Duke is a handsome 4.5 year old male boxer mix. This boy is a quick learner, hyper speed. He's already learned the ropes in his foster home and will be an outstanding, loyal companion for his new owner. Duke's prior owner sadly passed away and his family was unable to keep him. He has already learned "go to your room", "crate", and "go eat" at which time he goes over to his bowl for his meal. Amazing! He waits for permission to be invited onto the couch, but his face is so cute there's no way you can tell him no. He loves to give kisses and is a fantastic cuddler. He enjoys exploring the yard but is quick to want to come back to the indoor comforts when he's done with his business. He does well with other dogs of similar size. He has a strong prey drive and should not be around cats or other small animals, including small dogs. He does well with kids. This boy loves a big stuffie toy and will carry it all around with him. Nylabones are a great way to occupy his time and energy and he also likes car rides. He'd be a great running buddy or pet for an active household. Ada is a lovely brindle pup who was born on 12/15/2024. The litter of 9 came to us when the mama dog stopped feeding them. Our fosters took over and they have thrived in their foster homes! Mom is an American Bulldog and a picture of her is included. We don't know who dad is. Based on this the pups should be around 60 to 80 pounds when grown. About the breed: American Bulldogs are a well-balanced athletic dog that demonstrate great strength, endurance, agility, and a friendly attitude. These dogs have a clown-like personality. As family dogs, they do well with kids and babies. All Heart of America dogs are altered, micro chipped and will have age-appropriate vaccines. The adoption cost is $225.

Hope is a very sweet five year old dog from KC Pet Project. She’s incredibly loving and loyal to her owner. She loves snuggling, and thinks she’s a lap dog sometimes! She’ll follow you anywhere and prefers being close to the human she loves. Hope has a lot of energy sometimes, and likes to go for walks or play tug-o-war. She enjoys puzzle games and feeders and learning new tricks. Hope can be a resource guarder and a little on edge when she is afraid, so she needs an owner who is patient and willing to consistently work with her. Hope gets along with her brother, a larger breed who is a few years older…but she has not been getting along with a new step-sister (hence the reason she is looking for a new home.) She would probably do best in a home where she is the only pet and will not have to compete for attention or resources. Hope has never been around children. It would be best for her to find a home with one or two owners who can be home with her a lot of the time.

The only dog in an empty row they decided wasn't worth living and to walk down the hall and never return. We could not let that be his fate. Mia has made huge progress from when she was found on the streets of Kansas City, Kansas. She is 2 years old and is a small, 30 lb dog with lots of affection to give. She has become a ride along, errand running buddy who loves going to home improvement stores and meeting new people (especially if they give her treats)! When taking treats from her foster or strangers she happily takes it gently. Mia is also excited to go for walks and has been in training with professional dog trainers for the past 6 months to build her confidence and counter conditioning her fear reactivities. Mia has learned a few commands and is great on a leash. She knows sit, wait, with me, come, kennel, and we’re working on leave it. She is kennel trained, and enjoys a peanut butter Kong when she goes in. At home she finds her quiet napping spots after playing in the yard. Her favorite play activities are to chase or be chased and wrestling with her foster sister, and zoomies in general. Being from the street Mia resource guards with other dogs, but she has been making great strides and has been making great strides. She would do best with a larger non-reactive dog who likes to play or as a solo dog. No cats or young children. She can jump a short fence so she will require a tall privacy fence or leash walking for potty breaks.
