Alabama to find our new homes. I'm a petite girl who loves to snuggle up with my humans. I love belly rubs and also love playing with my foster dog, who is much, much bigger than me, but so much fun! I also love kids and love to play with my toys. I'm very aware of and attentive to my humans and think I would like to be in a home where someone will have time to give me lots of attention! I cant wait to meet you! --------------------------------------------All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption. Story
Hi my name is Susan and I am looking for my forever home! Here are some things you might want to know about me: I sleep in a kennel at night and during the day when my foster parents are away. I am also quickly catching on to potty training. My foster parents keep me on a schedule and watch my cues to make sure I do my business outside. I love treats and they are motivating me to learn commands like sit, stay and come. I am very adventurous and love to sniff around. I had never been a leash before coming to Minnesota but my foster parents are teaching me it is fun to walk around the neighborhood. I meet all the neighbors and love all the attention I get. They tell me how cute I am, and what girl doesn’t want to hear that. Also, car rides don’t bother me a bit. My foster parents buckle me in and I just relax until we reach our destination. I like playing with other dogs, kids, or just entertaining myself with toys. But when it is time to relax, there is nothing better than a lap and belly rubs. I am ready to embark on the next chapter of my journey with a loving forever family. If you are looking for a furry friend who is fun, smart and loves endless cuddles, I’m your gal! --------------------------------------------All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption.
