Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Louise, one of our newest residents at the Mikey & Me Kennels for Happy Days Rescue. Louise is an 8 year old Boxer Mix, she’s a genuinely sweet and loving dog, and she’s endured more pain and sorrow in her life than any dog should ever have to. Louise was found in a home in Ohio when Child Protective Services was called to do a welfare check on children in the home.  But, as most neglected and abused dogs usually are, Louise has shown us that she is resilient, happy, loving, and excited to see what her future has in store. I took Louise to the Vet on Monday and she has come a long way since being rescued. She’s put on 8 pounds, she tested negative for Heart Worm disease, and her blood work showed that her prior anemia has been resolved. We are feeding Louise smaller amounts of food four times daily and her energy is good. After previously being locked in a bedroom with no food, Louise has been eager to go outside, take walks, engage in the play area, and to discover new things. Please help me find this deserving girl a forever home. There are people out there that are looking for older dogs and she will make a wonderful companion. She weighs just 36 pounds and she very much enjoys one on one cuddle time on the couch. If you would like to meet Louise, please submit an adoption application under her name at happydaysdogandcatrescue.org. Daniel DePew Mikey & Me   Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.    Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Do you have tennis balls, like a lot of them, if not will you buy some? If your answer is yes than you might be the home for me! See I am simple girl but I do require lots of tennis balls!! I like other toys but nothing gets me as excited as having tennis balls! My foster says I am just a happy gal, that is good with all people even kiddos! I am house broken, but I may have had a couple accidents but I am still recovering from taking care of my 5 babies for the last several weeks. They all have found their forever homes and now it’s my turn. I was a great mom but my foster promised I never ever have to do it again, which sounds perfect to me! I really love my foster home. See, I also get alone time and have my own room, I have adults and kids who play fetch with me a few times a day. They all helped me get better on the leash, to come when I was called, I am actually even starting to learn how to settle down and watch TV. I would probably like to stay here but they have some big dogs here, I just don’t like when they get in my way. My foster thinks I will much prefer to be the only dog in a home.  I think that is true at least to start. The cats here don’t bother me. Did I mention my NEED for tennis balls, oh I did, okay. Well that’s all for now. Let lastdaydogrescue.org know if you want to meet me by filling out an application. &#226&#128&#139Click here to watch a video of Pu Litter Eevee (Mom).Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. November 4, 2024, 7:53 am

Hi spark is a loving affected dog, he love to be with his owner ( will follow you everywhere)😍. He loves children but can be a wiggle butt but knows how to apologize ( the cuteness things). He at time like to be left alone and will go sit in his cage until he is ready to be bothered. Around 9 pm is his bed time, anytime after 9 I let him be cause he like his rest. He love his alone time with his human parents outside of his human siblings. He love to say hi to everyone.

Story
They call me Exuberant, Handsome and Sweet but you can choose a new name for me when we adopt each other. I don’t care what you call me, as long as you call me. I’m a happy dog who loves people more than anything else in the world. I’m a 4+ year old mix, with a 22” collar and am very big and strong. The Vet said I weigh 73 pounds. Don’t let that scare you because I am just a mushy ball of love. I like to let everyone know how happy I am to see them by twirling around and wagging my tail as fast as it will go. This is usually when they call me Exuberant. I like to have fun. I’m such a good boy and I have good potty manners. I prefer being inside with people at night especially. Since I have a lot of energy and need exercise, your large fenced yard will be well-used. My foster peeps say I need a family, not a job. They know that I’m a quick learner and will be someone’s best dog ever. Because I’m big and young at heart, my new humans should have some experience with dogs and be able to work with someone of my stature. I promise I will try to do everything you ask enthusiastically. I don’t like loud booming noises (fireworks or dynamite) or gunfire but neither do most of my friends. Health wise, I am terrific; up to date on shots and tested negative for heartworms. Foster peeps say it means I will get my forever home very soon! Maybe it’s yours! FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. The adoption fee Includes Age-Appropriate Vaccinations (DA2PPV, Bordetella, Rabies), Deworming, Spay/Neuter, Microchip, Flea, Tick and Heartworm Prevention, and Sheltering. We found him at the River Rouge Shelter waiting for his second chance. Approximate age / Weight: 3 years old and 85 lbs. Personality: Cobi is just a big lug who wants to be near his humans. He enjoys a good snuggle and nap as much as he likes some sunny patio time. Cobi thrives on routine and adapted to living in his foster home easily. Cobi needs space and patience when introduced to new folks, particularly men. He just needs to know that a guy is trustworthy. He absolutely adores his foster dad. Cobi is up for car rides and doesn’t mind trips to the vet. Loves treats and is learning the basics in foster care. Doesn't pull on leash but zig-zags a bit to get to sniffs. New Home: Cobi could fit into many home situations. He really just wants someone to love. Good With Kids: Did well with kids he's met. Suggest older kids. Good With Other Dogs: Yes, not a big fan of high energy dogs Good With Cats: Unknown. Uninterested in squirrels so might like cats. Housetrained: Yes Crate Trained: Yes Walks Nicely On A Leash: Yes when wearing harness. Knows Basic Commands: Mostly Energy Level (Couch Potato, Moderate or High): Moderate Special Needs: Ear cleansing to avoid infections. Current getting every other week nail trims to shorten the quicks to obtain better standard nail length. Physical Fence: Ideal but would likely do well on tie-out or walks. Favorite Activity: Nap on the couch with favorite blanket and neck rubs. Arrival story: Junior was found on the streets of Detroit by a good Samaritan who provided a safe place and vet care prior to arriving at Waggin' Tails. Approximate age / Weight: 8ish yrs old and 55 lbs. Personality: Junior is super sweet, loving and is just happy to be by your side. He loves destroying stuffed toys, chewing on Benebones, and noshin' on stuffed Kongs or lick mats. Our boy is super super food motivated and his tail rarely stops wagging. He enjoys a romp in the yard, a walk around the block, a car ride, and most of all a nap on the couch with his favorite blanket. He’ll curl up next to you and loves tushy and neck rubs best. Junior is house trained and crate trained, is content being on his own for periods of time, is a champ at the vet, and is getting better at his routine ear washes and nail trims – he never hated them, just doesn’t want to sit still for them. Nicknames: Junie, June Bug, Uncle June, the list could go on. You call, he comes. Smart boy is learning the basic queues (like sit) and has excellent recall, doing well keeping eyes on his handler in one-on-one training class, not barking at other dogs on leash. Junior takes treats quickly so little kids may not be best match to live day-to-day but he's met younger kids and been great with them. Forever Home: Junior is filled with tons of love to give his next family and will quickly become your best bud! While pretty low maintenance and not really up for big adventures he sure does enjoy a car ride and walks and would love nothing more than to be your partner in crime! Good With Kids: Ages 12 and up Good With Other Dogs: Dog selective but good at doggie daycare Good With Cats: No Housetrained: Yes Crate Trained: Yes House Manners: Good Walks Nicely On A Leash: Workin’ on it Knows Basic Commands: Yes Energy Level (Couch Potato, Moderate or High): Go, Go, Go Special Needs: Physical Fence: Yes Nickname: Butt Butt, Butter Bear, Little Miss when I'm getting into trouble Favorite game: Fetch (though I'm still working on nicely giving the toy back), I am obsessed with my big Jolly ball. Arrival story: I was lucky to be sprung from a crowded shelter. Approximate age / Weight: 1 year old and 35 lbs. HELLO! My name is Butters though my foster mom loves to call me Butt Butt. Do you want to play fetch? I love to show off by running around outside, chasing toys but then come inside for cuddle time and watch TV. Do you like paw patrol? I do! My foster mom taught me how to sit, shake, come when called, learning the Find-it game, and we are working to redirect my enthusiasm when greeting new people or trying to get their attention I LOVE meeting new people! I’m affectionate from the get-go. I’m so smart, too! Treat motivated, and I take those treats gently, curious, and want to learn new things. I’m good at the vet’s office, being handled, and on car rides. Though I should be safely secured so I don’t try to take the wheel. While I live in a foster home with two other dogs, I would prefer to have humans all to myself. Some dogs don't like my enthusiasm. I am a good girl and respectfully play with my dog friends at doggie daycare, though. Forever Home: I’m a wee pocket pitty just lookin’ for a person/couple that wants a bestie to have fun and cuddles with. I’d like to be able to sleep in bed with you as I love curling right up against my people to sleep. I’m moving into my teenage phase so I do need guidance and additional training to help me become the amazing companion I’m meant to be. I’ve got so much love to give to humans who adopt me.
