Story
Pepper is an active, cuddly, funny puppy that came into rescue after being kept in a shed in Flint with 10 brothers and sisters Her favorite person in her foster home is a 12yr old boy. She spent spring break glued to his side or napping in his lap. She's very much a velcro dog, always glued to her humans wanting to follow them anywhere they go. She's a smart pup who has been diligently working on potty training and has already figured out what she's expected to do outside. She's been very curious about cats but runs away the second they get upset. She has an adorable face with her unique tri-color and slightly wrinkly snout. We know anyone would fall in love upon meeting her! She is expected to be a med- Lg breed size ##2350637##

Story
Harper is a sweetheart and loves to cuddle and borrow underneath the covers with you. She loves to swim and play, but we believe that she needs to go to a home with someone who is experienced with bully breeds. We have a five year-old male German Shepherd, and they will play and get along great most of the time, but there have been instances where Harper will show random aggression. We are not sure what is triggering this and we don’t understand why it’s happening. We have a toddler at home and can no longer have Harper in our house. We believe that she would be a great dog if she was given the proper training and if she was with someone who could give her that training and attention she needs.

Story
Betsy is a FUN dog who loves to be with other dogs, maternal and bouncy. She is not aggressive or bossy but does have a bark and her terrier DNA comes out when meeting new smaller dogs. She has spent most of her time with bigger dogs and enjoys being the 'shortie' of the playgroup. Betsy is not food motivated, nibbles through the day, but has managed to become a bit fluffy. 50 lb dog now, she loves car rides, water! and sunbathing. Betsy is spayed, up to date on vaccines and very health - a bit fluffy as she has matured, now 4 years old. Her breed had been a guess until now! a donated DNA test revealed the classic Houston mutt mix of American Pit Bull Terrier, Lab, Boxer, German Shepherd, Shar Pei, Chow Chow. She is a short dog with medium double coat and a sharp mind. She has been fostered with kids, other dogs and in a house/apartment. She is crate trained and loves routine - literally bounces up and down, runs outside then back into her crate to nap. She would benefit from a yard due to her energy.

Story
In 2018 I came to MAS after being surrendered by my family for not having enough time for me. The sanctuary is a wonderful place and all.... but at 5 years old it was a big and pretty stressful transition for me. I have done my best to adjust to my new surroundings, but I miss the quiet home life. My favorite things in the whole world are snuggling with my people and going for scenic adventures. I am not as young as I once was, but I do like getting out and I have grown to appreciate the little things life has to offer. All my friends at MAS get a good laugh spending time with me; whether it be my awkward and goofy smile or the love of my toys (rolling around playing with them makes me feel young again)! You might be wondering why I am still at Mackenzie's and have yet to find my forever family.... Being an older guy, with limited social skills (I should be the only pet in an adult only home), finding the right home for me has been a bit of slim pickin's. But I will always hold on to the hope that somewhere out there I will be exactly what someone is looking for and will get to experience home life again. If you are a lonesome homebody looking for a best friend, I think I might be just what you are looking for! To find out, submit your adoption application below! My birthday is 3/22/13 For safety's sake, we are looking for homes with physical fenced in areas. Please fill out our online adoption survey at www.mackenzies.info/adopt/adoption-survey-application/

Story
At Christmas time, holiday tinsel is one of the best ways to spruce up your home with some cheer and festivity; but wouldn't it be great to have some of that same tinsel cheer for the whole year? I'm pretty sure that's where I got the name, because that's exactly what I do! I think it's pretty safe to say we all love the gifting aspect of the holiday season, and I am no exception. As you can see from the video, I love toys! Personally, my favorite aspect of every day, is quality time spent together. I am full of that "in front of the fireplace" warmth that is the highlight of the season...or really any season. Snuggling in the laps of all my friends, giving kisses, joy, and laughs every day of the year would be a dream come true! While I can appreciate some kitty-time snuggles, I am much more apt to be in my person's lap cuddling, but I am happy to share a home with a feline friend. I would be happiest in a home with older children that can handle my occasional puppy-like playstyle (that...and I can be a little vocal and pushy about my need for attention sometimes). I would love to have a doggy playmate, but I do need proper introductions with dogs, as I am dog selective. Being dog selective means that I have made several canine friends, but much like humans, I don't care to be friends with every dog I meet. Any potential fur siblings will get the chance to meet me for a play date before I go home, to make sure we get along as well as ribbons and bows! If you would like a little bit of every-day Christmas magic in your home, submit an adoption application to the website below, and I promise to decorate your heart and home with all my love! Story
Much like Anakin Skywalker, the force is strong with me. For real....I am a beefcake! Don't worry, I have not gone to the dark side, a lot of my beefcakiness is put to use holding my bed down. But anyone who is foolish enough to underestimate my strength and challenge me to a tug game will get a taste of the true chosen one! I am a fun-loving good boy; but it is fair to say there is a bit of puppy escapade inside me at times. Practicing the righteous ways of the Jedi has been an amazing pastime for me to keep me on the light side. I love going for walks through the galaxy (really, it's been the scenic grounds at MAS, but a guy can dream right?). With continued Padawan training from an Obi-Wan Kenobi of my own, we can harness the force to positive outlets for me! Which honestly, I am so treat and reward motivated that with consistency, I am sure I could be a Jedi in no time! I am a fairly sociable guy, I have made some canine friends here at MAS, and when I met a cat I was more interested in playing with my rope toy than befriending it. Story
This is my boy blue. He originally was rescued by me a little over 5 years ago when his previous owner lost her home to unfortunate circumstances. Blue came from a household full of kids and other animals. I learned alot while fostering him, and while he may be okay with other dogs/cats, he has a very playful side to him that some animals might not like so much (including cats), so preferably he is probably best to be placed in a home where he is the center of all the attention. He is a very thick dog, very powerful, but will also give you all the lovings and attention you could ever ask for. He is fixed, and roughly around 7 years old. He loves a good snowball fight, or even a summer time swim or playing in the sprinkler. ( honestly so cute). He has always been a good boy and he is very protective of his family, but likes to show you how big of a bark he has when other animals or people pass by. Blue has been looking for a forever home and were hoping to find the perfect fit!
