My perfect day would be spent playing fetch, followed by a nice nap. I love meeting new people and making friends, both two-legged and four. I'm always the life of the party at the dog park! I'm looking for an active family who loves to play and spend time outdoors as much as I do. I promise to bring lots of joy, laughter, and unconditional love to your home. Duke is an energetic ball of love. He was raised as our fur baby since adoption in 2019. His birthday is December 19th and he turns 5 this year. He loves to cuddle and play with toys ESPECIALLY ropes and bright green toys or tennis balls. He is familiar with a home where he is allowed on the furniture and treated as a member of the family. He would do best in a home with a single middle aged woman or couple with big children or no children at all. Duke gets rambunctious around small children as he is very excitable which is why we are looking to rehome him. As we recently had our first child and with another on the way we feel that we cannot provide him the same quality of life he is used to and we love him enough to know that he deserves nothing less than the best in life. He loves other dogs and cats, but oftentimes animals have a negative reaction to his large energy, so if there are pets in the home be prepared for that adjustment period because he really just wants to play.

Story
We got Jaxon from a family in Kansas City that had 2 boxers that had puppies. We weren't really look for a 3rd boxer, but his puppy photos were too cute to pass up. Jaxon is almost 4 years old and came into our home at about 12 weeks. He is such a sweet and loving boy to his mama and daddy. Jaxon has one issue, he doesn't get along with one of our other boxer boys. He has attacked him multiple times, typically food driven or attention driven. The most recent incident was a bridge too far for us and feel like Jaxon would be happier as an only dog where he is not sharing attention with 2 other pups. He does have some challenges. He is very high-strung and is scared easily. He is not good on walks because every shadow or gust of wind scares him and he wants to return home. We are broken hearted about this and will definitely wait for the right situation for Jaxon. We can have the dogs separated the way our house is setup, but that's not fair to him to be somewhat segregated.

Guppy is a very sweet dog. She is relatively low maintenance, but loves to go on walks if your up for it. She is "OK" on a lease. We love her, but at this point, we have 4 kids, and Guppy has developed anxiety. At this point, she daily goes to the bathroom in our home when we are gone. The vet believes its due to anxiety and we just cannot give her the care she needs at this point in her life. She is a wonderful dog outside of this issue. Very sweet and caring. Very spry for a 12 year old dog.

Pixie and Brickell have been together since they were very young. Pixie was born in March of 2012. Brickell was born in August of 2014. Their owners both passed away within a short period of time recently. The surviving family took them but then surrendered them at a shelter when it wasn't working out, then left the state. They are good dogs that have been coming to our daycare their whole lives. We had promised them we would take care of them if anything ever happened, and here we are. Pixie (rat terrier, ~30lbs) is dog friendly. Doesn't like to be picked up. Brickell (brindle, 55lbs) is dog selective, likes more passive dogs smaller than her. Both good with kids.
