Story
Just one look at this guy and you can't help but wonder why he was given the name Chicken? We do not have a clue. He is a senior guy looking for a home to spend out the later years of his life with all the comforts that a loving home will provide. Chicken still has a good amount of energy, but at the end of the day, he would simply prefer to curl up in your favorite chair, if you will let him, or a plush dog bed. He would do best with older children and a quieter lifestyle since that is what he had in his prior home. Come meet this guy and check out his big soulful eyes. They do not come more irresistible than our Poppy! She will surely pop her way right into your heart. She is young, vibrant, and ready to go to her new home. This boxer mix is working on her basic obedience skills and doggie manners. She has met some dog friends, but tends to be very dog selective. Due to her energy and enthusiasm Poppy would do better with older children only 12+, and a secure fenced yard.DOB 11/10/23 40 Pounds and GrowingI'm waiting for a home to call my own. email webmaster@petrefuge.com to learn more about me or fill out an application at https://www.petrefuge.com/adoptPet Refuge was formed in 1978 to help with cats and dogs in need of homes. Hi, I’m Lola! I’m a sweet, goofy girl. I can take a bit to warm up to someone new, but once I do, I will greet you with a piggy snort. I would love a home with no cats, dogs, or small children. A home with a yard would be fun as well! I love to run around and play. I would benefit from attending a class or private session from one of our recommended trainers, such as A Canine Story, to continue setting me up for success. I really can't wait to find her forever home and make new memories! Story
Our Honey needs a Hero!!   Honey is shutting down. She loves the attention from us, when we do dog rotations for potty time; but the rest of her days she sits staring at the back of her kennel or laying in a ball on her doggy bed, facing the wall. She is very depressed and has had no interest since she became available for adoption. Honey came into our care the last week of September 2024.     Honey loves her teenage & adult humans. She does like little kids too, but at her age - she doesn’t appreciate kids who are going to lay or jump on her.   Honey wants to be your ONE and ONLY pet. She is set on that and nothing is going to change her mind!    Honey is estimated to be between 8-9 years old. She has lumps and bumps as to be expected with a canine lady her age. Honey did have lab work done and her results were unremarkable. She has some joint stiffness at times when she gets going too much or forgets she’s not young and does a zoomie around the yard! Or goes on a walk a little further than she should go. Joint supplements would help her out with that as well as a very comfy doggy bed to call her own.  We are hoping to find Honey a home before she completely shuts down here. PLEASE SHARE to help us find the home Honey deserves to have the remainder of her life. She doesn’t deserve to live like she’s been living here with us.    Honey will make a great companion to a couple or single person who understands her needs. Ones that have no other fur kids in their lives or small kids who would get on her, even accidentally.  Could YOU be Honey’s HERO?!?! ♥   Her adoption fee has been Sponsored - is $0 for an approved adopter. We do offer a 2 week Foster to Adopt time to make sure she’s a good fit before finalizing her adoption.  Honey is a 55# American Pitbull Terrier mix.  She is spayed, microchipped, current on vaccines and monthly prevention. Heartworm & Lyme Negative. She is kennel/potty trained and walks good on a leash, would benefit from a no pull harness.    If you’d like to apply to adopt Honey please apply online here: https://www.fultoncoanimalcenter.org/application-to-adopt-a-dog Once your application is approved, a staff member will be in touch to set up a meet & greet time for you to come meet her and potentially take her home!    Closed Sunday/Thursday11-4 Monday/Saturday11-5 Tuesday/Friday11-6 Wednesday * Weather permitting on hours through Winter!! ##2193637##

Story
Meet Ginger! Ginger is approximately 2 years old, an American Pitbull Terrier mix and currently weighs in at 46 pounds.  She is a loving and very sweet dog! She gets along with other dogs and will do fine with kids as well! We have not yet tested her with cats, but will do so upon request. Ginger likes to go on walks and enjoys being where the people are! She is a social and well behaved girl!   * Ginger has tested positive for both Heartworm disease and Lyme disease. We are treating her here at the shelter and she will need to be adopted out on a medical foster to adopt contract. This allows us to medically treat her for her needs to get her healthy before her adoption is finalized. Her adopter will need to bring her back to us for scheduled appointments for her heartworm injections for treatment. Ginger will need to be kept current on heartworm and flea/tick prevention to protect her from being infected by a mosquito or tick for both of these illnesses. She needs to receive an annual Lyme vaccine as well. Neither of these diseases are contagious to humans or other pets, as the infected tick or mosquito that bit the dog caused the infection leading to the disease.   Spayed, current on vaccines and on monthly prevention. Adoption fee will be $100 when it is time to finalize.   If you are interested in meeting and adopting, please submit an application here: https://www.fultoncoanimalcenter.org/application-to-adopt-a-dog Once submitted our staff will review and then contact you to set up a meet and greet! If it's a match, you can take home on the same day. Any other dogs in the home must come in for a meet & greet!   Closed Sunday/Thursday    11-4 Saturday/Monday   11-5 Tuesday/Friday    11-6 Wednesday ##2265022##
