Story
My name is Olive and I am a very sweet 11-12 month old puppy. I love to go on walks and runs with my person. Are you looking to get into shape for the summer? I would be your perfect bestie to hold you accountable. I am a bit selective when it comes to canine friends and really do not care much for those felines (I like to chase). I am housebroken and crate trained, so that is a bonus for you. Story
Much like Anakin Skywalker, the force is strong with me. For real....I am a beefcake! Don't worry, I have not gone to the dark side, a lot of my beefcakiness is put to use holding my bed down. But anyone who is foolish enough to underestimate my strength and challenge me to a tug game will get a taste of the true chosen one! I am a fun-loving good boy; but it is fair to say there is a bit of puppy escapade inside me at times. Practicing the righteous ways of the Jedi has been an amazing pastime for me to keep me on the light side. I love going for walks through the galaxy (really, it's been the scenic grounds at MAS, but a guy can dream right?). With continued Padawan training from an Obi-Wan Kenobi of my own, we can harness the force to positive outlets for me! Which honestly, I am so treat and reward motivated that with consistency, I am sure I could be a Jedi in no time! I am a fairly sociable guy, I have made some canine friends here at MAS, and when I met a cat I was more interested in playing with my rope toy than befriending it. "The biggest problem in the universe is no one helps each other." - Anakin (Star Wars: The Phantom Menace) If you would like to help Anakin by giving him a forever home, submit your adoption application to the website below! DOB: 3/2/2022 For safety's sake, we are looking for homes with physical fenced in areas. Please fill out our online adoption survey at www.mackenzies.info/adopt/adoption-survey-application/

Story
At Christmas time, holiday tinsel is one of the best ways to spruce up your home with some cheer and festivity; but wouldn't it be great to have some of that same tinsel cheer for the whole year? I'm pretty sure that's where I got the name, because that's exactly what I do! I think it's pretty safe to say we all love the gifting aspect of the holiday season, and I am no exception. As you can see from the video, I love toys! Personally, my favorite aspect of every day, is quality time spent together. I am full of that "in front of the fireplace" warmth that is the highlight of the season...or really any season. Snuggling in the laps of all my friends, giving kisses, joy, and laughs every day of the year would be a dream come true! While I can appreciate some kitty-time snuggles, I am much more apt to be in my person's lap cuddling, but I am happy to share a home with a feline friend. I would be happiest in a home with older children that can handle my occasional puppy-like playstyle (that...and I can be a little vocal and pushy about my need for attention sometimes). I would love to have a doggy playmate, but I do need proper introductions with dogs, as I am dog selective. Being dog selective means that I have made several canine friends, but much like humans, I don't care to be friends with every dog I meet. Any potential fur siblings will get the chance to meet me for a play date before I go home, to make sure we get along as well as ribbons and bows! If you would like a little bit of every-day Christmas magic in your home, submit an adoption application to the website below, and I promise to decorate your heart and home with all my love! Story
In 2018 I came to MAS after being surrendered by my family for not having enough time for me. The sanctuary is a wonderful place and all.... but at 5 years old it was a big and pretty stressful transition for me. I have done my best to adjust to my new surroundings, but I miss the quiet home life. My favorite things in the whole world are snuggling with my people and going for scenic adventures. I am not as young as I once was, but I do like getting out and I have grown to appreciate the little things life has to offer. All my friends at MAS get a good laugh spending time with me; whether it be my awkward and goofy smile or the love of my toys (rolling around playing with them makes me feel young again)! You might be wondering why I am still at Mackenzie's and have yet to find my forever family.... Being an older guy, with limited social skills (I should be the only pet in an adult only home), finding the right home for me has been a bit of slim pickin's. But I will always hold on to the hope that somewhere out there I will be exactly what someone is looking for and will get to experience home life again. If you are a lonesome homebody looking for a best friend, I think I might be just what you are looking for! To find out, submit your adoption application below! Story
Make sure you let us know you saw Bren on Adopt-a-pet. At 13.5 years old, Bren has found herself as one of the many unclaimed strays here at the shelter. Given her age, this is especially heartbreaking as she deserves the softest blankets, the most delicious food, and an owner that adores her. A Boxer mix, she still has a little pep in her step, and a whole lot of love to give. We want all the best for Bren so we want for her to be the only pet and we're hoping for a fenced yard too. P.S. Bren did have a lipoma mass removed on the R side of her rib area on 10/11. She will need to have a re-check 14 days from that date. *Bren is not accepting of other dogs or cats. We're not sure what she's experienced in her past life that has turned her off from them, but at this stage, she deserves to relax and enjoy the rest of her life the way she prefers.

Story
Harper is a sweetheart and loves to cuddle and borrow underneath the covers with you. She loves to swim and play, but we believe that she needs to go to a home with someone who is experienced with bully breeds. We have a five year-old male German Shepherd, and they will play and get along great most of the time, but there have been instances where Harper will show random aggression. We are not sure what is triggering this and we don’t understand why it’s happening. We have a toddler at home and can no longer have Harper in our house. We believe that she would be a great dog if she was given the proper training and if she was with someone who could give her that training and attention she needs.

Story
Sol was born on December 23, 2020, during the pandemic, when my sister's dogs had a litter of puppies. His dad is a red-nose pit bull, and his mom is a blue-nose pit bull. Sol is a sweet, well-behaved boy who was crate trained as a puppy and is fully housebroken. Although he has some anxiety, he’s generally a loving and loyal companion. He gets nervous around rain, wind, thunder, lightning, loud noises, the dark, and even shadows. Sol loves running and socializing with other dogs, and he does well around our two children, following instructions, especially when they remember to feed him snacks. As much as I wish I could give him the attention he deserves, my family has grown, and I’ve been traveling more, which means I haven’t been able to meet his needs fully. It’s with a heavy heart that I realize he deserves a home where he can get the love, care, and attention he needs and truly thrives.

Story
Hazel is a wonderful dog but does not get a lot with our other female dogs. She has started more than enough fights. She gets a long wonderfully with our male dogs and our cat. She loves kids and people. She is very low maintenance. She would love a home where she can just lounge around all day. I think she would also be great for someone elderly as she requires very little care.
