Story
Hi my name is Jackson! I am a shy kind of dog who is looking for a patient owner who is willing to give me time to adjust and open up in my new home. I will seek comfort from my favorite people while I work on my confidence. I’m looking for a lowkey household without any young kids so I can be your main focus. If you give me a chance, you could be just the person I am looking for, and I could be the dog to make you feel complete!

Story
This girl is a sweetheart! Lucy is super affectionate and great with people. She is approaching 9 years old, is very healthy, and moderately active. She is housebroken, knows some basic commands (sit, stay, come, leave it, off). Super easy to groom - very patient with baths and lets me wipe her feet when she comes inside. Even pedicures, but those take food for motivation. Her mom works more than full time and has limited access to doggie daycare.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Do you have tennis balls, like a lot of them, if not will you buy some? If your answer is yes than you might be the home for me! See I am simple girl but I do require lots of tennis balls!! I like other toys but nothing gets me as excited as having tennis balls! My foster says I am just a happy gal, that is good with all people even kiddos! I am house broken, but I may have had a couple accidents but I am still recovering from taking care of my 5 babies for the last several weeks. They all have found their forever homes and now it’s my turn. I was a great mom but my foster promised I never ever have to do it again, which sounds perfect to me! I really love my foster home. See, I also get alone time and have my own room, I have adults and kids who play fetch with me a few times a day. They all helped me get better on the leash, to come when I was called, I am actually even starting to learn how to settle down and watch TV. I would probably like to stay here but they have some big dogs here, I just don’t like when they get in my way. My foster thinks I will much prefer to be the only dog in a home.  I think that is true at least to start. The cats here don’t bother me. Did I mention my NEED for tennis balls, oh I did, okay. Well that’s all for now. Let lastdaydogrescue.org know if you want to meet me by filling out an application. &#226&#128&#139Click here to watch a video of Pu Litter Eevee (Mom).Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. January 26, 2025, 6:18 pm

Story
Make sure you let us know you saw Bren on Adopt-a-pet. At 13.5 years old, Bren has found herself as one of the many unclaimed strays here at the shelter. Given her age, this is especially heartbreaking as she deserves the softest blankets, the most delicious food, and an owner that adores her. A Boxer mix, she still has a little pep in her step, and a whole lot of love to give. We want all the best for Bren so we want for her to be the only pet and we're hoping for a fenced yard too. P.S. Bren did have a lipoma mass removed on the R side of her rib area on 10/11. She will need to have a re-check 14 days from that date. *Bren is not accepting of other dogs or cats. We're not sure what she's experienced in her past life that has turned her off from them, but at this stage, she deserves to relax and enjoy the rest of her life the way she prefers.

Story
Journey has been at the rescue for close to 3 years! Despite his lengthy stay he has continued to be incredibly sweet and affectionate. He is not only friendly towards humans, but also plays well with other dogs, making him an ideal companion for a multi-dog household. He is playful - loves toys. Journey also enjoys meeting new people, always hoping that one of the new humans will take him home. It is hard to believe that this friendly guy has been in rescue for most of his life. Is it because he isn't as pretty as some other dogs? It certainly isn't because of his behavior. Journey is waiting to have a home of his own with people who will provide him with the love and attention he deserves.FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. Story
He is an American Bully with an easy going attitude. Lazy. Affectionate. Playful. Quiet. He looks like a seal or potbelly pig with his extra large head with cropped off ears and tiny legs. He is healthy (he has easy to manage seasonal allergies) and active, crate trained and house trained. Dog and kid friendly- He is fostered with dogs of every size, he does best with larger females since he can be bossy. Most male dogs try to challenge him due to his size. Cheeseburglar is a LOVER not a fighter, he barks for attention. He spends most of his days napping on a Quilt in the AC. Favorite Color: Orange Favorite Toy: Squeaky Duck Stuffy Favorite Food: Cheese HIS-STORY: This strikingly handsome low rider was caught sleeping curled up in the home office with the cats, 'caught' because he didn’t live there and had pushed open a door during a storm and made himself at home. He was put outside to wait for Animal Control, a ride to the county jail for trespassing. He was bailed out and efforts made for the past few weeks to local owners. Always surprised at who needs a second chance, this American Bully with cut off ears and a dominate personally, needs a confident family to give him rules and exercise. Cheeseburglar needed a few extra meals and medications for a skin infections from fleas (dermatitis) which has resolved. Now neutered, up to date on vaccines and testing heartworm negative.

Story
Hi my name is Darla! My foster parent says I`m a very cuddly and friendly girl; my big ears are like a radar for finding new friends! I like to go for long walks to get all of the ` doggie news` via interesting smells. I can be pretty energetic, but that should be expected from a young lady like me. Once I get my fill, I take nice big naps just like the rest of them! If you have a dog already who you would like me to be siblings with, I would need to meet them first to make sure we get along. Some dogs can intimidate me, but I am working on understanding that dogs can be my friend. I would absolutely love to meet you!`Have you ever thought about adding an addition to your family like a cat, dog etc.? If so, would you want a hamster, guinea pig, dog, cat, or something else? Would you want a cuddly or hyper pet? Would you like to take naps, play, cuddle? If the answers were a dog, cuddly pet, and yes then Darla’s a great choice! You should adopt Darla because… First a lot of people love cuddling. Do you? Well, Darla does and she’ll cuddle with you every day and that`s fun. Secondly she loves naps and she will definitely nap with you if you want and I’m sure you`ll have fun. Finally she`s loving and just wants a family that loves her. In conclusion you should adopt Darla from the humane society.` - written by a 4th Grader at Eberwhite ElementaryDarla is currently living in one of our wonderful foster homes. Story
Gopher is a handsome, easy going dog looking for a soft sofa he can spend his days on. He is a low to medium energy boy that loves to be with his people and snuggle on the couch in the evenings. He is always up for an adventure, and enjoys walks where he can spend time sniffing all the wonderful smells he can find outside. He likes people, and we haven`t noticed any negative reactions on walks. He is crate and house trained and knows some commands, but is learning more in his foster home.`If you want an amazing dog, then Gopher is a good choice! He is house trained and he loves sniffing the amazing smells on walks. He is a terrier pit bull mix. He is one year old and he is a boy. He likes peanut butter and he loves to sleep on couches and takes naps so if your couch is comfy this is the dog for you. He loves walks.` - written by a 4th grader at Wines ElementaryGopher is currently living in one of our wonderful foster homes! Adopting from foster is easy.
