Story
Hi there, I'm Precious. They say that I am called this because I am the most precious dog here at God's Dogs Rescue. I came to the rescue in October of 2022 to have a safe place for me to have and raise my puppies. All my puppies were adopted by the end of January 2023, but I am still here looking for my furever home. I am a bigger girl, but this just means there is more of me to cuddle you, because I love cuddling it's one of my top 3 favorite things. 1) Food- I love food and will do almost anything you ask if you have a treat involved. 2) Cuddles- on your lap, on the couch, in the bed wherever there is a comfy space with pillows or a human I want to be there. 3) Kisses- I have a love of giving kisses to people, especially kids. Although not everyone likes it when I try to kiss them and that makes me sad. 4) Honorable mention- I like going on walks or in the car for a ride, although I prefer just lazing around at home. My current fosters say that I am a "house hippo with springs in my feet whatever that means; I just know sometimes, when I get super happy, I feel like I could fly- or jump really high. I love their kids and am very good with them even the tiny ones. I get along with most other dogs I meet, although I have a big personality about me, because I'm a boss, so sometimes other dogs don't like that about me. I tolerate cats although if they give me too much attitude or growl at me, I can't help but to give them piece of my mind. I like most new people I meet although I had a rough start in life so sometimes, I can be a little wary with men, with time though I adjust, and we can become best friends forever. A few more little details about me: I am 3 years old I am a Boxer/Shepherd mix I am great with kids I am good with Cats and Dogs I am crate-trained I am housebroken I can be adopted in Texas or anywhere in the US too! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area, $50 temporary fuel fee will be included)

Hello!!! My name is Teddy and let me "tell" you! My foster mom has given me an indian name as well!! I am called, "The little dog who is short, brave and like to talk back a whole lot :)" In other words, she LOVES ME!!! I mean SURE I am a talker, but if you want EVERYONE to know what you want and what you like... you can't be quiet!! So here I am, Teddy the Talker... a super smart and sassy boy who keeps everyone on their toes (or I may chew them!!) I am a youngster, only about 3 months old, I came in a sad and skinny kid but now I am thriving! Kind of like a plant, food/water/love, REPEAT! I am ready for my FUREVER family and let me TELL you, I love KIDS, and other dogs and people and food and toys and....... all kinds of things! I am a boxer mixed boy with ears that flip flop all over the place and a personality that will keep you entertained. I just really want a fun and active family who will use my smarts to make me the best friend they could ever have.... just takes time and training and yes, a BUNCH of treats too please! I got Diesel in February of 2018. His birthday is December 27, 2017. He is currently 6yo. Unfortunately, I'm going through a separation and cannot take him to my new home. He is very playful; his favorite toys are ropes. He is good with kids (older), but not other dogs. I'm unsure how he would be with a cat.

Story
MEET CINNAMON! (Descriptor: Sidekick) A fabulous candidate for a family or first dog, Cinnamon is a ~7 year old, 60 lb, hidden gem of a gal. One of the sensational seniors ready to learn your routine and settle down for pets and treats, Cinnamon is truly deserving of her very own home. Read what her short-term foster had to say about her lovely stay: 'On the ride bringing Cinnamon home, she was quiet and politely sitting in the backseat. She had no issue getting into the car and initially was shy but nevertheless very friendly, trusting, and well behaved for the car ride. “At home Cinnamon took to exploring right away, her bubbly personality came out and she was grinning ear to ear as she discovered each room of the house. She wasn’t crated because she was with me at all times and an excellent co-pilot. She is an even better cuddler who will also respectfully sleep at your feet through the night. Cinnamon loves a good squeaky stuffed toy and enjoys playing fetch indoors to get your attention. She did not express any signs of resource guarding and whilst tussling for a toy she will graciously lose the tug-o-war, especially if that means you will throw the toy for her again.  “I don’t recall her ever barking, possibly once when a package was dropped off, but naturally I applauded her for the notification. Cinnamon was never territorial or nervous waiting in the car and was complemented constantly on her looks and behavior as we strolled through places such as Tractor Supply. You can get Cinnamon excited and playful and then you can ask her to 'settle' and she will do just that, she even took a nap waiting next to me in the vet lobby.   “Cinnamon was always friendly and polite with new people she met in passing. From the first interaction, Cinnamon was always calm with my rabbit who enjoyed going up to say hello through his cage door and showed little interest when I brought my rabbit out for pets.  “Cinnamon was a treat to walk on a leash whilst greeting passing neighbors and their dogs from across the road. Cinnamon has excellent recall in the yard and did not pursue nearby squirrels or deer. However, she never missed an opportunity to roll in a fluffy pile of leaves. “Overall Cinnamon is an easy going dog who loves life and is proud to stay by your side. She is a seasoned older sidekick who is confident with surroundings and will happily relax while you focus on what you are doing. Cinnamon will happily surrender her stomach to be pet and does not mind some feet tickling or paw pad inspection. Lastly, even with some courtesy peanut butter, she will stand politely to be bathed. She has never had an accident in the house, and adapts well with a sporadic schedule. Truly a hidden gem of a dog, Cinnamon would make an excellent addition to be a first dog for a family or individual.' Can you be Cinnamon's person? Cinnamon's adoption donation fee is $350, which includes spay/neuter, routine vetting and a microchip. You can apply for Cinnamon by filling out our online application, which is found on our website www.tarashouse.org.  Please email us at info@tarashouse.net with any questions.July 1, 2024, 4:36 pm

We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting.  ***** Hattie is 1yo, weighs 30lbs, is spayed, is up to date on her vaccines, but is not microchipped.  Hattie doesn't like sudden loud noises; she's okay during car rides, but lies on the floor.  She is in her crate at home when guardian is not at home; she sleeps in the guardian's bed at night. Hattie's guardian explains why she has made the difficult decision to rehome her:  Hattie's guardian took her because she was with a family member whose suddenly is experiencing severe health problems. Bite Incident:  In March 2024, Hattie bit her canine sibling because she tried to take Hattie's bone away from her.  The bite didn't break the skin, animal control was not involved, and medical treatment was unwarranted. Hattie's guardian states the following regarding children:  Hattie hasn't lived with children so her guardian doesn't recommend her living with children, stating "She's been okay but at times can be unpredictable".  Hattie's guardian states the following regarding dogs:  Although Hattie currently lives with an older dog, her guardian doesn't recommend her living with dogs, stating "She barks but thinks the older dog triggers that". Hattie's guardian states the following regarding cats:  Since Hattie hasn't lived with nor otherwise been around cats, her guardian doesn't recommend her living with cats. Hattie's guardian describes her as: Very active Fence Jumper Likes to be touched Affectionate Indoor dog Crate-Trained Hattie's guardian describes her ideal future home:  "She would do best in a yard with a 6-ft fence or some place that she needs to be walked." Story
Skylos is a happy guy - he'd love to be someone's favorite dog, he's in a big pack where he doesn't get enough attention. He came to us about three years ago when his previous family was having medical problems. His biggest flaw is some resource guarding with other dogs - but that's usually managed by feeding and giving high value treats separately. He'd love to get outdoors on walks more - even a big backyard doesn't have enough new things to sniff. He's good on a leash - he needs a minute to get his zoomies out. He greets other dogs nicely. Very gentle meeting smaller dogs. Likes: Naps, following you around the house, looking out the window for the amazon truck and the neighborhood fox, and collecting the wreckage of stuffed toys. Dislikes: nail clipping, and when dinner is late. His velvet ears are irresistible and his jowl-to-drool ratio is low!

Story
Tully thought she'd found her forever home last year, but is back with us since she was picking on the other pups in the home. We think she could live with other dogs with success, as long as her adopter is very dog-savvy and is dedicated to making it work. In her foster home, she doesn't like being corrected by the other pups. She would make a wonderful only dog, as she wants ALL your attention at ALL times. We would NOT recommend cats, as she wants to chase them. She LOVES people, including kids! She is an obedience class graduate who walks well on leash, knows "place", "free", "leave it" and "let's go". She was trained on an invisible fence in her last home. Tully is house trained and crate trained, but would definitely prefer to be with her people when they're home. She also has potential as a sporting dog, doing barn hunts or agility, something of that nature. She gives the best kisses and everyone falls in love with her sweet nature. Don't miss out on this brindle beauty!

These pups are in Baltimore, Maryland too!

Story
Scooby Duke may seem a bit shy at first, but don't let that fool you - he's a sweetheart who warms up quickly and craves your attention. He's a true lover of treats, sunbathing, and, most of all, toys that he can play with for hours on end. This well-behaved pup is both crate trained and housebroken, making him the perfect addition to any home. One important note: Scooby Duke needs to be your one and only fur baby--no cats or dogs for this guy. If you're looking for a loyal companion who's as fun-loving as he is affectionate, Scooby Duke might just be your perfect match. Come meet him and let your home be filled with his joy and love! Notes from foster: Scooby Duke is a sweet little soul! We think he must be made of the densest material on the planet because he's somehow 50 pounds but comes in a rather small package. It must be hard carrying his big ol' blockhead around, because Scooby can often be found snoozing peacefully and/or sunbathing on the couch. One of his favorite activities is gazing excitedly out the window, keeping careful watch over the neighborhood happenings. He also loves playing with toys and sniffing all the things on walks! Scooby is one of the easiest fosters we've had - he's 100% housebroken, crate trained, and non-destructive.

Forget-Me-Nots are small, sometimes missed, flowers that symbolize true love, loyalty, and remembrance. At the Maryland SPCA, we classify a pet as a Forget-Me-Not to highlight an animal that may have some extra considerations for potential adopters to be aware of. Even though this pet may need a little extra TLC in order to fully bloom, we know they are still a strong candidate for adoption and they're sure to bring true love and loyalty into their new family. We hope you'll remember these beautiful creatures when you consider adopting. Hi. My name is Caesar. Somebody said I'm 9 years old. Hmmm... I act like I'm 9 months old a good bit, so don't let my grey hairs fool you! I still have a lot of pep in my step. And still I do need my rest, too. I love enjoying the outdoors in my foster family's fenced in back yard and "watching the world go by", playing with balls, rope toys and more, and taking walks with my foster family. I really, really love people and making new people friends. I sure would love a forever family of my own to spend the rest of my days with, showering each other with love and affection. Because of my high energy and large build I would do best in a home with older children instead of young children. So if you'd like love and wonderful company in your life ask for me, Caesar, at the front desk. And please bring a ball... actually two. Notes From Foster: Caesar is an absolute JOY from the moment he gets up in the morning till saying pleasant dreams to him at night. He is wonderful company, a love, and so much fun to be with. Whoever adopts this angel into their wonderful home will be most fortunate.

Hi, I'm Jackson! Named after Lamar Jackson - GO RAVENS! But let's talk about me. I'm a strong and curious guy. I love soft toys so much that I try to eat them, so it's best to only give me hard toys. I'm very smart and know commands like "Sit," "Down," "Off," and "Settle." I have a history of getting along well with other dogs, but I must go to a cat-free home because I will chase them. I also tend to chase squirrels, so a tight grip on the leash is necessary. With my intelligence and playful energy, I'm ready to find a loving home where I can thrive.
