Story
MY ADOPTION FEE WILL BE WAIVED FEBRUARY 17 - 23 AS PART OF THE MISSED CONNECTIONS ADOPTION EVENT !!! We are looking for a really special family for this dog, as his life up to this point has been anything but normal. He`s going to need experienced, dedicated people to help him catch up on all the experiences that he has missed. Below you can find some guidelines for what type of adopters we`re looking for so you can decide whether to come in to adopt! First, Frank doesn`t have much experience walking on leash, nor has he seen most of the world. Adopters will need to be able to provide a secure outdoor space at a home that won`t rely on leash walks for exercise and potty breaks. Keeping his world small to start will help Frank adjust to his new environment and get comfortable. Very young kids are likely to be too overwhelming for this guy, but we know every child is an individual. It`s possible he can live with kids who are able to give a dog the space they need to adjust, but Frank has shown fear around children in the past. Toddlers or kids who have a hard time giving space will likely be too much for him. Lastly and most importantly, we are looking for someone who is patient and dedicated. Frank has a long road ahead of him with house training, leash walking, and life in general, but he has so much love to give. We are looking for folks who are ready to step up and put in a lot of work to get him where he needs to be. Please come with all your patience and understanding. Our small staff is doing our best to move quickly while also making the animals` wellbeing a priority! Dogs will not be available for general viewing, as our kennels are closed to walk through traffic to reduce their stress. We will have more dogs available in the coming days and weeks, so stay tuned here for updates on those!

Story
Meet Sampson, a happy, bouncy, and super wiggly guy who loves to play fetch and go for runs! Always on the go, Samspon thrives on consistent exercise, from long walks to exciting runs. He would make a great adventure companion for a hiker, runner, or otherwise active and outdoorsy adopter. Sampson goes on runs with his dog friends but prefers to be the leader or he tries to catch up to them. Lots of things make Sampson excited, so adopters should continue to train with him and provide plenty of enrichment so he can learn to settle and enjoy quiet time. When it comes to training he is always ready to learn! For an energetic and enthusiastic pup, he`s also surprisingly snuggly - he is very affectionate and loves belly rubs from his human friends. He`s still learning the difference between a play session and snuggle time, and could use some support to successfully make that transition. Kids in the home should be able to participate in training and unfazed by a bouncy pup and his goofy antics. If you think Sampson could be a good match for your home and would like to learn more, stop by MSPCA Northeast Animal Shelter. We have open adoption hours 11:30am-5pm daily - no appointment or application needed. Please note, in an effort to keep the stress levels reduced for the dogs in our care, our dog kennel areas will not be open to walk through. Interested adopters will work with a matchmaker on staff to determine which dog(s) they are interested in and if we can identify a match, potential adopters will be able to meet those dogs outside of the kennel. Cat areas will remain open to walk through.s will remain open to walk through.

Story
Meet Blitz! Blitz is a 6-year-old, 55 pound working dog. He's smart, food driven, and loves playing fetch. He sleeps through the night in his crate, is house trained, loves learning new tricks, and can be good with other dogs if they allow him to calmly greet them. Blitz would do best in an adult only home, with an owner who is active. He loves going on walks, runs, hikes and car rides. He can be wary of new people, and will need someone to continue to train him on confidence building. Blitz will walk in a heel when requested, he is a quick learner, super food motivated, and will LOVE his owners immensely. Update from foster Mom: With his people, he is the BEST dog, and he's good with dogs if they aren't pushy. He's a quick learner, a cuddle bug, and house-trained. He LOVES hiking with me in the woods, has an amazing recall, and loves playing fetch. I believe he would be the best dog on a farm, where he isn't forced to interact with strangers. I strongly believe that when he is off leash, he will choose to avoid strangers as opposed to confronting them. So why has this amazing already trained pup been with us so long? He doesn't do too well with strangers. We've gotten people interested, but seemingly they seem to ignore his "wary of new people" bit in his bio, and those who have applied want a friendly dog who is ok with meeting everyone. Are you someone who will allow Blitz to become comfortable with strangers slowly? Maybe an active outdoorsy introvert? Or okay with leaving your pup at home while you go out to be extroverted? Blitz is AMAZING. He just needs someone who understands he isn't too fond of people until he feels safe with them. This means not allowing others to approach him on walks and when out and about. No trips to Home Depot or TJ Maxx for this guy. He only needs outings with his new parents! P.S. This means he will take time to warm up to you too! If you are interested in finding out more about Blitz, please fill out an adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BRO-A-67 Blitz is being fostered in Grafton. The adoption fee is $350. Like Broken Tail Rescue on Facebook!. Follow Broken Tail Rescue on Instagram! Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.

Story
Zeus is a loving 10 month old, 35 pound Boxer/Boston terrier/bulldog mix. He is loyal, smart and extremely affectionate. He is neutered, up to date on all vaccinations and micro chipped. He would be a dog trainers dream because he’s enjoys obedience so much! He loves walks, playing fetch and rides in the car. I currently have Zeus and his sister (same litter) and it’s been very difficult to train and give separate attention to both which they both so deserve. I know they will thrive and be more successful without each other. It’s only fair to give them both that chance. Zeus will be an excellent family dog and has so much love to give! Please message for more details.
