Story
Ace is a 6.5 year old boxer/bully mix. His head is bigger than his butt, and he's a complete house hippo who loves to snuggle and chew on moose antlers. Ace did not have a great past few years, and is learning "how to dog". Clean bill of health from the vet, up to date on all his shots, and starting training. In the month and a half we've had Ace, he has learned quite a few commands like sit, down, leave it, paw, lie down, and roll over! Working on leash training now. He's eager to please his humans, and is very food and praise motivated. He LOVES playing with his flirt pole. We don't know how Ace would be around smaller humans - he's never been around them. Big prey drive chasing energy on this good boi, no-cat home is needed. He has always been an only dog, so we think he'll thrive best as the only animal in the house. This goodest moosehead deserves the best life, and we're hoping his person or people are just a tail wag away!

Story
Bean is a 3-yr old Boxer mix whose time was up at a southern shelter. Because he was such a great boy and a shelter favorite he needed a ticket out. Bean is a super sweet and goofy boy. Not only is he housebroken but he is great with dogs, kids and cats. He is fostered in Newport ME. Bean foster update: Bean LOVES to play with toys and carries one in his mouth at all times!! He does settle when he needs to and loves to cuddle. He has so much love to give, he's such a happy soul. He is pretty bomb proof - not scared of sounds or new things. Bean would REALLY benefit from another big dog to play with in his new home. He really loves other dogs, and seems submissive when it comes to play. I can take toys and bones away from him, no issues. He hides his bones, which is cute. He takes food from our hands very gently, nice manners. Waits patiently for his meals and hasn't shown any issues with food sharing or handling. I don't see signs of resource guarding so far. Bean doesn't like going INTO a crate, but once he's in, he's fine. Bean will need work on leash manners, but I think he would do much better using a gentle leader rather than collar, based on his size and strength! When I've taken him on car rides or in public, he does great!! He knows his name and knows the word "ball". Plays fetch very well! We are working on "sit". He does jump up gently for affection and to lick us all over neck/hands. He's so desperate for love, but too big to jump, so we're working with him on that. Bean is a great dog and can be left alone without issues. He stays close to people and hasn't tried to chase the deer and birds in the backyard. Watches life quietly with curiosity. So far not a barker at all. If you are looking for a big, gentle, and playful boy who would love you forever, he's your guy! Story
Posted January 2025 Would you like some chocolate chips with this Cookie? You don’t need any extra sweetness because this little dude is already chock full of it! He is 4 months old and 16 lbs. He definitely needs a few more pounds and will provide tons of love in return. We are not sure of his breed, his paperwork says Boxer mix but it's impossible to really know. He and his sister Biscuit were rescued by a good samaritan in Arkansas, she witnessed someone trying to give them away in a Walmart parking lot and was worried they might end up in a bad situation so she took them and now they are here in Maine! Cookie is being fostered with a lovely family who have three young kids and two older, bigger dogs whom he is doing fine with but his foster family says he is a lover of people more than the dogs. We can’t imagine a scenario where he wouldn’t fit! If you are interested in meeting Cookie or any of our sweeties, please fill out the application Please note: We do not have a physical facility where the dogs are kept. They are cared for in our wonderful foster network throughout New England. It is our expectation that, once approved, a potential family will meet the dog(s) in their foster placement where they are feeling safe and loved.

Story
Posted January 2025 This little love has fur like velvet! She is the cutest little peanut at only 13 lbs and 4 months old. Her paperwork says boxer mix but we have no idea because neither parent was known. Since arriving in Maine, they have both filled out a bit so we can’t see as many ribs, but have not gotten a lot bigger. A good Samaritan found her with her brother being given away in a Walmart parking lot; fearing a bad situation, she took them home and connected with our partner rescue in Arkansas. Biscuit is being fostered with grown kids and adult dogs and doing well with everyone; we also had the opportunity to see her in a school environment with children of all abilities and she just wants love from every single one of them. We can’t imagine a family who wouldn’t fall in love with this precious girl! If you are interested in adopting this lovebug or any of our sweeties please fill out our application. Please note: we do not have a physical location where the dogs are housed. They are cared for within our wonderful network of foster families throughout New England. Our expectation is that, once approved through the rescue, a potential family will meet the dog in the foster setting where they are feeling safe and loved. Thank you for considering rescue!

Story
Meet this incredible survivor! Found in Tipton County, this sweet boy was skin and bones, hairless, and overlooked by so many. We couldn’t leave him behind, and he’s come so far—from 17 to 36 lbs! With love, warmth, and plenty of food, his personality has blossomed. He adores other dogs, all people, his crate, and especially toys and sweaters. He’s house-trained, food-motivated, and ready for his forever home. Could it be with you? Once adopted he will travel via the Rescue Transport to his new family. They travel every weekend from Memphis, Tennessee to the north east, delivering pups along the way as far north as West Greenwich, Rhode Island. Transport is an additional $185. If you would like to make this cutie part of your family please follow the link below to our adoption application. Our turnaround time is typically less than 24 hours so please be prepared before you submit your application. https://forms.gle/APKvbgFJcaRvgKgk9
