We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting. ***** Lady is 4yo, weighs 55lbs, is spayed, is up to date on her vaccines, and is microchipped. Lady dislikes her feet being touched or her toe nails being cut. Lady stays on the main level of the home during the day and sleeps in her crate or in the bed at night. She loves car rides. Her guardian adds: "Lady May is a delightful 4-year-old pup with a heart of gold!! Lady May's zest for life shines brightest during hikes and sunny days, where she loves to explore the great outdoors. Yet, don't be fooled by her adverturous spirit; indoors, she transforms into the ultimate couch companion, relishing in snuggles and cozy naps under the covers. Lady May is not only a sunbather but also a master of relaxation, making her the perfect balance between active and laid-back. Plus, with her stellar potty and crate training, she's a breeze to care for. The issue [incompatibility with canine housemate] began almost a year ago, and since then, I have taken several steps to resolve it. In regards to aggression towards my other dog, it was always random. Lady would just corner Oakley and grab onto his extra skin. Initially, I took Lady to the vet, who referred me to a trainer. When this did not help, I sought the advice of a dog behavior specialist, again upon the recommendation of my vet. Despite these efforts, the situation has not improved. My vet mentioned that some dogs reach their full maturity at age 4 and may experience personality changes, including becoming dog-aggressive. To help Lady during this stressful time, the vet recommended Lady be put on anxiety medication. NOTE: I have a report from my behavior specialist I will provide upon request to prospective adopter(s)." Lady's guardian explains why she has made the difficult decision to rehome her: "Ongoing issues with her no longer getting along with her housemate, my other dog." Lunge/Attack/Bite Incident: More than 10 days ago in Sykesville, MD Lady bit her canine housemate; the bite didn't break the skin; animal control was not involved. Lady's guardian offers a brief a medical history: "Lady is currently on anxiety medication." Lady's guardian states the following regarding children: Since Lady lives with children (ages 7, 10, and 16), her guardian recommends her living with children, stating "She is very laid back around children". Lady's guardian states the following regarding dogs: Although Lady lives with a dog, her guardian doesn't recommend her living with dogs, stating "She will bark at other dogs. While on walks, if she sees another dog, she will try to get near the dog and get on her hind legs". Lady's guardian states the following regarding cats: Since Lady hasn't lived with cats, her guardian doesn't recommend her living with cats, stating "She will bark at cats". Lady's guardian describes her as: Very active Couch potato Playful Friendly Likes to be touched Affectionate Always at your side Indoor Only Pet House-Trained Crate-Trained Likes men Likes women Lady's guardian describes her ideal future home: "Lady's ideal home would have a fenced in backyard, and no other pets in the home. I would like her to go to an active family that would be able to take her on walks and or hikes." Rehoming Fee: None Location: Sykesville, MD***** ADOPTION PROCESS 1.
