Story
Rosie our sweet boxer is looking for a new home. She has attacked our older dog 3 times (all food related). She then went to live with a couple who had another boxer and a cat which she attacked (food related again). I have 3 kids and she’s been very loving towards us. She needs a home with NO PETS and someone who can walk her and help her potty train. She is a sweet pup just needs lots of love and patience.

Story
Dear Family&#44andlt;br/andgt;andlt;br/andgt;My name is Teddy&#44 and Iandamp;#39;m a sweet&#44 handsome gentleman who has reached his retirement years now and would like to find a home that wants to make me king of the castle&#44 and a bedfellow too - should you need someone to cuddle with in bed. andlt;br/andgt;andlt;br/andgt;I am seven years young&#44 and I love to play! Iandamp;#39;m also really smart and know how to ‘sitandamp;#39; and ‘comeandamp;#39; on command! My friends say they love taking me on walks because Iandamp;#39;m such a good boy and have a good pace - not too fast and not too slow. I walk calmly and at a gentle pace&#44 and I love to share the road with another shelter buddy or two or three. andlt;br/andgt;andlt;br/andgt;Iandamp;#39;ve been in a foster home for some time now and my foster mom calls me the best pup ever. And I mean EVER! She thinks Iandamp;#39;m perfection. I absolutely love to cuddle but also love to play with toys. I do pretty well in my crate while my foster is at work which Iandamp;#39;ve been told is a great skill to have. andlt;br/andgt;andlt;br/andgt;A few of my favorite things are peanut butter&#44 leash walks&#44 cuddling&#44 and going on car rides. I would be perfect for anyone! I can sometimes be a little set in my ways&#44 so Iandamp;#39;d prefer older kids who understand that. And while weandamp;#39;re chatting about kids&#44 if you have any&#44 Iandamp;#39;d really like to meet them before we go home to make sure weandamp;#39;re a good fit.andlt;br/andgt;andlt;br/andgt;In all honesty&#44 it has been such a very long wait. I want so much to make a real family as happy as I make my Foster Mom. Iandamp;#39;d sure like to have the chance to love you forever. Contact the shelter to find out about meeting me!andlt;br/andgt;andlt;br/andgt;Love from Teddy

Baxter is a courtesy listing for an individual or group seeking a new home for Baxter. Baxter is not part of the PAWS program.   We show our dogs by appointment only upon receipt of an online application which can be found at kcpaws.petfinder.com  Adoption fee for Baxter is $150 (sponsored).  If you are interested in Baxter, please complete the online application. link to application: https://form.jotform.com/230296113596155 Baxter is an adorable Pit/Boxer mix, perhaps Lab/Pit mix.  Baxter is about 8 years old and is a big ol goofy boy who loves to play with his stuffy toys. He is a happy go lucky sort of boy, but can be protective of his people.  Baxter is fine with some dogs and not with others so we would prefer he goes to a home with no other dogs.  When he does play with other dogs he has a rough and rowdy play style that cam be overwhelming to some dogs. The ideal home for Baxter would be a quiet house without a lot of in and out traffic of non family members coming and going, a nice couch or dog bed for him to lounge on, a toy box full of stuffy toys and a privacy fenced back yard.  He is not a dog that requires a lot of exercise so playing in the house with his toys or in the backyard should be fine for him. Please visit TARA's website at https://tarasdream.org/adopt to fill out an adoption application for this pet and for more info about the adoption process.Hi I'm Mack and I'm looking for a forever home! My friends call me Mackaroni-And-Cheese cause I'm such a cheese ball! I'm a big ole goof with lots of energy and I love to play! I am also very affectionate and adore belly rubs! While I get along with most dogs, I do like to chase small animals, so no cat, rabbit, or chicken friends for me! I can also be protective of my people on walks so I would prefer a home with a fenced yard for my outside activities! If I sound like a good match for you, apply to meet me!Approximate Birthdate: October 2019Adoption Fee: $200TARA's adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test (if age appropriate), heartworm and flea prevention, and deworming. Story
Meet Stewie My name is Stuart, but my friends call me Stewie. I'm a Pittie mix who is a little over 1 year old. I've been with my foster family for a few months now and am looking for a forever home of my own. My foster mom brought me to her home after meeting me because she felt really bad about the rough start I had to my life. You see, I was found by the Pet Resource Center of Kansas City's Outreach team in December. I'd been outside in the rain and cold over Christmas and I was skinny and scared. I wasn't sure if I could trust the humans who found me, but eventually I went along with them and was soon warm and safe and had food in my tummy. When my foster mom first brought me home with her, I was happy to find there were dogs in her home but I needed to make the male human in the home work for my trust, lol. He hand fed me 3 meals a day for a few days before I finally thought he was okay. I must keep some secrets to myself, but my foster parents quickly learned I wasn't treated very well by the humans who had me before. I don't want to tell them everything and make them sad, but they do know I was abused. I wasn't afraid of things in the house, but if someone made sudden movements I'd flinch. I'm doing a LOT better with that now thanks to all the love and patience from my foster family. It takes me some time to warm up to new humans, men mostly, but as soon as I know you're okay, I'm the bestest friend you could ever want! I give nice kisses, and will roll over for belly rubs. I do make my foster parents laugh a lot especially because of my "Super Top Secret Shoe Relocation Program". It's a mystery to everyone else except for me, but sometimes I think my foster parents' shoes or slippers need to be relocated to different areas of the house. I think it's super funny when they wake up in the morning and can't find their slippers! I also talk a LOT which sometimes frustrates me because my foster parents don't know what I'm trying to tell them. They think I should probably live in a house and not an apartment because I do talk so much. I like to go on walks, and I love learning new stuff. My foster mom has taught me how to sit, lay down, look at her, come here, and a few other things. I like it when she spends time with me teaching me stuff, and think I'd like a human who will continue doing things like that with me. I've put a lot of thought into this, and I think my ideal forever home will be one that's laid back but with humans who want to take me on walks every day. My BFF in my foster home is Soda Pop. We're pretty close in age and have lots of fun wrestling and playing and going on walks together. I don't need to live with another dog though because sometimes I just want to hang out and Soda just wants to play non-stop, which can be kinda annoying sometimes (but don't tell him I said that). If you're looking for a smart, handsome, affectionate guy who enjoys long walks and new adventures I'm your guy.
