Story
Meet Zero the Ghost DogFound wandering alone through a cemetery, skin and bones with a spirit still shining bright—Zero earned his ghostly name, but he’s anything but scary. At just 5 months old and 20 lbs, this Boxer mix is full of sweetness, snuggles, and second chances.Zero is great with other dogs, gentle with kids, and even respectful of cats. He’s working hard on house training and doing so well! His favorite hobbies? Following you from room to room, curling up in your lap, and soaking up all the love he’s missed. This little soul has already known loneliness—but now he’s ready for a forever home where he’ll never be invisible again.Open your heart. Make Zero your hero.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.April 14, 2025, 3:49 pm

Story
Isabella is a 6 year old Boxer, born appx April 2019.  She knows some commands and knows how to fetch.  She enjoys being active and is leash trained.  Isabella is looking for someone with an active lifestyle or at least with someone that will give her the opportunity to be active and run off her extra energy.  She has had issues with men in the past and prefers to be around women.  Once she gets used to strangers or new people, she is very loyal and protective.  She is housebroken, but tends to be destructive when left alone.  Isabella will probably benefit from crate training once she is in her new environment. Isabella will need her own personal space for eating meals.  She also does not like to share her toys.  Isabella is reactive towards animals she doesn't know (see note below about adoption area and help with training).  Isabella should be the only pet in the household and absolutely NO cats.   Adoptions for Isabella are limited to the area within 50 miles of Omaha so that she can take advantage of free training from our certified positive reinforcement trainers.  The suggested adoption donation for Isabella is $375, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Please Note:  A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption.     Information about the adoption process:  All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note:  We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. Story
- Busy pup who loves to connect with people through play and other activities; will likely enjoy physical activity and mental challenges to keep their bodies and brains busy- Total goofball who loves toys and being silly - Smart boy knows sit and likes treats- Loves going on walks and does best with a harness- Shy pup who may need extra time to warm up to new people and things; will likely open up in a home environment with patience and time and may prefer a calm, quiet home- Loves to learn and has great focus - especially if you have treats - so would be a lot of fun to train - Young, noisy or busy children can be too much for them (mature home recommended) All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. Primary Color: Fawn Secondary Color: White Weight: 72 Age: 3yrs 0mths 2wks
