Meet Bruce! Bruce is around 4 years old and is a pit/boxer mix. This playful and energetic pup is completely house trained—never has an accident! He’s also a zoomies expert, and loves to spend his time sprinting outside. Bruce was surrendered with another dog, but we are unsure how he does with cats and he would prefer a home without young kids. If you’re looking for a fun-loving, reliable companion, Bruce is ready to make your home his own!

Jax is a 5 year old male Boxer / American Pit Bull Terrier mix that has been at AWL since 11/18/20. Jax is a work in progress that would thrive with someone with extra time/patience. Jax enjoys playing fetch and will gladly sit for treats! Jax needs help with leash manners, as he likes to nip at the lead. AWL currently uses a chain to transport Jax from his kennel to outside play area. Jax is looking for his best friend. Could that be you? Costner is a 4 year old male brindle boxer mix that has been at AWL since 6/3/2020. Costner will gladly sit for treats and loves his green chew toy! Costner enjoys sun bathing and louging outside. Costner likes to nip at leashes. AWL uses a chain leash to walk him. Costner is a work in progress and would thrive in a home with patience to work on manners. Costner is looking for his best friend. Xena : This little Boxer mix is full of energy and snuggles! 3yrs old, spayed, vaccinated and 41 pounds. She is crate trained and house trained. Loves to snuggle on furniture and sheds very little if at all of her beautiful brindle coat! We have only had a few weeks and is still coming out of the honeymoon phase but is dog and people friendly. Very social she wants to play with other dogs and will eagerly but patiently try to join your pack. She would do just as well as a single dog as she loves to be with her human caregiver. Walks well on a leash and harness but is strong when she gets excited. She is very trainable and knows basic commands. She responds very well to an electric collar and is praised with the beep feature. She is not aggressive in any way with food or taking treats and understands not bother other dogs eating but she is willing to share and wait her turn for treats. We are still working on her jumping up or over excitement around new people when she plays but don’t see any reason why she wouldn’t make a wonderful family pet and can be trained to be gentler with smaller children. She was gentle with small dogs in her playing but loves to race and tackle large dogs when playing outside. I can let her off leash in our yard with just the collar for training. She is nervous in a new environment with other dogs that are territorial and new dog food but adjusting well with minor accidents.
